Malister, please keep out the so called Somali " Danab" contingent from Gaalkacayo. When I heard, about the so called investigation in Mudug , I became suspicious already. Since Amisom can not come to these area, you are trying to spread chaos in Puntland. Today , we have seen the devastating effect of the Mogadishu cell in Gaalkacayo. Two trucks loaded with bombs exploding in North Gaalkacayo, Puntland. If you have a man power to investigate terrorists and sleeper cells , please do so, not in Gaalkacayo but in Mogadishu.

I welcome that " Reer Sool " finally decided to put their political agenda in one place. Fractured groups running between two regions was disaster for their community. . They had amble opportunity to make their own administration for the last twenty years but did not do or could not do. They have an open land to organize and create something but that never meant to happen. If things do not work your way, one must change his political strategy. a united " Reer Woqoyi" is good news. On the other hand , I did not hear Cali Khaliif proclaim secession . Gu' idu hakuu dambeyso , bal marka hore ummadaada meel iskugu gee. Xaaji, the Punties do not need to go to war. Even in earlier times when they had the opportunity to fight in Laascaanood, when Xaabsade incorporated his militia with Somaliland, they decided to stay away , which was the logical political move. They should not interfere a war that pits two Garaad communities against each other. What I like about Puntlanders are they do not create mess or entangle themselves with quagmire. I was reading our friend Oodweyne complaining about Puntlanders pushing the Garaad or taking power both from Mogadishu and Puntland, even calling M. Saleebaan by their names. Xataa Faysal Waraabe ayaa idaacadaha ka lahaa nimankaas M.j....nia ayaa awoodi Soomaalia la siiyey. Hada iska jir oo nimankaas cidna xabad dhafoorka kagama qaban , cid ma xasuuqayaan, cid dhul kamay qaadan. The Puntlanders are just following the rules and playing the Somali game as was prescribed by the rules. They took the "khatumo delegates " by exercising political maneuvering. I even heard the Mogadishu based Landers crying foal about that arrangements. That is how politics are played. Sometimes the political moves of the " Reer Woqoyi" becomes even ridiculous. Yesterday, I saw a member of the " Guurti" praising the government for the expulsion of the singer from Boosaaso who were denied to stage a concert in Hargeisa. She was just like any other singer both in style and clothing attire which is not different from others, but the " Sheikh " minister of religious affairs sent the army to stop her. My question to Ooweyne and others is , If we can not even handle a singer from Punties, how are we going the handle the sophisticated game of Somali politics?. You know what, that is probably the reason we have to leave, because, we can not compete with these southern politicians.

Oodweyne, that is another angle . I was blind sided by just looking what is in front of me, I thought he was just helping his masters, Now, he want to defeat the Hiiraan clan and the Galgaduud anarchists, or as you put it bring his larger clan under his control while showing the world as good neighbor of Ethiopia. Waar nimanka maxaad baratay. Shalayna cimaamad bay soo xidheen si ay iskaga dhigaan niman Soomaali badbaadinaya, imikana kuwii ay lahaayeen waa cadow ayey salaaxayaan si reerku awood u helo. Oodweyne walee waad asiibtay

Holac, you are correct. We Somalis should never go against the Oromo. The clever Ahmara will use them against us. we should stay out of this or support the Oromo quest for statehood.

Canaan1, last Thursday , someone asked about the visit and I said it is related to the Ahmara and Oromia uprising. Some of my friend could not relate this, but Cabdi Cumar is telling the truth. It could have been historic if it was a Somali orchestrated visit, but it was not. The tigray want to align themselves to the Somali state and Ethiopian region against the Oromo and Ahmara. If you look closely, as soon as Hassan Sheekh landed Cabdi Illey started talking about the Ahmara agitators in Gondar , he said " the Gimbot 7( the Ahmara coaltion) and others want to bring the old failed "Derg" system of the past, but we will never accept that " he continued, "they should know the Ethiopia of today of different nations with each responsible with their affairs and development". Even two days before the arrival of the president, Cabdi Cumar spoke in length with Ahmaric and denounced the apprising in Oromia and Ahmara as people who are pushed by evil forces who want to destabilize Ethiopia. In conclusion, both of them have been ordered to make the a " show" of force. In fact Culusow will do any thing to keep the chair with the blessing of the TPLF.
-
In the region the traditional leaders were dismantled. Under Cabdi Illey no group can assemble . The Somali elders could be a force for good , but when manipulated by politicians they are disaster. As I sad I Zone five their is one man , Candi Illey, the elders have no say. By the way how did the Ahmara got the arms?

