  1. Barwaaqo, That video is forgery. I think it was a dirty trick by Kulmiye. The said Suldaan has spoken and confirmed that the video was long time ago to support C/raxman Zaylici when he was fighting Hirsi and Siilaanyo. I d not want to post here because it is laden with tribal statements and clan issue.
  2. Waar ilayn anagaa wax aragnay. Kani kii shalay Khayriyada Borama hor socday Mohamed Cali miyuusan ahayn. He is the Suldaan of Dilla, and he used to claim the grand Suldaan of Awdal. Two years ago he left for Hargeisa married a lady from east Burco and kept quiet for two years. Last month he and the so called grand Suldaan of Somaliland Ina C/qadir came to Borama with Cirro and held one of the biggest rallies in history in Borama. . I do believe that this is not a genuine new video but mixed up of old interview six months ago recorded and put in pieces. If this is a true video, then I Galbeedi will never mention again an Awdal Suldaan or any other. Faysal Waraabe said that these Suldaans must be pushed out of politics for good. What an embarrassment. By the way, other than the politician Boqor Buur Madow, you will never hear the Grand Suldaan of East Burco do double talking. For seven years, I never saw him came to tv or in the media spew crab. Even during the Rayaale vs Siilaanyo contest, he never said bad words about Rayaale. Certainly , he is an honorable Suldaan. The worst Suldaans are from Awdal and South Hargeisa, and those from West Hargeisa are virtually gangsters and criminals, as some of them even raided.
  3. From 2011 to 2017, Galaydh could not achieve to build anything meaningful. This could only be summarized as the demise of the professors. This is the Laascaanood treatment of Muuse Biixi two days ago. Here is Waddani a day later:
  4. Ace, Xoqida waan joojin e Idinkuna Mujaahidka iyo waxaas naga joojiya. The best thing about Somaliland democracy is the free speech. Everyone would grab a hot microphone and say whatever he wishes. This is a great tradition of the Somalis, and as oral society, they cherish to announce their opinion without fear. As long as this tradition exists Somaliland democracy will survive. Mar haddan ka gabyoon go' aygiina ka qaatay, maxaa iiga gidhiisha.
  5. Mourad , you really got it Even local people are tired of the non stop electioneering. How can any body tolerate a five consecutive rally in one city, people need a break. The Ladies who sell Qat are making money, and food restaurants are out of food by noon. As we have seen through the Siilaanyo term, handing money and favours seem to be the biggest job of the leader. He got dictatorial powers with no checks from the parliament , spending the budget as he wishes , makes him the chief handouts. On serious note, Suldaank, The Habro wars of the nineties are history and many who participated are here, but not one single person who took part directly is elected or named minister. Even Ahmed Siilaanyo decided not add them in the government except Mohamuud Hashi who is protecting the interest of the clan in general. while Siilaanyo is cared for at the palace. You guys use the victim card very well, but there were hundreds of Awdalites killed by SNM. I am not talking about war or fire fight but innocent civilians murdered in homes, roads and even mosques. During the Borama conference people have agreed to forgive and forget, and build a new life. Cigaal was told to disarm the gangs roaming the land and build institutions. Meesha kuma jiri kuwii la cafiyey ee lagu eedeeyey in ay dad laayeen in aad isa soo hormarisaan. You and I know that his Kulmiye nomination was a hostile takeover of a political party. We forgave many things, but we can not accept to be ruled by those who have blood in their hands, and you and the people of Somaliland should not accept to bring the past in 2017. It is called back to the future . Why you keep looking backward instead of looking to the future. The Hassan Appolo case is not something created by me or others, but a real case pushed by his own family who are based in Europe. There are real witnesses who would testify in court of law. All they need is a good lawyer who would interview the witnesses and corroborate their stories. These are not shoot outs or crimes by combatants, but the murder of innocent man intercepted in a road who knew Muuse Biixi and thought that he would be freed soon, but was taken to the woods and murdered. Moral and decent people would not accept that kind of leadership unless they have lost their moral compass. He might bribe or buy people , but he will never become a legitimate leader. Have you seen gangsters with expensive cars , jewellery, hot girls and cash roaming the roads and night spots?, they might get some attention, but deep down everyone knows that money could not buy honor or credibility. Look at Trump, he is gangester in chief who embarases his nation every day. Walaalayaal Jabhadkiina meelaha kaga sheekaysta oo Hargeisa ha iska dhex mushaaxo laakiin ha no keenina haddii aad talo qaadanaysaan.
  6. Deeq, I do not like the guy, yet he seemed to be very competent. I do believe that people like Ahmed Madoobe could defeat al-shabaab. Someone told me that he was in trenches fighting with his own gun unlike many others. I guess we could be good comrades if he expels the Kenyans in the next few years.
