  1. Tillamook is on the money. Siilaanyo signed the union agreement in order to get the new deal money from Europeans and others. Everyone knows except the "Gaas Dhagoole". The secession dream was over long time ago. It will not be Siilaanyo to sell the deal. He doesn't have the capacity to explain or enforce it. He is a lame duck. He can not even read a five minute latter let alone discuss complicated issues. The Habros and others must swallow the hard reality. before the dust settles and Siilaanyo is removed, people will go through a lot of useless " Xadhig Jiid" and abuse. Just this morning he fired the majority of the so called supreme court judges after they rules that the opposition could hold conferences. Like his own employees, he fired four and hired eight. Where in the world could you discard judges as pawns. Only in the land of lawless nomads. The real issue here is that we must defeat the southern elite who prolonged the union and reclamation of the Somali state. They are the root of the problem. In the nineties they were involved in warlordsim and anarchy, while in the new millennium they used religion as a tool to hold on to power, and now we have two fat boys ( culusow and Ina C/rashiid) from Mogadishu, without energy and "Karti" minding the shop. There were times in the diaspora that the Landers would not even dare to openly wave their flag and advocate secession. Those who destroyed the nation should never lead. SNM, SSDF and USC should never be trusted to build a just and lasting nation. They did not fight to get justice, democracy or rule of law. They were fighting for tribal hegemony. Regimes are changed, overthrown through blood, peoples power or other ways. but, destroying the nation and it's foundation is different. Believe you me these traitors are small in numbers. The majority of the Somalis, whether they are in Puntland, Mogadishu, Bay or even Woqooyi are dissatisfied of the status quo and the situation of the country in general.. We can defeat them easily. Have you seen the latest census estimate which could be close to reality. Shabeelaha Hoose alone with it's huge, over populated eight districts are estimated to be 1.2 million. They have more people than the combined population of Nugaal, Mudug and Galgaduud. Imagine that. Bay, Bakool and Shabeelaha Hoose could easily equal in numbers if you combine all northern regions. That is why I am saying let us vote and take the country back. By the way, when I say SNM , SSDF and USC, I am targeting particularly the leaders and the idea behind it. The Somali people are our people wherever they live . " Shacabku Waa Xalaal Meel Kasta oo Ay joogaanba". the issue is Siilaanyo, Faroole, C/kariiin Guuleed, and others. Also remember Culusow was a USC advocate according to some people.
  2. This is crazy. All of these regional states are formed in illegal manner. It is the typical Somali way of putting the cart before the horse. Even the number of the parliament members of the central state are too many. If you look it carefully, the tribally selected members are concentrated in three or four districts. Ceelbuur and Caabudwaaq alone are represented by more than 12 members representing four different clans. If I had my way, I would have banned them all unless they do the necessary requirements to hold public office and represent a community. They must be elected by the people directly. No if or buts. Why not directly elect these so called rapresentives. They have been sitting in Dhuusamareeb and Cadaado for six months spending the money allocated for Somalia stabilization fund. Why not use these fund to register the communities and directly elect these people. I would never recognize one single state parliament unless they are elected by the people , including those who are sitting in Puntland parliament for the last 17 years. What does it takes to legally register people, demarcate districts and put the ballot in a box. For 25 years , not one single legally registered election is held in Somalia, including the north. What does it takes to demarcate districts and regions. It will produce candidates elected by the proper constituents. These candidate must appeal for all the people who live in the selected districted, rather than run province wide and collect his own tribe votes. You may even find people who were originally from Bay elected in Gaalkacayo. The biggest fear of Somalis in general is the rule of law applied according to the books. It scares the sh..... out of them. Not only people back home but even in diaspora. They do not like playing by the book. In my own town, dozens of Somalis who own $200,000 dollar worth of taxi plates are still living in public housing projects. These were homes supposed to help single mothers and new comers who are struggling to adjust the new country. Just like the late culture of the looting and earning material gain without working for it , has followed them in the diaspora. Forget about Al-shabaab or Damjadiid or tribal enclaves. The issue is who is going to enforce law on Somalis. You do not have to be politically astute, just apply the damn law equally and justly so Allah may bless your land. That is all. Waxay na badeen waxay na bareen baa ka sii daran.. Walee maalintaan tuubada idinka joojino waxii aad yeeli lahaydeen Ayaan ka fikirayaa..........