Today Toronto area Member of parliament Ahmed Huseen was in town to meet and greet the community, and I went there to participate. It was informative and well. I wish Somali politicians were like him . He is an energetic man , who made us all proud the way he engaged the community. So when I got there , I saw the ONLF chairman of the Canadian branch. Following my conversation with Che, I immediately sought to engage him and started talking about the coming collapse of the Wayaane and the future of " Sommaaali Galbeed". I knew that he hates Cabdi Illey, but just to see his reaction , I said " Waar wadankii wuu dumayaaye, Ninkii Cabdi Illey aynu fariin gaadhsiino si uu dalka u qabto". He said " we sent a message to the people of the region and told them to get ready to control their country with help of the resistance". As expected, he said they will hang Cabdi Illey for his crimes. He just pronounced the usual hard line of typical Somali " Jabhad", so we said good by's and proceeded to the vent.

Che, so far those D....r regions did not raise a finger for any resistance. In Awdal bordering region, we used to have Horyaal movement , but it disappeared in 1992. Since then , other than ONLF , no other Somali group has resisted. Yes the ONLF fought and paid a lot for their resistance . in fact , if there is any group deserving credit for resistance and fighting the Wayaane , it is ONLF. Calling them Anarchist is probably a wrong adjective. As a friend of the movement , I am allowed to criticize. They are still in the trenches fighting, but , their fighting force is not their anymore. Most of their bases inside Somalia, especially in Dollow and Jubba area was destroyed by Al-shabaab under the leadership of Ahmed Godane. They crushed the largest ONLF forces in Jubba on behalf of Ethiopia. Now I know how Al-shabaab was foreign agent to weaken the resistance. The remaining forces joined Ahmed Madoobe's Raaskaanbooni militia. Less than couple of hundreds are waging hit and run. I know the ONLF because I used to pay the monthly dues for years. What ever is left today could not control the whole Zone 5. On the other hand , we Somalis should take hard lesson about the collapse of the Somali state and the tribal movements that fought the unending civil war. So we may not like Cabdi Illey, but he is the closest to an organized state with trained security forces that could keep the Country together. If you open the tribal bands , soon you will see everyone coming up with his own alphabetical guerrilla movement and disaster will follow. My friend some times we must swallow tough medicine for the greater good.

A Somali friend of mine who have an extended family in F..........y, north west of Jijiga , told me today that all buses and car travel from Dire-dawa, Harar and Nazret to Addis were cancelled. Only airline travel is allowed. Youth between 12 years and up have been rounded up in Oromia region close to the capital. the Tigray are panicking like never before and these youths unlike their for fathers are fearless. They are facing the Tigray paramilitary with stones . He said, when he visited Ethiopia two years ago, he personally have seen the Wayaane strategy. His family wanted to replace the Khat growing farm with coffee beans and to achieve that goal He traveled to the coffee growing highland to get some good seeds. while in the north , out of curiosity , he did visit Mekelle, the capital city of the Tigray region. He said , the city he visited was not different like any other developed city in the western world. " In down town Mekelle, you could find regional banks, insurance brokers and real state companies with glass windows and brick walls" ,he continued, " that is when I realized their future plan of Tigray homeland. Despite all of this , he believes the Tigray will bring the Oromo closer and crush the Ahmara in the short term. Anyway, the artificial Abyssinia created on the back many ethnic groups has reached the end game. Just like former Yugoslavia , it should disintegrate . It should have happened in 1991, but we Somalis screwed up that chance.