  7. Cali and Muuse are both going down. This election will eliminate a lot of people for good.
  8. Suldaanka, Nin dhalinyara ah oo hawl weyn haya ayaad tahay, laakiin waa in aynu saxnaa qaladaadka ku jira qoraalkan aad soo dhigtay . First of all, the writer is one of the old guards or lackeys who might be educated but always acted as illiterate tribal elder. He was probably some of those who said thirty years ago, " Subeer Ha lnaloo dalacsiiyo" This kind of propaganda might be intended to mislead and undermine the accomplishment of the localsin order to get some favors from the dear leader , and we must clarify the half truths and lies in this story by this old man. . First, the Hargeisa -Dilla section of the road was paved by the Italians not the Chinese. The Chinese did the main Highway from Mogadishu to Berbera, some 40 years ago, yet it is still being used without been maintained, and the best highway Somalia ever had. Did you see the winding roads at the top of the Sheikh mountain?. . The Italians stopped the paving in early eighties after both the SSDF and SNM insurgents targeted the crew and those who were working on the project. So, It was Siilaanyo and company who thwarted a project that could have been done 35 years ago. If you travel the Italian built road from Hargeysa to Gabiley , there are no bridges when crossing major creeks. Just after you pass Arabsiyo city there is huge hundred meter creek with no bridges. It is one of the crappy jobs done by the Italians throughout Somalia. In Mogadishu university there is two lane road that goes to Afgooye that crosses the Gahayr university. It divides the dormitory and the main compass, and we used to run to cross the road. I wonder now , why in the world did not these Italian engineers build a padway or fifty meter bridges so the students could cross safely. The EU spent 300 million dollars on that project. The Somali engineers did know about padways or just followed the Italians who are masters of corruption. By the way they are the ones who introduced this dysfunctional ceremonial president and prime minister system that hindered progress in Somalia. Back to the story. First, The Dilla Borama road was started by the locals which was the first road project ever started by citizens without a government input in Somaliland. SEcond , after we built the first 10 km , they said Ahmed Siilaanyo contributed 4km and latter another 4. Madaxweynaha ayaa ku deeqay sideed km ayay yidhaahden. The fools were presnting like Ahmed Siilaanyo was gining his own money to help the locals. InIn Fact, there were more than 60 million dollars for Somaliland development fund donated by foreign donors to enhance local infrastructure like roads, hospitals, water wells and other sustainable projects, yet we got few dollars toward a project started by locals. . UAE gave 19 million dollars for road developments, and we did not have seen one penny from that money. They spend millions to buy equipment , and all that equipment was allocated for the Burco-Sanaag road. Maxa la yidhi nin aan waxa ogayn, " Hal Geella ayaa Waxar lagaga bedesha". They stole our money that supposed to build Zaylac-Borama highway and build Lughaya port and water projects that is badly needed in the coastal area, yet they want Siilaanyo to take the credit. If there is any credit it should go to the man who started the project Proff. Hassan. C. Cusmaan. The road should be named after him since he was the man who started the Dilla- Borama road project without government input. Mr. Hassan Iman , please stay away from these issues, and stop the useless propaganda for the old man who destroyed the institutions built by Cigaal fro 1997 -2002. Xoolaheeni intay dhaceen oo booli qaran ku dhisteen, ayey doonayaan in aan amaanu. Waxaan maqlay guulwadeyntu Soomaalia waxay uga timid Hargeisa iyo malaha Awdal.
  9. Amin Amir is going too far. If he goes this road he might lose all his credibility. Last week he posted a poster promoting Kulmiye party, the same party he portrayed for years as corrupt and incompetent. Last week, I run into one of his close friends and I asked, "since when is Amin Amir became a fan of Kulmiye?.It was just few months ago that he depicted Kulmiye as tired and out of touch party that was abandoned by the people who were looking for change. I told him that this guy must change they way he is doing business or he will be discredited soon. Few hours later he posted a cartoon praising Waddani to save himself prom embarrassment. IN AWdal , we used to ask people why some of these Suldaans are double talking and changing sides every other week?, the locals will tell you " Waar Odayaashu waa sida kaadhasha telefoonka oo lacag baa lugu shubtaa ka dibna sidaad jeceshay ayey u hadlayaan, berina mid kale ayaa ku shubanaya isagana way u hadli" , roughly means that these Suldaans are nothing but a phone card that must be filled and would talk as you desire. He would attack Cumar Geelle with his dictatorship and theft of public money for months, and suddenly, the next day he will post a cartoon with flowers and progress and captions praising the dear lear. Remind you that between these two opposite cartoons, the dear leader have not done any thing different from the way he done business. In Somalia, just like the political warlords, and business warlords, there are media warlords. The worst among them is a television called Universal TV, Caasimada and others. I friend who just came from Mogadishu was telling me that a businessman would go to the finance ministry or the MOgadishu port and would try to get discounts or favors from the inspectors. THe inspectors would refuse to make any deals and would demand that he pays the right custom fees. At the end he visits the minister himself , but Bayle rejects and tells him to follow the rules. The next day, an article would appear from Caasimada and other media outlets attacking the minister for one thing or another. This is the MOgadishu media trying to destroy those who refuse their bidding. C/raxman C/shakur had not involved with UAE or the Saudis, but had criticised the Farmaajo government, and Amin is hitting them. For years, he attacked those he thought would hinder or defeat Farmaajo in future elections. The sad thing is most people, including me thought Amin Aimir to be a nationalist intellectual depicting a picture that says more than one thousand words, and help his people rise up from the ashes of tribalism. Of course I knew his shortcomings and his weaknesses like all of us, and I thought the benefit of the cartoons would outweigh