  3. Siilanyo is becoming desperate .He will cell his mother to survive. This are scarp left in the nineties. Tilamook, we have to adapt quickly to deal with these nasty group.
  4. I do not blamae Saalax for mentioning Samaale. The local media only talks about individuals not the system. Some of you may not remember, but from 1981 to 1990, the international debt of Somalia increased to more than two billion dollars. Inflation grew even farther after 1987. The Dollar exchange went from 36 Shillings per dollar to 148 shillings in the black market. In Hargeisa, in order to boost the propaganda, they claimed that the budget has more then doubled from $120 million in 2013 to $ 252 million in 2014/15. The biggest increase pf the budget is they printed a $ 100 million paper money and released to the market to increase bribery before the election. The so called opposition can't explain or even talk of the disaster. If you want to spend $ 300 dollar worth of transaction , you need to take with a cart( Caariyoone). The Wiemar republic in Germany after the first world war, to buy a loaf of bread and few eggs, it took people a bag of containers to carry the money due to extreme inflation. When I visited Hargeisa in 2011, an officer with the finance ministry told me that " haddaan Batrool La helin ama Dhaqaale badan dibeda ka iman meeshan waa lagu kala yaaci". The Economy based on import and resale, combined with fiat money and the looting of the purse , expect a total collapse of the economy.
  5. MMA, saxiib, weli ma Huteelada ayey ku jiraan sowtaan moodayey in ay Muqdisho u guureen. How can they afford the hotel bills. Please give us some overview of the political class in Nairobi. Nabad iyo caano.
  6. Talaabo, you are correct, I should have added the Awdalites and their silence on the issue, and I know many of them aided and abated the separatists, Although, historically we are more " patriotic than the habros". On the issue of benefits, clearly I did not get any thing special. Unlike today's " maamul Goboleed" almost every Somali kid had that opportunity. The two places the Kacaan and others built and benefited were " labada Webi, Benadir iyo Woqooyi galbeed". I do not hate Somaliland or " duriyada", but I want to dismantle it. After 25 years it couldn't answer the challenges of the modern 21st century government. Unemployment is 80%, government services are non existent, rule of law is superseded by tribal justice and constant useless bickering is the norm. 15% of the budget is consumed by the ruling family. It is not a weakness to reverse the policy and change the course. Instead of dismantling it through Awdal " Kor baan kaga imanayaa". You can still elect a separatist governor who doesn't like Somalia, and runs the local affaires , just like they do in Quebec, Canada. You will not control trade and free movements of the people , the national currency and the military. You won't control points of entries like ports and borders, which could be a win win situation for all. I do not want anyone to allow me to step foot in Villa-Somalia. Saxiib, Cidna uma daba fadhiisanayo, HAG, D block or anyone else. Hadii aan soo fuula powerka Kartidayda ayaan ku iman . I have plenty of what they call self confidence. " Dalka malihid aniga ku idhi Dooroolaha e", The great Darwiish told the British empire, the most powerful country in the world in 1901. Not only did he tell them that they do not run the land but, they must clean themselves. Yonis, nin af-Soomaaliga si Fiican u qora ayaad tahy. Ma dhiirigalinayo, keligii Talisnimo iyo dulmi midna. Laakiin xaaladahu markay adkaadaan, go'aano adag in la gaadho waa lagama maaramaan. Isku soo wada duub oo taladu waa cadaalad, shaqo iyo karti. Somaalidu nama kala xigto. Kuwan aan daandaansanaynayo, waxaan rabnaa in ay wadada saxda ah ku soo noqdaan, laakiin, haba yaraatee wax colaada ah uma hayo dad Soomaaliyeed.
  7. MMA Saaxiib, defenetely , i have to explore first many things including Nairobi. I have already seen " ma shaqaysayaasha" who lead the diaspora communities here in Canada. Small task that needs maximum four hours , usually takes three in the afternoon until 11pm. Eventually what counts is not politics or constant discussion, but real on the ground results. Does the policeman and the soldier get paid?, are people working six or eight ours. Folks we need a revolution. It is like marrying the women you loved after long courtship. After few plays, she is carrying your baby. Now, you must put your boots on and start feeding yourself, the wife and the baby. " you can not manage the family only by nice talk and idle companionship. " Ninkii dhalaalayaba qof baa dhoobada ugu jirs" These rich nations became prosperous because of hard work and sacrifices of many citizens.