ONLF does not have the means to rule the whole country. It is one clan entity that is making noise in their own villages and rural area. They changed even the name of the region to " Ogadenia" to suit their clan agenda. Everyone else calls Western Somalia( Somali Galbeed). Of course Cabdi Iley is a ruthless ruler who murdered everyone regardless of their tribe , but I will rather prefer a tough dictator than a bunch of backward tribal anarchist who do not have the means and the organizational skills to rule . Believe me there are millions of other Somalis who inhabit from Dire-Dawa to Wajaale and between jigjiga and if the Wayane leaves after the collapse of Ethiopia , it could be worse than Somalia. Could you imagine the USC trying to rule Garoowe, Boosaaso, Hargeisa and Borama by force , no It is impossible. Well, ONLF trying to rule the whole region is almost similar scenario. Premature take over of power by one group will create a civil war. So in order to keep the Zone 5 from tribal fragmentation, l will prefer Cabdi Iley to keep the power in the early stages and slowly transition to new government. I would not even rush for early transfer of power from him, it should take two to five years before the a new system is implemented. Finally, before the Wayane's leaves power, they will cook the civil war between the Oromo and ahmara and others. They will leave the disaster behind and retreat to Tigray.

As you pointed the Amhara have given up ruling again or dominating Ethiopia. Ten years ago in 2005, they tried to storm the palace with hundreds of thousands of demonstrators, and Meles was almost pushed out. t he used live bullets and killed dozens of civilians in the capital. Finally he crushed them. Also, the invasion Somalia in 2006, helped him consolidation power. The Ahmara do not like the Ethiopia of today, where every ethnic group is it's own nation with their own region and boundaries. They could only make noise in Gondar or their own region. The power of the 40 million Oromo is increasing , and it seems the time has come for northern highlanders to go back to their original home. By insisting to article 39 ( the right of ethnic nations to secede from the federal Ethiopia), the Tigray ruling class will disband Ethiopia rather than give the power to Ahmara. The Ahmara's have given up of their dream of bringing the old Ethiopia , so they settled to revive their ethnic nation. Mekelle, the Tigray capital have been preparing for this for a long time. If the dissolution comes, as expected by all, the Somali region of Ethiopia will be the biggest winner of all. We own a quarter of the current Ethiopia territories ,and all the oil and other minerals. Cabdi Cumar ( Iley), could take out the Somali region easily. He already have a 50,000 strong paramilitary forces who could control the borders and keep the Oromo or Ahmara anarchy out of the Somali region. I hope he is prepared for the future collapse of Ethiopia.
-
The Ahmara demonstration in Gondar reached Addis . They smelled the freedom. Nothing is more stronger than ethnic hatred. 3 million Tigray want to control 80 million. I don't know how long will that last.

Haatu, Saar is probably those with white clothing. The last one with Haga Haga is not Dhaanto or Saar. their Somali accent seem to be Waamo or Jubba. I do not think the Sujju speak that way.
-
Che said " Let the sh!t hit the roof". Fear is what keeps dictators to power and it seems to be disappearing. Ethiopia may crumble within few months or a year. The Tigre will loot the banks and the economy will collapse. If I ware Hassan Sheekh , I would demand their soldiers to leave the country soon. We do not want their mess to reach us.

Well, Mr. Jonny, The Awdalites have decided not to wage war after 25 years of peace. Who I am ( I double double coffee sipping from the diaspora) to tell them otherwise. Ma rabaan in ay qaxaan. I do not think Khaatumo and Cali khaliif has the answers. Fighting Somaliland and rejecting Puntland does not work. They should choose one way or the other. Mida kale ha israacdo haddaynu nidhi , ma haboona in aan hadana dagaal ku dhaqaaqno. the main issue is some southern boys like Jonny B does not appreciate us criticizing the federal government. They think they own the state and the capital. My friend , it is our country and will speak louder to shed light on the incompetence of the leader to save lives. Assad, Al-shabaab is well and alive. only Somalis could eliminate, not Ethiopians, Kenyans or others. It is the duty of every nation to clean it's mess.
-
Actually there are large number of Somalis with mental illness rooming in the diaspora. Even some of those who join the extremists ranks are not that stable. Al-shabaab also uses mentally challenged youth to blow up innocent people.