his desire to earn a living. Yet, that desire to earn a living should not destroy and undermine his talent. I am writing this response to remind Amin Amir to protect his brand and dignity. As a friend , I want to remind him to watch the boundaries of his cartoons. Editorial cartoons combine artistic skills, hyperbole and satire in order to question authority and draw attention to corruption ,political violence and other social ills. They are intended to show the hypocrisy of the politicians . Of course they usually have certain political leaning , but must be objective and not to appear to be rented space. I did not write this for what he depicted today, but for years, I felt he was being rented by certain people with deep pockets. When the Qalbi dhagax issue was in the news the biggest surprise wasn't about the handing of the man to Ethiopia , but the silence of the president and his government. I thought Amin Amir would make a cartoon criticizing just the silence of the president, yet there was no beep from him for weeks. Few days later he posted a washington post article claiming that Qalbi-dhagax made a deal with Ethiopia. I know the man and we live the same neighborhood , and I hate to attack friends , but if he keeps acting this way, he will become the Xidigta October of our times. It also shows a deep trend of southern corruption that touches almost everyone. I knew all along that he was involved what people call pay and play, but I thought in the end he will redeem himself and keep his dignity and credibility. When we were Hiil-Qaran, we thought we were progressive, nationalist and different with new thinking, yet on the next day he depicted Abdi Samatar and put a title that read " Hiil Daran". We accepted his critic, but these idea of Farmaajo fun club will not help Soomalia, Farmaajo or even Amin Amir. Ethiopian troops are crossing by thousands, and more Ugandans are expected, yet this man was the one who believed that the Ethiopian presence as danger to national sovereignty. With couple of big bombs, he run into his masters to save him. The truth is neither Ethiopia nor Uganda will help him to defeat Al-shabab or keep him in power. Amin Amir ma oga miyaa in la soo dhaafay wakhtigii " Xidigta October" keliya la akhriyi jiray. On the other hand, Ina C/rashiid should clarify his stance on this issue. If he becomes lobbyist, then he should kiss goodbye to any elected office in Somalia. What is wrong with these leaders going to foreign countries like small businessmen looking for a deal. Shariif Ahmed was there too. Why can't they settle in their own country and become counsel to the present government and the locals. Shariif Ahmed could settle down in Kaaraan and share his wisdom among his people . show people as a retired former leader who is taking part of the nation building rather than beg foreign nations. If you need some financial help, then do it in an honorable outside the media limelight. . They are flying around the region and want to come back during the election, what kind scheme is that. THey probably have two or three wives in different continents , one in Istanbul and one in Uganda.
  10. Mooge, please remove this distasteful video. I thought you were better than this.
  11. Mooge, Saaxiib Salaan sare. It has been a while. Welcome back. I like seeing real work being done Ninyahow. That is what people want.
  12. THis was really a well planned attack. Imagine that some of the most prominent sheikhs of MOgadishu like Sheekh Cali Wajis and Sheekh Nuur Baaruud were there. This were the most critical Sheikhs who oppose the terrorist agenda of Al-shabaab. Their death could have been a huge blow to the nation. They are killing the Ullema, the officers and generals, the nationalist parliamentarians and intellectuals. If they eliminate those who have a conscience , then those who left behind will be cruel businessmen who are after profit , selfish politician and tribal leaders.
  13. I agree. It is the combination of culture , clan and democracy (qabiil, dhaqan iyo dimoqraadiyad). The tribal combination of Waddani is not that much different than Kulmiye, but it seems that the coalition of Waddani clans are broad based and voluntary without buying people and bribing. In all in terms of the election, Somali experts say that it is a Somali experience that should be welcomed by all. The idea of people voting by one man and one vote is a huge task, and if Somaliland pulls this , it will be a great victory for all Somalis. When you see our neighbors: Djibouti, Ethiopia, Sudan Eritrea and Kenya, it is a big step taken forward by a Somali administration, and a such should be welcomed. My only objection is this Muuse guy got the nomination by bombing the city and intimidating Siilaanyo. THen he took over the party without contrast. That kind of leadership should be shunned and discouraged. In the end I hope things go as planned. In late July,2017, a high ranking UCID official who visited Alberta, Canada said that the international community has a big misgivings about the prospect of Muuse Biixi taking the helm. In fact they are worried. We all hope for the best.
  14. We need more information. Someone just told me that in that those who were trying to replace Shariif Hassan were based on that Hotel. He said most of their meetings for the last few weeks were held in that hotel.
  15. Subhana Allah. Allah ha u Naxariisto.I just watched the clips yesterday and heard some of the casualties. Certainly this was a huge tragedy. Very prominent Somalis have died in this heinous crime. Madoobe Nuunow was the most senior South west politician. The Sheikh is correct. There is nowhere to run. If these killers are coming to hotels that means they have free reign in the other districts. This was a huge operation of teams both for the bombs and those who stormed. I urge Farmaajo to declare state of emergency. Suspend the constitution and the parliament. If October 14 wasn't D Day , I do not know what to expect next.
  16. Libaax , Salaam , It has been long time since you have been in this board. I think they are emboldened, and the issue of locals tolerating their activity is on the microscope. Insurgency usually thrives with local support. I hate to put down our president, but he needs real help. The intelligence issue is very important, and if you do not have informers with these people you are doomed. At the same time I would give Farmaajo credit for speaking frankly and talking about the weaknesses of the system. I heard there is a big shuffle of the cabinet soon to energize the government.