  8. Libaax and Che, with your help we could win the highest seat of of the land of the Somali republic. To know where you going , you must know your history, culture and tradition. Most of the Somalis, especially those ( Kuwii Dumiyey Qaranka) who eliminated the Republic, will never say any thing good about the Nation we lost. The Somali state didn't begin or end in 1988. I went through middle school , high school and Gahayr university without paying any one Somali Shilling. It wasn't Siyaad Barre who provided that opportunity , but the Somali state and the government led by the Kacaan. When I was in Mogadishu in the middle of eighties, I was a rebellious university student like anyone else. I hated the system and the government, yet I always felt a proud to be a Somali. What ever hatred we had were directed at the regime not the nation. Living in Mogadishu, it never crossed my mind that this beautiful city belonged to or owned by anyone else. ( Habeen Waligay Kuma Seexan Xamar Cidbaa Kaa Xigta). It was the capital of my nation. Who could have imagined with less than few years millions of Somalis were expelled from their homes by misguided militia. In the late Somalia of eighties, I could have moved and settle in Kismaayo or Jowhar, without the fear of anyone denying me residence. That was the Somali state. Please tell us what you have replaced with that state after 25 years. Whether one lives in small town, at the border, center or the capital the feeling was mutual. Believe me , I will never complain or worry about my home region getting less ministers or Generals, what counts is the equal opportunity for all, government services and the feeling of the greater goal of the nation compared to your rivals and competitors. The sad part is in order to to lift people from poverty and dislodge the public purse and resource from the privileged few , we are forced to wage a tribal or regional campaign which will never achieve the intended goal. If I spent $ 10,000 dollars to achieve a national goal, I would never regret for a second, if that adventure is not reached. because I consider it being part of something greater than my self. But if i pay $200 dollars for tribal pride, deep down , I always regret. Many of you may feel the same. In my last post, I stated how the people of Togdheer were evacuated and settled in Shabeellaha Hoose during the" Dabadheer Drought", It was a duty toward a Soomaali people who were in need. Can a desperate Somali families could settle today in Burco or Beledweyne. I doubt it. Muxuu Yidhi Abwaankii " Waxay Na Badeen, Waxay Na Bareen Baa Ka Sii Daran". Rather than being a big fish in a pound (dhijaan), I rather be a small fish in the big ocean of the Somali republic. I always supported the creation of federal states and the distribution of power. Not to create enclaves , or being a big fish in pound, but the power to provide better services for the local people. The question is: Are they providing services?. Libaax, with all this bright young minds in the SOL, we could do it. Some of them are cool headed like Che, others are intelligent, some are well versed in politics. I could hire Dr.Keney, Mooge, Dhagaxtuur and the Mischivious Xaaji Xanjuf, who must abandon the illussion of Hargeisa and recliam the Republic. Libaax, Saaxiib Waa Halkii reer Benaadirkee " Hadalee Maan Wadaynaa". Ma waxaynu Daawanaynaa qori isu Dhiibkan reer Muqdisho iyo Reer Puntland". A guy from Mogadishu who becomes President because of the instability of Mogadishu, who then, nominates a fellow from Puntland , and so on. I am the candidate of SOL residents. If I could get the support of these men and women , I could win. Libaax, arrintaa maxaad ka odhan lahaydeen?

  10. ELPunto, you are exactly right. The so called opposition could condemn and speak out , but they don't . In this part of Somaliland having mercy for other Somalis is seen as weakness or abandoning the illusion. The headline of the article says that the Somalilanders were admitted, while Somalis were refused. Some of you naive youngsters might think that the admitted Landers were carrying registered passports or other credible documents which proves their citizenship. Folks that is not the case. You may be able to separate Mr.john smith of Britain , from Mr. Smith of Canada or other anglophone countries by their citizenship and passport, but here in the land of the nomad, were citizenship, document and registry is non existent, the only way to profile innocent Somali war refugees is by asking their clan. If you are not from Awdal, Hargeisa or Sanaag, may Allah have a mercy for you. Does anyone has any other way to separate poor Somalis.