It is about time all those useless theories of education applied to the real daily life. You can not find a qualified electrician, plumber or pipe fitter, yet we are gratuating hundreds every year. Way to go Amoud , the pioneers of many things

Mogadishu is burning. The Somali capital is in chaos and it is becoming inhospitable place for Somali members of parliament, leaders and presumptive presidential candidates. For the helpless civilians in the city , death and destruction along side roads, hotels, and buildings became a normal events. The security of the capital is getting worse by the day and by the hour. Reasonable people may disagree how to prevent a brain washed cultist seeking death and destruction. Of course no one can stop if someone is willing to die or kill himself, but states, even as weak as the Somali state , with minimal functioning security apparatus, should do extensive investigative work to prevent this thriving business or car fitting with bombs. Within two weeks two huge bombs with cars has taken place while two more were intercepted, which means dozens of garages and save houses have been set up within the city limits. For the last two months , Al-shabaab killers followed the same formula without changing anything. Salaad Cali Jeele, a Mogadishu based politician , whom some people might laugh when he speaks , because of his native accent, had explained this extensively about the copy cut version of these constant bombs and the storming of the buildings to cause huge damage. What has been done to prevent this?. Mr. president What ever you are doing is not working, in fact the security of the city is getting worse. The president and his government are probably preoccupied to gain the upper hand in the next election while neglecting the basic rights of the citizens for their right to live. I do believe that this president should not be rewarded for his negligence and incompetence to provide minimal safety for the people of the Capital. No one is asking him to to bring back the Somali state or expand the reach of his administration, all we are asking is bring some kind of normalcy to the capital. No one is asking him to have state presence outside the capital , no one is asking him to help regional states to defeat the menace of Al-shabaab. All we are asking is to reduce the bombing and and find ways to stop the killing. In 2014, when similar bombings and killings were spreading throughout the city, people demanded of his resignation and were talking about a new beginning to change the course and save the remaining two years. I was one of those who said give him another chance to redeem himself and bring security. I was wrong. Some far sighted people had already seen his short term maneuvering and political machinations to stay in power, while neglecting the most important issue of the day which was and still is security. If you go just south east of the capital Mogadishu, the enemy is rooming freely. We know Al-shabaab has taken over Marka, in Lower Shabbeele. This is the second time in six months that the militants took over that city. The so called national army based in Shabeelaha Hoose keeps playing chicken games with Amisom and the locals to get their way. The locals are convinced that the so called national army based in Marka are nothing but a tribal militia who are hostile to the locals and the future security of the region In 2012, when he was proclaimed as a president he said: " the most important job of my presidency will be security, security and security". The Somali people from east to west, north and south have all seen how this president had failed miserably that promise of bringing security to one single city. Then, we the people, should not reward for his incompetence. How can we give promotions for those who failed?. For the last two months, close to 60 people have died in similar fashion of car bombing and shooting. I am not even adding the daily killing of security people and other civilians shot daily by the militants. These are the major horyfying deaths of the last 60 days. Have you ever heard the president mourn or speak loudly to reduce the the death of the innocent?. I did not. There is no use to demand resignation at this point, but we should never let him come back to preside the security and the lives of our people. In June, 1 2016, Militant group Al-shabaab claimed responsibility for Wednesday attack on Hotel Ambassador . So far 16 people , mostly civilians died , and 55 wounded. Two lawmakers were among them. in June 25, 15 people were killed in Hotel Naaso Hablood . A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle at the gate of a hotel in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, which was followed by a second explosion with attackers fighting their way inside the building. July, 26 2016 Suicide bombers killed at least 13 people at the gates of the African Union's main peacekeeping base in the Somali capital . The force of the bombings shattered windows at Mogadishu's nearby airport, showered arriving passengers with glass and forced the suspension of flights, police and witnesses said. July,31 2016 At least 10 people have been killed including four attackers in an assault on Somalia;s Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Al-shabaab claimed responsibility after two suicide car bombs struck the gates of the CID headquarters in Mogadishu before at least two gunmen stormed the building. Well, no one should be watching this daily bombings. How long do we have to watch to this incompetence?. Are the citizens of the capital decided to aid Al-shabaab?, or this is some kind of a campaign to intimidate those who are seeking change?. I do not know what is going on.

Holac, he could have been Gulenist, but in this case this man who took the selfie was not an employee of the state or the president. He was a private contractor. In my school, the issue is bigger than the picture. Here , you have the President of The Republic transported by foreign government in his own country. Why would the Americans send a bus or a vehicle to transport the president in a base in his own country. He should have visited there with his security details and greeted with honor guard as the head of the state. Instead , they sent a private contractor to bring him to Balidoogle. By the way, Balidoogle is 90 km from Mogadishu. I spent my national service years in Wanla Weyn , just two kilometers from the base. It takes hour and half to get their from the capital. Waa madaxweyne marti ku ah dalkiisii. Sawirkani waxuu ka turjumayaa basarxumada Culusow.