  17. Didn't we said the attacks would get worse few weeks ago?. Soon the parliament or the presidential palace could be stormed by the terrorists. If we keep pointing the figure to the canon fodder kids thrown to the fire , then we might not get the answers. This the repeat of 2014, when major hotels, parliament and government buildings were attacked and stormed after the initial blast. Last week I did talk one of those from diaspora members who went to Mogadishu to participate the review of the constitution. He came back without any work been done after a parliamentary committee rejected the process led by minister Xoosh. He said that after few days, they met the president with the group and this time he said president Farmaajo spoke frankly about the issues his government is facing. Some of the guests mentioned that the city was i better shape security wise from 2016, and Farmaajo said , " That might be true but so far we do not have any intelligence people that embedded or could report from inside their activity" , Amaanku gacayayada kuma jiro " was the words he used. He also said that he had been attacked from many sides. The gulf is waging an offensive, the neighboring countries are not collaborating well and the regional governments are on the offensive. At the time of this meeting regional governments were convening in Ksmaayo. The academic told me that the president said, " Madax ayaan la soo bixi kari laahay oo dhinac walba weerar baa igaga socda". It is the end of the year soon, and there are no trained soldiers in the pipeline. Yet, he said there were a lot of dinner parties and other feats going on in the big hotels. No wonder the terrorists target this hotel's since they know who is partying there. He made this speech before the bombing of October 14, so he might have sensed what is going on. We all heard the news that Turkey is willing to make Somalia strategic partner in many issues, but as we speak, president Farmaajo went to Uganda and asked them to send more troops. In fact he asked them 5,000 soldiers. He also went to Ethiopia and asked more. As I said the kid was already intimidated to give up the shop like his predecessor Hassan Sheikh. If he thinks Uganda , djibouti and Ethiopia will sacrifices for his own security , he is mistaken. As we see he is helpless , and We Somalis must help him to fix some of the issues for the next few years, but we must realize that this president will not bring us out of the mess in the foreseeable future. Almost everyone that I talk to tells me that if we were lucky enough to get out of the mess , it won't be the president but prime minister Khayre who must do the heavy lifting. THey said the problem is the prime minister is weakened by the Galmudug guys and others. In their thinking, the president is out of touch and weak as a person. Aan ooyee albaaka ii xidha.
  18. Waxay na badeen , waxay na bareen baa ka sii daran. Few years ago if you asked Awdalites about Muuse Biixi, they would described him as a unrepentant warlord, gangster and the personification of ugly past of Somaliland. No one in their right mind would have even entertained the thought about this person seeking the highest office. Since then few things happened. The Somaliland political system has destroyed not only the cohesiveness of the Awdal community through tribal lines, but the whole society of Somaliland has lost all matters of unity, honesty, honor, respect for the rule of law , earning honest day of work and everything that holds people together. While the people in general hold the the idea of communal peace and coexistence, the politicians have worked overtime to destroy every thing that holds people together. The hope is, life , liberty and the economy does not depend on the government ,but to the people. Siilaanyo is sick and senile, but through his cronies , he knows how to apply the divide and rule methods he learned many years ago by being a loyal student of Siyaad Barre , for a long time. With 80% unemployment among the youth and others, people have to beg the few government positions and contracts in order to survive, and those jobs are usually given to those who are loyal to ruling tribe.Villages with less than 50 people were made districts in order to entice people to think that favours had been given to their sub clan. The seventy or so ministers, deputy ministers and state ministers must whip their clans and bribe everyone in order to find support for Muuse Biixi. If your cousin or clan member joins the opposition, you will fired and replaced with another hungry minister who who will do the dirty job whipping the clan. Many people have shocked when they saw ministers, deputy ministers, governors, mayors, parliamentarians and other jumping the ship and joining the opposition party of Waddani, just few weeks or months before the election. Because , one of the systems Ahmed Siilaanyo brought to Somaliland is ministers and governors would draw the salary after they were dismissed. If you keep quiet and do not join the opposition, you will keep the car and keep your ministerial salary of couple of thousand dollars. As their term concludes people are now free and are willing to forfeit their salary for future fortunes. Another reason is people had seen the wind of change and are smelling the victory of the opposition party. In this case , the Waddani party will have huge problem to govern after they won the election, because every Cali and Cumar want to join the bandwagon and claim to be part of the new change. The Awdal community had suffered the same fate of divide and rule. Contracts, jobs, and management positions are given to divide people. The same people who have openly discussed the threat of Muuse Biixi and his presence in the political arena are now ignoring after they have been bribed with money and positions. Another thing that must be noted is the Kulmiye party had flooded millions of dollars to the streets of Borama. For example a group of people will hold a rally and voluntarily support the opposition party. Few days later, money would