  11. One more thing, Mr.Che, Did I mention that I am running for office?
  12. God forbid, if this enclave becomes state, it will be a disaster. There is no rule of law , or government hierarchy. The man wielding the stick is the mayor of Berbera. He is fighting with the governor who want the people to embark from the ship. He ( the mayor) seems to be winning at the moment. The Governor " Dacar", is from AWdal. I heard he insisted that the people should be allowed. As the story goes some of the people were from the north, so in order to separate the Somalis, they have to ask the usual " Qolomaa Tahay", What a shame. Some forty years ago in 1974 when the " Dabadheer", drought hit the region between Togdheer and Sool, with a lot of loses, the Somali state, brought Russian C130 cargo planes and air lifted hundreds of the people, their hamlets and life stocks including the remaining goats and sheep's. The Somali government settled them in some of the fertile lands in Shabeelaha Hoose, districts of Sablaale and guntiwaarey. They became successful farmers and fisher men. Now this. Believe me, we can all claim and always high light the crimes of the Kacaan, but it was the a Somali state which benefited people from every where. When we to go to hospital, we were admitted because , we were sick and happen to be Somali, just like the Canadians of today. The next chapter of my book is going to be: The collapse of the Somali state was the biggest calamity to happen to the Somali people for the last hundred years. Please call me : Dhashii Kacaanka.
  13. Yonis, please no excuses for this " Maamul and the People". It has been almost a week and not one single person raised their voice. This is the same crowd that was playing the victim card for 25 years. This is worse than what South Africans were doing to Somalis and others. For many years , no one challenged them. In politics, carrot and stick go hand in hand. We all overlooked their weaknesses, misdeeds and dysfunction. They are even spreading false excuses, claiming that the Ethiopian government told them not to accept refugees from Yemen. If I were in charge , I would have brought these separatists in to the union without bloodshed . It won't take me four years. The problem is we have a weak and corrupt southern politicians who doesn't know history and can not see the big picture.
  14. Kulahaa "The Federal Gov will be given one or two district of Mogadishu as a Federal district capital", Horta dadkani ma iyagaa sharciyada samaysta miase sharci la yaqaano ayey u maraan. Maalister Saaaxiib, you can't make the rules as you wish. I remember another " Unaka" member Mr. "Oba Hilawle", last year mentioned about giving certain districts of Mogadishu as the nations capital and joining the rest with " Shabeelaha Hoose". Before we address these silly propositions from the " Unaka", is there any precedents or similar capitals in the world with similar arrangements like the one suggests by our friend Malister?. To be sure , We are not talking about centralized, unitary, monarchies or republics with a capital and regions like France, Italy or Egypt. Here, we are specifically addressing Federal states. Some of these Federal states have their own unique history of autonomous colonies forming the federation as in United States and Canada, while others are the result of people with different cultural and ethnic background coming together, like nigeria, india and Russia. In these states, the national capital is the seat of the federal government. Since tribal identity is even stronger than the ethnic one, Somali Federal states with agreed upon National Capital region is a must. We don't have to go even further to find the right model copied by toady's Somalis. Ethiopia, our neighbor, which has great influence on the formation of these states, have implemented not only a federal capital region, but also formed federal administered cities within the regions. The size of Addis Ababa has doubled for the last 25 years. every year , the federal government annexes land from neighboring regions to accommodate the growing population of the Capital. Dire Dawa, a city in the Somali region, used to be the second largest and railway hub between Djibouti and Addis. It was A Somali town with substantial mix of Yemenis, Oromo, Harrai and small number of Ahmara. After 1991, most of the Somalis either left for Djibouti , Somalia or outside the country. At the same time large number of Oroms and other ethnic groups settled. When Federal regions were forming , it was disputed between the growing Oromos and Somalis. To resolve the issue, the Ethiopian Government made the city under the Federal control. Now, Mogadishu is the symbol of Somali rejuvenation and revival after the collapse of the state in 1991. At the same time, it is the commercial hub and the largest city with millions of people. To sustain the millions of Somalis from all over the country, Mogadishu must not only be maintained as a whole, but other neighboring communities like Balcad and Afgooye must be incorporated. Modern city planing and more land is needed for the capital to accommodate up to 2.5 million Somalis, including those from the diaspora, who could be going back if peace is achieved. Now, to be fair, let us address the issue of representation, especially the residents of the city regardless of their tribe. Living in the capital does not deny one a complete representational of the national parliament. in fact, they will probably have the largest number of parliamentary seats. This is a win win situation for all Somalis. I urge Ali Geddi and others to look these facts carefully. Of course, there will be an elected mayor who runs the city and maintains the basic services. Folks, the issue of cutting the city to pieces is a non starter for all of us. After what has happened in Mogadishu in early nineties and subsequent miseries Somalis suffered every where, it is only fair to be inclusive at this juncture of history. Ant thing else will be impunity. If the debate continues, then an elected Somali parliamentarians should decide the location. there other places who are willing to invite everyone. . different regions with different .