Those in the western media who are rooting for the coup and kicking Erdogan, probably do not know the evil of Turkish coups of the past. They were more bloodier and ruthless than we have seen for the last 35 years. According to Turkish media , here are the facts of 1980 coup. The Turkish Parliament was dissolved, the Constitution was revoked, all political parties were shut down and their assets were seized. 650,000 people were taken into custody 230,000 people were put on trial 1,683,000 people were blacklisted Military prosecutors demanded the death penalty for 7,000 people 517 people received the death penalty 50 people were hanged The military rule revoked the citizenship of more than 14,000 people 388,000 citizens were denied Turkish passports 30,000 people fled Turkey to seek refuge abroad 299 inmates died in prisons due to "indeterminate" reasons 14 inmates died in hunger strikes 171 people died under torture 3 journalists were killed 4,000 years of prison time was requested for 400 journalists 31 journalists were jailed Newspapers could not print for 300 days 39 tons of newspapers and periodicals were destroyed how can anyone wish this for their countries.

This election seems to be different from the last one in so many ways possible. The pool of those electing the members of Parliament have been increased to thousands. These new formula still favors those who have deep pockets. For the individual person seeking a place in the parliament, the burden has also been increased to convince and reach out as many delegates. The Somali National consultation forum ( Madasha Wada tashiga Qaranka) supposed to meet in July 17, 2016, for another round of negotiations to move the process forward. That process was pushed to July 25, and then further to August 2. There are few sticking points that must be resolved before any elections could take place. The Hiiraan elders are complaining about the Somali President changing their traditional elders to his own elders in order to influence the selecting of the parliament. The an ending issue of Ehlu Sunna and Gakmudug with each trying to have the upper hand , and finally the would be senate members from Somalialnd. While all those issues are technical matters that could be resolved one way or another, the most important issue is the location of the election. If we all want this election to be different, we must take concrete steps that should minimize corruption, increase open debate and safety for those who are participating. Safety is very important for fair and free election. Since Al-shabaab and those who are funding them decided to target members of parliament and other leading voice of the country, it is imperative to hold this election without the fear of the enemy. How can anyone campaign in this climate of fear?, how can someone who is secluded in his own hotel can seek a vote from people congregating different parts of this dangerous city. If we really want this election to be different, we must move to another much saver city with manageable security. Since we could not go to Borama, the safest city in the republic with almost zero crime rate or Hargeisa, the thriving capital of Somaliland , I suggest we should go to Garoowe. It is a medium size city with a lot of resources that could accommodates thousands of Somalis. They got conference halls and other venues for delegates to meet. It has wide open and paved streets and modern hotels. Remember, small village of Arta, Djibouti, has accommodated hundreds of Somalis for almost six months. Because of the size of the city , few hundred Puntland soldiers could be deployed to secure and patrol the streets and other important places. In Garoowe, Somali elders and delegates seeking an office can safely engage and discuss issues with the local, national and international media. They could speak their mind without the fear of Al-shabaab and other contract killers in Mogadishu. If the international community want a free election without intimidation and fear, then they must move the election to Garoowe. Also , a reasonable compromise could be reached with those insisting that Mogadishu should be the place. For example, the electoral delegates who are electing the house of parliament should gather In Garoowe and conclude the election of parliament. The elders and to be members of the parliament can peacefully interact and campaign in Garoowe and elect both the members of parliament and the speaker of parliament. In order to minimize violence and threat on the lives of the parliament members, keep them in Garoowe until 48 hours before the election of the president. Then, fly them to Mogadishu to elect the President. If I had my way , I would have done the whole thing in Garoowe including the election of the president, besides, for most Somalis , going another Somali town and conducting national business should be a normal thing. I know that as soon as this news is announced, the usual suspects will screen and cry foul, but they should know that this is the best interest of the nation to conduct the election in a save place. This is not a demand or advantage , it is the most logical thing to do if you want a peaceful and celebratory gathering of the Somalis. It will open a new page of putting the nation's interest ahead of the politicians who insist every thing is Mogadishu even if it is impossible. The business of restoring national government and the survival of the Somali nation state , is more important than the capital itself. Let us meet in Garoowe with peace and love.