come from Hargeisa and that same clan or group will hold another rally and show their imaginary support in order to earn that cash. Usually, the Kulmiye guys never take the initiative of organizing in the city, they always react and try to answer with money. one day later the same guy leading the rally was bought and they said he changed. When you ask people , why there is these counter rally of Kulmiye?, they will tell you the famous statement Somali parliamentarians used to proclaim when Hassan Sheikh was distributing cash, namely, (Lacagtana qaado, codkana mucaaradka sii") take the money and vote to the opposition. The problem is that the Siilaanyo government had created a system of government that rewards people openly with the public funds and encourages looting as long as they are loyal. As we speak politicians are seling parks, school yards, bus stands, libraries and government buildings. People are realizing that being part of the ruling class means rich and rewarded. THe people of Awdal had made huge mistakes by accepting Siilaanyo or the SNM group to rule in Somaliland. Cigaal had thrown out these unrepentant warlords long time ago, but a weak and spineless Dahir Rayaale allowed them to come back to power. Now they have the audacity to bring unrepentant warlord as the new leader. If he want to be the governor of Hargeisa , that is fine, but he should not be ruling over others. No Somali group or region would accept those who had blood in their hands and took part in the civil war. If Mohamed Qanyare, Cismaan Caato, who were lieutenants of General Caydiid were rejected, or Mohamed Cumar Jees, Morgan, and Shaati Gaduud were only confined to their regions what made you think these Muuse Biixi will rule over other clans. Waar Mujaahidku reerkiisa ayuu Mujaahid U yahay laakiin cid kale uma aha. Xaafadiisa ha maamulo laakiin dad kale i uu xakumo laga ogolaan maayo. I do not think that Muuse Biixi could win the , but if he steals the election , some serious things could happen. We do not make up this staff. Anigoo wax dili kara duca qaadan maayo. 1- South Hargiesa, Togdheer, and Sanaag would rebel. if this unrepentant warlords takes power. His presence would remind people of the bloody civil war that took place between 1994-96. When he was told to lay down the gun and reconcile among the brothers who were fighting, he proclaimed that, " I will not take or accept blessing as long as I am capable killing with the barrel of the gun. It is not a legend , but that famous "Afaray' is well known throughout the land. His presence would open the wounds of civil war which will weaken the cohesiveness of Somaliland. 2- Awdal state will emerge again. Awdal State issue will emerge again and this time with a serious leaders . The presence of this man would unite a large segment of the population which would eventually damage both the Awdal people and Somaliland. The last campaign by Suldaan Wabar was a dry run by a non politician Suldaan who did not had the means and ability, but if a serious leader comes things could change. Here the grand Suldaan of Awdal 3- Sool region will not be the same despite the buying of Cali Khaliif. My sources told me that Cali Khaliif got an initial payment of $820,000 when he went to Hargeisa in the summer with his parliament chairman. What Cali Khaliif did not know is that millions of dollars had been spent by Siilaany to divide and fragment that society and he will be following the same footsteps steps of his nomad clans rooming the land. Who would have thought a well off business man in his seventies would cash in for the fragmentation of his people. He and Proff. .Samatar had talked this issue way back in 2013 in Mogadishu, and decided to shift their policy toward somaliland. Samatar had decided to change the course and accept what ever criticism and abuse that comes toward his way. Unlike Galaydh, Samatar could not organize the Awdal tribes toward his agenda. What infuriates people is the winding road Galaydh reached to cash in. He could not even organize or sway 20% of the people toward his plan. All the false hopes of opening the constitution and making Khaatumo as a viable land controlled by "Reer Sool" ; all the tough talk of saying that he does not want anything from Somaliland has evaporated. Eventually, he cashed and would disappear soon. At the same time during the reign of Siilaanyo there were a lot of brinkmanship involving both open war, influence peddling, bribing and low intensity conflict in the Sool region involved between the Siilaanyo community and the Sool region. The East Burco community had asked Siilaanyo and his tribal lieutenants to find a peaceful solution and some kind of normalcy among them and Reer Sool. They said that they were defending Somaliland and his seat , now that you are leaving , do not expose us with open tribal conflict with our neighbors , so find a solution( Waar Soomaaliland Iyo Kursigaaga Ayaan difaacaynay Colaadna waad noo abuurataye, inta aadan tegin arinta Qabaa'ilka ee na dhex taala reer Sool naga xali). So, Siilaanyo and his tribe had spent millions to appease and calm the waters. In one instance, 20 landcruisers were sent to Sool to distribute among the elders to buy their silence and support. Unfortunately, Cali Khaliif became one of the elders who were easily bought. Siilaanyo and company have mastered how to use the public purse to buy and appease opponents. The first leader of AWdal State that was celebrated in the diaspora Rashiid Aw Nuur , was easily bought and brought to Borama with few shekels. As we speak, he resides in Borama and hides from the people. Also, his hatred and antipathy of Puntland is very deep. Some say it had started in 1972 when Siyaad Barre made Laascaanood to be ruled from Garoowe and the Nugaal governorship, but I do believe that his hatred is mostly based about the political defeat he got from late President C/laahi Yusuf. In 2000, after C/qasim made him prime minister, it was sidelined by a coalition of politicians from South west and Puntland , led by AHN C/llla Derow and C/laahi