  15. The left and the poverty industry in Canada love to narrate these hopeless and miserable stories about Somalis and others to keep them from seeing the big picture or discovering other venues to escape the poverty or find new ways to overcome. Here, you see a so called award winning journalist retelling old news paper stories to describe Somalis in Canada. With all due respect, the Somali women featured in the story, I do not see a social worker who helps people with welfare needs or guiding new comers, could help the first generation Somali youngsters who are totally a different categories. The goofy journalist claims a social science graduate who works for the social services is an exception to the rule for Somalis. This is what we are up against " a Cadaan " socialist who would like to be an expert. I think Sister Safia mentioned this kind of thinking with her ground breaking article about " Somali studies" and the Cadaan. In this province alone, their are over 30 Somali graduates of universities and colleges of different fields every year. Many have joined the work force. If one looks back the Vietnamese refugees of late seventies and early eighties-- The Boat People-- they had violent and shocking stories in Canada. Today, other than few drug dealers or high level criminals, most of them are successful citizens. Even in Alberta, where most of Somalis have been killed, things are calming down slowly. We have plenty of problems to overcome, but we must reject this victim hood, poor, and hopeless mentality they want to project from Somali communities. Regardless of how difficult it is to succeed in Canada, those who strive and work hard will achieve something good " Insha Allah". Also, it is disingenuous to blame Canadians for opening their door to Somali refugees. Millions who are in refugee camps and other hopeless places will be grateful to have an opportunity to land in Canada. These kind of victim-hood never helps anyone. Look the aboriginal Canadians. The media keeps talking about their constant problems and the discrimination they face in Canadian society without addressing their own internal problems. Their own future is the projection of the injustices they suffered almost 200 hundred years ago, rather take advantage the vast land they own and other strength of their culture. I remember , when for the first time Somalis were introduced to other citizens of the Ottawa city, back in 1992. If one researches , he/she may even find in the archives of the Ottawa Citizen News paper. The story starts about good looking but different people at the bus stops who are the newest arrivals of the nations capital. Most of the people interviewed were upper or middle class Somalis who left comfortable life to the harsh winters of Ottawa. While most of stories were about adventure and the new life, the complaint and high expectation of the new Somalis had bad reaction among the local readers who responded with harsh letters to the editor. " I applied jobs every where and no one was offering me any thing, If I were blond and blue eyed white, I would have gotten the job". That was one of the responses of a young Somali professional who wanted very thing as quickly as possible. People were astonished about the attitude of the new refugees who were welcomed to community, yet poking fingers at the local people. That was how we were introduced by the media back then over twenty years ago.
  16. The idea of everyone voting in 2016 is not only impossible , it is a hopeless proposition. The basic task of Governing mostly involves registry and regulation ( Diwaan gelin iyo Maarayn). Registraging the birth, marriage and death of the public, record keeping of property and other painstaking remuneration of every thing. We will never have fair elections or registered voters for a long time to come. Look in Hargeisa, after almost a generation( twenty four years), no one knows how to register or administer basic registry. The so called parliament was elected in 2005. A process that must be done for every five years, yet they have been sitting their for 10 years and no one knows when the next one is due. The Guurti should have been elected every five years and they are sitting illegally for 18 years. They sit their and debate endlessly. Rather than start the process years ago, they wait until the last minute. They claim their budget is hundred of millions, yet they are waiting few millions from " Deeq Bixiye yaasha". Now how on earth is any general election will be possible in the Al-shabaab infested south?. If you are running for office make sure you reach " Odayaasha Dhaqanka" who are sitting in Mogadishu to select the next group of parliamentarians. Probagaandadana naga yareeya fadlan.