Yusuf. He was replaced by Hassan abshir. Since then, he fought many battles to avenge that defeat with no success. The tragedy is that he sacrificed his whole political career and his people just to stick to Puntland. What I am getting is that even with Cali Khaliif at the helm, Muuse Biixi will exasperate the issue and the Sool region will rise up again. The East Burco clan will not be the one pushing for conflict next time. 4- Documented cases of atrocity and war crimes against Muuse Biixi. Ahmed Siilaanyo was the political leader of SNM. He is one of those who led the clan based Somali movements that fought the dictatorship of Siyaad Barre. His people rightly celebrate and respect his struggle and sacrifice he made toward his people. Also, seeing the tribal nature of Somalis and what came after the collapse of the Somali state, his community feels that his actions were instrumental of their self rule and the meagre progress they made. Some might say that today, compared to the conditions of Somalia, Somaliland might have done something tangible and peaceful. Despite poverty and unemployment, Somaliland is a beacon of peace and progress. After seeing the Mogadishu bombs, it is not fair to put down or deny these achievements by the people of Somaliland. We might criticises bribes, corruption and the failure of the institutions, but at least , you won't be murdered as you go by to your daily lives. This is the Cismaan Caato of Somaliland. Yet all that achievement and peace could evaporate if people follow their tribal and ugly instincts by electing a warlord who should be in some obscure house in Hargeisa. Folks, I am not exaggerating, but there are documented cases of atrocity by Muuse Biixi. Unlike Ahmed Siilaanyo who was a political leader , this man was a commander and a person who oversaw the killing of innocent people. Folks we have ton of information and other serious issues pointing out about unelectability of Muuse Biixi in the next few days. I am not kidding but if this guy becomes the president of Somaliland, he may end up in Hague, the international criminal court. There are active , corroborated cases with witnesses that could easily be brought to these courts. The Hassan Appolo case is well known in Awdal and in Somaliland. A popular football star of "Woqoyi Galbeed" raised in Hargeisa was murdered by his orders. There was a similar case of people ended up at the hands f SNM but with better outcomes. A man by the Named of general Mohamed Hassan C/laahi " Jidhif" , commander of the SNM coastal militia , who received dozens of Awdalites deported from Djibouti By Cumar Geele uncle and thrown in Lawyacado. It alleged that they had no shoes when they were deported, but Mr. Jidhif gave them shoes , food and asked that these men be taken safely to Borama. Jidhif saved people while Muuse murdered. These stories are well known just as the one committed by Muuse Biixi. If this man becomes leader expect nothing but trouble. Every politician known to Somaliland has abandoned him, except Cali Khaliif and Proff. Samatar. In Awdal, when people were asked about these professors and how they were out of touch of the local reality , they said (Adeer nimankan aad leedihiin waa "graduate" , anagu waxaan u naqaanaa , Garaad weyd, rag garaadka caato ka ah). Finally, I did talk to some prominent unionists in the diaspora and to my surprise they favor Muuse Biixi. They base their conclusion for two reasons: first, he might be a tough guy as described by Samatar and others as a former fighter, but political legitimacy trumps everything. He will be a weak and will strong opposition from many regions and will be weakened within, which denies him strong mandate. So, there will be a fertile ground for opposition. Second, he will be able to sell the union issue if there were agreements with Somalia, by claiming that as a former fighter he has the interest of the people since he shed blood for the land. In political jargons rightwing leaders are better equipped to deal these issues. They said that Daahir Rayaale as a former officer who was not part of SNM had a difficulty talking to Somalia. Unlike Siilaanyo, Rayaale even rejected sitting a table with Somali Leaders claiming to be a different country. At the heat of the election, Shariif Ahmed dispatched $3million dollars to Siilaany, yet, latter Shariif who was novice politician regretted about the whole affair. They afraid that president Cirro will keep the status quo for two reasons: One, his lieutenants Xirsi H. Xasan and former diplomat Mohamed B. Yoonis had already participated both the London and Istanbul negotiations and know how to drag, procrastinate and get the cash from the international community by appearing to be a genuine negotiators. They will entertain Farmaajo just like they did with Hassan Sheikh who realized in early 2015 that these talks were not going anywhere. Second, he is a very slow person who might not make tough decisions. THey think that he will keep the status quo just like Siilaanyo and find ways to milk money from Farmaajo by accepting talks which will not go anywhere. I feel deep down that some of these unionists favor the chaos candidate to open up things. In my opinion these unionists might be reading different tea leafs. Look at Trump, he acts as tough, but American power and prestige is weakened around the world while he is feuding cable news. Who knows what we hate might be our cures. History is repeating itself across the Somali region. Warlords are emerging both from the south and north in 2017.
  19. MMA, That is exactly the same scheme. In 2001, Ethiopia openly pushed the formation of SRRC, because they knew no Somali could do anything or willing to reject their agenda. Fast forward in 2017, the Ethiopian plot is rejected and exposed by all Somalis, and now they are using Ahmed Madoobe and others without showing their hand. History repeats itself and those who fail to learn from the past will repeat it again. In my book, most of them are spies and warlords, but for their own tribes they are heroes and saviours.
  20. Thanks brother. I do really respect those young Somalis who go back home and contribute for the development of our people , especially engineers like you. In my old days in Gahayr University, we used to say " Engineeri nor parlano , ma rispondono con I numeri", which means engineers do not talk much , but answer with numbers. I know Somali politics is a headache but we should at least try to reclaim our nation and have a place among free nations. Also, when I traveled that highway in 1981 to Mogadishu, the SSDF insurgency was active and most of the towns were abandoned by the people. Brother, I know the price you guys paid, " Barkadaha la gubay iyo dadka qaxay" , yet as a proud people you never complain about Siyaad Barre and what he has done to North East. The country is different than what it used to be long ago. I Am also a believer of hard work and gaining life skills . Politics arranges the system but what made these societies prosperous is hard work and education. Any way, habeen wanaagsan. Inkasta oonan ka seexan karaynba waxan Soomaalida lagu hayo ciilkeeda iyo cadhadeeda.
  21. Peace Action, We will all be waiting what kind of action this president takes after this tragedy. If he does the usual " Qawda maqashii" then we have to decide what actions Somalis need to do next. everyone agrees this is the turning point.
  22. MMA Saaxiib waa ku salaamay. Of course , we are all mourning and sometimes we would like to make sense for these senseless murders. Waxaad tiri Sharrif Ahmed , Hassan Sheikh iyo Farmaajo midna wax kama qaban karo. Dabcan qof raba in uu is haligo cidna ma joojin karto laakiin , kani ma, aha kii ugu horeeyey. This year the killers used huge trucks many times and the government did stop them few times. If the truck passed the check points without stopping, those soldiers should have shot it's tires, the drivers and should have used a deadly force to stop it. As you said, they just followed it until it reached the busiest intersection of the city. May Allah give Jannah for the martyred soldiers who were not probably paid for the last few months. Actually few months ago, a huge track was stopped and it detonated when soldiers reached . If they do not stop, they must be destroyed with deadly force. If Al-shabaab are in Afgooye or few miles from Balcad or even Sheabeelha hoose, that means they have a safe heaven to assemble their bombs. Everyone knows that these bombs are coming from a third party and the only way to eliminate the third party is to take over these safe havens. Amisom has bases in these regions, but they are defensive positions to protect big cities, but Al-shabaab controls the countryside. You need a huge offensive to chase until you reach the sea or the border. Also, the military intelligence must monitor the movements of the foreign troops since some of them are involved in selling their weapons or facilitating foreign intelligence operations. As I said it is a message and Farmaajo knows it very well who is delivering these message . If the Amisom can not wage an offensive to rid of Al-shabaab 60km from Mogadishu, then what is their use. Having huge bases in the city with thousands of soldiers who drive through Mogadishu wil not bring peace. In war torn Somalia , politicking and debating with ignorant Somalis would not take you anywhere. .You must have your own plan and flow it. When you assembling the cabinet, they will tell you that every tribe and clan must have enough ministers like a parliament, yet when you form a 70 people cabinet to satisfy the tribes , they still complain. THere are thousands of people who have never worked a day in their life who are politicking day and night. If these presidents had a visitation before they run for office, they would have implemented long ago. I see these video clips in Mogadishu and I see hundred of generals, and officers with neet clothes and grades in their shoulders, and I ask, which army these generals are commanding?. Every police and military assembly has hundreds of these fake officers. This nation needs few officers and bureaucrats, but more soldiers and front like officers.. I am screaming because , I have seen this movie before through Shariif Ahmed and Hassan Sheikh. Forget about this useless talk of capacity building, good governance, regional governments, London conference and all these NGO driven social issues, and concentrate national security and eliminating of the Al-shabaab threat. Three months months from now , it will be one year since you come to power, and for one year if you can not build a decent army, then we should be worrying.
  23. Holac, He has to try new strategy to solve these issues before he reigns. It is too early for that at the moment. He has a lot of tools to change course.
  24. Both the President and the prime minister are good men, but that is not enough. The president should be above the fray and maintain the constitutional order, but the prime minister should work hard and confront these threats. Sometimes, you might need a sacrificial lamp. Someone who will confront the Somali enemies and push as much as possible until he reduces the threat. In the meantime if he pushes too much and the government faces huge obstacle due to his plan, then he will resign and another one will finish. In 2015, Turkey faced a lot of unprecedented obstacles from Syria, the Kurds and the refugees. A turkish fighter jet shot a Russian plain and the country was pushed from every corner. The foreign policy of the prime ,minister Ahmed Davutoglu was non interventionist in the region while ISIS, Kurds and other loomed at the border. The country was circled from every side. THen Erdogan and the party decided to change the course, and prime minister Ahmed gracefully resigned and paved the way for the new policy. I n order to derail the new policy, bombings, terrorism and coup were orchestrated. Thankfully, the AKP survived all of those and came victorious. They entered Syria and removed the threat from their border. They also, realized that the Gulf financed wars of Syria could eventually destabilize Turkey. Khayre should gracefully resign and pave the way for new policy and leadership for a brand new strategy of confronting these threats. THis event should be a wake up call for Farmaajo.