  17. If you want things done, you need people like Tarzan, the former Mogadishu Governor.
  18. Tilamook, Waxaa ha nagu maqashiin. Unconstitutional extension of term limits is something unique in this continent. No way. If he want to extend his term, let him compete in 2016, like everyone else. Ina Cabdirashiid is a nice guy. Somalia needs a tough guy. This is the man who shuffled 100 cabinet members in two months. He is a Mogadishu boy. He does't have the backbone to face warlords and business oligarchs who run the country with impunity.
  19. Gooni, nin qalbi fiican baa tahay. Fiicnaan lahaydaa haday hawluhu sidaad sheegtay u dhici lahaayeen. In my humble opinion Qoslaaye is in Garoowe plotting his next move regarding after 2016. His term will conclude within a year and few months. He didn't defeat Al-shabaab yet, didn't build viable national army and time is running out. Garoowe and Cabdi weli are the best place to start the campaign. The questions is what can he offer ?, or what are the possible scenarios in this game. First , he will ask C/weli to supports his campaign to extend his term for two more years, in exchange to help C/weli succeed him to the office, in 2018. The second scenario could be even more daring for Qoslaaye. The second scenario is Qoslaaye may even plan for his reelection in 2016, and offer C/weli the premiership and guarantee it in writing. " Addeer Afarta sano ee soo socota aynu wada shaqayno, Awood buuxda ayaan kuu siinayaa Ka raiisul Wassaare Ahaan. Ogow C/weli, Haddaad ila tartanto 2016, way adag thay in aad iga badiso. Addeer Labadan Arrimood mid Dooro. C/weli, Waan ka soo fikirayaa. Remember those boys holding the premiership and deputies, the likes of " Ina C/rashiid and INa Caete Qaalib, are Daddies boys. They have done nothing in life to hold these positions. Sooner or latter, they must vacate these positions for the self made men who are waiting in the wings.
  20. Somalee, you probably are not married. Help have been asked already. In our Islamic tradition, when it comes to manipulation and plotting, even the devil himself will not match woman's mischief. Even research have shown that their instant thinking and quick response is better than men. . They already know the answers of their questions. Buddy marriage is beautiful and complicated. Of course , we Somali men have a lot to improve, like waking in the park with the wife and other companionship issues. I hate shopping. Staring those supermarket shelves while she takes her time. Yes, we are a lot to improve, but no one can match our other strength. No white convert, Arab, Pakistani or black African can even get closer. None of them will send money to her mother and other extended family. I am not talking about one month or even a year. How about ten years. We don't mind doing it.We consider it part of our family duties. We approach the whole thing like a life long companionship till death do us part. But Chores, it is our weakness, no debate.
  21. Of course, a family without selfless mother and wife will not succeed. The unconditional love they provide their children will never be matched by any father. on house hold chores , the best a good Somali husband could do is limited. Vacuum the house, some shopping and babysitting the children while you go out and relax with your Halimo sisters. laundry?, forget it. The idea of men cooking for their wives is only in Hollywood movies. It is a fairy tale. I hate those fake men who boast about cooking. only wives could make the house neat and livable. For twenty years I have been told " Waar shaadhka iyo Dharkan aad dhulka ku tuurayso meel fiican sudh". Sometimes I was even told " waar inta aadan wax cunin orod oo maydho",( take a shower before you eat food), I could go on. On series note, the work outside home while raisin infants is what making things difficult. The biggest strain on marriages and couples is the early years. Most divorces that I have seen happens for the first five years, especially with children. WE don't like to be awaken in the middle of the night by a crying baby, while trying to sleep few ours before early call. Usually it is the mother who absorb all that night duty. That is why she is not only super, but the most loved and respected in the whole family. On the other hand, seeing a careless husband might make some women fear for their future and push hard to affect change, which sometimes backfires. Sister Saafinuura, The world have changed. For years, The feminists have told women that they can have both worlds. family life and good career. Well sisters, that is a lie. It is a difficult to balance, especially in the early years of child raising. Without the wife , the whole house will be a place of dozen shoes and dirty cloths that lither the floor.. She is the center of all our lives. teach him few things and give him duties he can handle. Leave the baby to him as much as possible to babysit and go to other sisters to relax and change the atmosphere. In our tradition, sisters enjoy chatting with other sisters to relax the mind. Finally have patience in the early years, things will work out themselves.