  25. If this is not pearl Harbour or a D Day, as they say here i the west, I do not know what it is. As we speak the death toll has reached over 230 people while 300 are wounded. It is a tragedy for the Somali world. This is the biggest tragedy in the history of the Somali war against terror. THis kind of things used to happen in Iraq and Syria, and those people who financed that war with weapons are money have come home through corrupt spies and cooperation of the regional government. According to some insiders , it is the well crafted cooperation of UAE and Ethiopia. Through Al-shabaab and the foreign intelligence of Ethiopia that is providing the weapons and the bombs, while the UAE is doing the financing and political destabilizing of Somalia. The UAE have given Ethiopia a 20% stake both in Berbera and Boosaaso, and they are preparing t o do the same thing in KIsmaayo. How can a country that uses the these ports for imports and transit goods could stake in someone else's national assets. We were all surprised , but now everything's adding up. The gulf killers who maimed Iraq and Syria had come home to Somalia in cooperation with Ethiopia. Since we shed a big light on the activity of Ethiopia, the TPLF has changed course and employed the regional leaders and Dubai to do their dirty work. The Kenyan and Ethiopian spy and hypocrite (Munaafaq) called Ahmed Madoobe has orchestrated the political campaign to weaken the government . Shariif Hassan of Baidoa just called more Amisom troops in Somalia, and the fat man in Puntland is coordinating the issue with Ethiopia and Dubai. Folks, these are our enemies and we must defeat them in order to survive as a people in the horn of Africa. I do not want to spend any ink in Xaaf , the lame duck leader who is a former warlord and probably a criminal in his own right. Every things is becoming clear as we speak. two and half years ago when Hassan Sheikh was intimidated and bombed left and right including the storming of the parliament and Villa-Somalia, we told him to call Somalis for help " Waar yaa Soomaaliyaay dheh oo u Qaylsho dadka kartida leh ee dibkan ka saari kara Ummadda".. He changed the course, and rather call " Yaa Soomaaliyaay" he called Ethiopia for help and asked them to keep them in power. Sometines I ask myself, don't these leaders know that Somalia is in a big mess and the only way out is hard work and confronting the tough issues without emotions or comardaries. . Waar Kursi dhiig leh ayaad ku fadhiisatay oo u baahan dagaal iyo nabadayn labadaba Well, mr Farmaajo has to change course now. The prime minister has to go. He is too connected to Ethiopia to confront them. If this job was a cooperation and teamwork among friends , it would have done long time ago. Why established nations like America , with thousands of talented leaders and diplomats try to seek the best people to confront difficult issues when hiring ministers and secretaries? , why companies look serious managers to rescue them from difficult situation?. People spend hundred of ours to find and recruit capable managers with skills and tenacity to confront tough issues. Mudane Madaxweyne, Waxa la gaadhay wakhtigii aad talada u dhiibi lahayd dad karti, Ku dhac iyo hal adayg leh oo aan ahayn kuwa saaxiibka kula ah ama Hadhaagii Damujadiid. Usually in the early days of the new president there are alawys competting interest and the old guard like Damujadiid seeking to keep the staus quo, but after eight or ten months, you could feel those who , we northerns call " Macaan Jecel" who are there for their own benefit, and others that you brought in order to keep the old guard satisfied, must be thrown out. A new group of people who are not your friends or comrades must be brought in. There people who you might like but are capable to do the job. Mohamed Nuur Tarzan for prime minister. The time has come to bring the big guns and those Somalis who were tested and tried in the line of fire. Former mayor of Mogadishu Mr. Tarsan was those who built Mogadishu while he was constant fire from Al-shabaab and other criminals. He changed a war torn city with full of anarchists as livable and decent place to live and do business. Mr. Farmaajo, some of your supporters i n the diaspora,, in early 2011 and 2012, including Amin Amir, had attacked Tarzan for political reasons , in order to keep him challenging for the big job. Mr. President the time has come to change the course and confront Ethiopia and UAE. Prime minister Khayre is a good man , but he is not tough enough to confront these people, besides in order to keep his job and fight back against regional leaders and their supporters inside the parliament, he allied himself with Ethiopia and its ambassador to survive the constant impeachment pushed by Xidig, Shariif Hassan and Mahad Sallaad. He is an NGO guy who does not want to wage war against his former employers and Ethiopia. Tarzan will not be intimidated by no one. Al-shabaab used to call his cell phone daily and record threatening messages to his phone, yet he faced them without ridding tanks. He is from an orphanage, and he is not loyal to evil Somali tribes who are against their own interest and survival. Make him the new prime minister and change the course. Your in laws could not pull Somalia from this mess. Give the helms to Mr. Tarzan and ask him to nominate a lean 18 minister cabinet that is organized for security and economic issues only. THen reform the the parliament and cut their numbers from 330 to 230. Eliminate one hundred from the parliament and use that saving for the army and security. Despite all the work he has done in MOgadishu, the Somali enemies convinced Hassan Sheikh to fire Tarzan and replace with ametuer mayors who were not good enough to see the big picture. Mr. president, after what happened today, you can not hide or continue what you were doing before. This is a call for arms. It is do ar die for your government and the Somali people. Today must be the day Somalia turned the page. Galka seefta kalabax, wax kuu hadhay maanta ma jiraan. Hddiise aad hawsha halkii hore ka sii socoto ogow adiga iyo qaranka Soomaaliyeedba god hoose ayaad ku dhacaysaan. Kacaan cusub oo buluugla ayay ummaddu u baahan tahay si loo badbaadiyo. This day should mean the day Somalila changed and went to war to onfront its domestic and foreign enemies, otherswise this nation will be another Afghanistan for the next 10 years. Somalia must change course now or this mayhem will continue. Mourning or condolences are not enough. A change of