  22. While discussing the issues of world power, the Somali Philosopher Dr. Cumar Raabe( Allah ha u Naxariistee), said " Maraykanku Waa Badow Doolar iyo Bunduq Haysta". Roughly means " The typical American is an ignorant with dollar and shotgun", or as they say in the wild west , it is the butter and the gun that built America. At the same time many of you might have seen movies made about the " ugly American", disrespecting indigenous cultures and customs when he travels abroad. yet regardless of how people dislike the ugly American or hold certain contempt for his behavior , people very where respect them and fear them because of who they are and what they stand for. Now imagine the " ugly Somali" who has neither the butter or the gun, yet behaving badly throughout the world. He will not be tolerated or given a pass like the American, instead he will exposed and dealt harshly. We don't have Radio, television or other modern programming to inform our people or even guide them how to navigate these new countries they are settling. Every other community whether they Indians, chines or Arabs, follow the foot steps of those who proceeded them in terms adapting to the new environment. Most of the Somali community leaders are dinosaurs or older people who can;t answer the modern needs of the new generation. Our own West Edmonton Mall was put on high alert after Al-shabaab released a video to threatening for attack. Every thing is related to the political situation of the country. unless the country stabilizes, Somalis youth will be the victims of multiple foreign ideologies.
  23. I never accuse legitimate Hawalas who are the life line of the people back home including my own family. This is not about Hawala service, it is about unanimous telephone banking that is facilitating the killing of innocent Somalis. We are all for free enterprise and open economic market, but you can't secure your people and country by overlooking this issues. You can not allow your citizens to be bombed like insects by a dozen every other month. The question is how Al-shbaab is paying salaries and financing sleeper cells and local unemployed people. Believe me in Mogadishu every thing is about money.
  24. Wax kasta oo dhaqaale iyo dhismo Aduunyadu bixisay Xamar baa la galiyey. Dadka Sommaaliyeed ee Zaylac iyo Baidhabo iyo Bulaxaar jooga waxba kama soo gaadhayaan. Dadka Soomaaliyeed Ayadoo ay didaas tahay ayey raali ka noqdeen. Iyagoo Rumaysan Hadii Caasimadu nabad noqoto in Qaran Soomaaliyeed hagaagayo. Isbitaalo, wadooyin, iskuulo, Airpor iyo adeegii halkaas ayaa lawada geeyey. Dadka maanta ku hadaaqaya Muqdisho Hiiraan halagu daro, kumanaan Soomaali ah ayey Muqdisho Siyaabo kla duwan uga qixiyeen. Waxay dhaheen Hadaan Madaxweyne anaga la naga dhigin nabad la heli maayo. Maantana waxay leeyihiin Muqdisho waa dhul reer hebel ee Caasimad Soomaaliyeed oo loo wada siman yahay ma ahan. If Mogadishu is going to be the nations capital, it must be a neutral seat of all Somalis. I can't imagine the greed of certain politicians. President Hassan and his clansmen control the Intelligence service, the national police, and Benadir regional government, yet they can't improve security. No way. Somalis should never allow one clan to control the resource of the national capital. Remember, it is the Somalis and former national governments, including " Kacaanka", who built Xamar before and today , it is mostly Turkey and the resource donated to the national government by the donors who are mostly responsible for the new Mogadishu. They want to take all that to themselves. What a punch of greedy people. If they do not change their character " WAdankan Waa laka Diri". Enough is enough.
  25. Hlac, it could be similar to Bitcoin in terms of purchasing and currency exchanges. They also put certain value on the coin which is equivalent of some dollars. While Bitcoin is replacing the dollar as agreed upon currency, Zaad Service is simple transfer of cash through the phone. This big difference is Zaad service is unanimous telephone banking. Small merchants can set up accounts and load the money in your phone. After transaction is concluded no one is able to trace or control. Telesom company controls the service. They are owned by former Al-Barakat and Salama Bank owners. IN the Somali business and political landscape, they are the biggest fish.
