  1. In fact, the guy asking the question doesn't even speak Maay. He was just a trouble maker trying to get his 15 minute .
  2. OO, I agree, the Democrats have a deeper ties , yet they know how to manipulate public opinion. On the issue of oil imports the Americans will have enough oil for their consumption by 2020. Even some energy analysts say that they could be even net oil exporter by then. Trump has allowed oil drilling and shell gas pumping every where including Alaska wild refugee. He relaxed environmental regulations to energize the oil industry. $80–90 dollars per barrel could be acceptable to everyone. Remember, it was the oil boom that brought tens of thousands of Somalis to Alberta, Canada. Thousands of our people work in the oil industry and we need the prices to stay up. Furthermore, there is no need for Iran oil. If this stupid environmental bandwagon pushed on nations like Canada is thrown out , we good old Canada can pump few more million barrels and you wouldn’t need Iran or anyone else. Our prime minister Trudeau is a good man , but he has to dump these job killing environmental regulations or he will be thrown out of office next year.
  3. I agree. I read some of the old posts of Mr. Kashoggi and mostly he tries to tell the kid to change course and stop imprisoning his own supporters. Che, you could right. Maybe Trump want some more money. The Democrats got an opening and who knows they might use this as an election issue.
  4. OOdweyne, I am probably late to respond to this thread. You remember about the boy who cried wolf? I kept hearing about the DPWorld is coming, and coming. So, I thought this was the typical propaganda to buy time again and again. Having said, I yet have to see the shovel on the ground and the equipment to build the port. Furthermore, I want to see the fine print. The old agreement prohibits building any other port , big or small in Somaliland which I totally reject. Any way, if this thing materializes , I will be the first to admit. t is not over, Let us wait and see.
  5. That is probably the biggest threat. Yet, American weapons manufacturing is a multi billion dollar industry that creates millions of jobs for Americans in more than two dozen states. That is another point. They young king should know that despite all the money he had thrown to the U.S , he needs to collaborate others in the region and stop the unnecessary attacks against Qatar. Further more, the American deep state and intelligence community are fueling the issue to damage Trump, Kushner and company. They had already leaked unverified intelligence reports which claimed the Americans had intercepted the prince and his people discussing the abduction of Mr. Kashoggi. If The Saudi leadership want to do something about this guy , they do not need to make a phone call or discuss it openly. All the king has to do is nod his head. There are other reports about the existence of video or pictures about the crime. It looks that Erdogan got a dagger on the head of Salman and company. He will probably use this issue to force the young king to change the course of his policy. Also, let us not forget that the Saudis have also a lot of cards and leverage against the Americans, and they could not be pushed that hard. Some estimates put the Saudi treasury bonds in U.S as close to $750 billion, while another $75 billion is invested in big American companies . If they start withdrawing some of that money things will shake in America. Despite all that problems, we do not want any calamity to befall in the Holly land of Makkah and Madinah. That is why Erdogan is treading slowly.
  6. As someone who spent a whole year in Wanlaweyn and surrounding regions, I can attest that the South West people are the finest Somalis in terms of hospitality and welcoming others. By the way, MMA , you should keep the legacy of your dad and aim high in the future of Somalia. Certainly you have the wisdom and the character to contribute to the future.
  7. Waan ku fahmay. Markaa , the Original Maay waxa looga hadlaa Bay iyo nawaaxigeeda. I was in Wanlaweyn during my national service and the surrounding communities spoke a perfect original Maay. Arrireey may Fadaase? In AFgooye an old man who had a restaurant there used to say "Minkoo Dhallalabo Nimaa Dhoobo uGu jirow " which was easy to understand . Qofkii dhalaalayaba midbaa dhoobada uGu Jira" Which means to shine someone must do the hard work. As you said the original Maay could stand alone without mixing of the slang by the diaspora.
  8. Here is some of his questions. "Dadka oo dagaalaha Gacanta Ku hay oo" This is not Maay . I do not speak Maay, yet I totally understood the question that guy was asking. I am not sure our own MMA could speak really well.
  9. I do not think that this guy is even speaking a real Maay. He is probably some of those Somalis from the diaspora or former resident of Bay who lost the language long time ago and trying to practice now. It was 95% Maxaad Tidhi and few Maay words. If Maay is just like that then it could disappear in a few years intermingling and trading with other regions. Look at these lyrics. It is difficult to understand unless you are a Maay speaker. These are the real Maay. https://youtu.be/ukV91Wuz1_w
  10. I do not wish the destabilizing of Saudi Arabia . The bloody Iranians had murdered with Assad hundred of innocent civilians and want to take over the middle east. I have been studying the Shia doctoring lately , and they are evil people who use an incident that took place 50 years after the death of the Prophet as a new religion. Taariikhda Islaamka waligood dhul ma furan cid aan Muslin ahayna lama dagaalamin. Waa Raafida wadadii saxda ahayd ka leexatay. Ogolaan mayno in Makka iyo Madiina fawdo la geliyo.
  11. Further more, the Turks are leaking some of the internal news unanimously without persecutors speaking about the case publicly. Kidnapping opponents is a familiar thing in the middle east, Russia and other totalitarian nations. It was a bad accident. It was kidnapping that went bad.
  12. Maakhri1, Everyone says that he did not leave the consulate. The Saudis had done this before. Usually they bring them home and the person changes his mind. So far they never openly murdered an opponent. By the way, are you saying they just killed and then took away with all the world watching? I do not think so. It was a failure of tranquilizers and then , they had no choice but to dump the body.
  13. Waa Mu'aamaro qoto dheer oo madaxa la iskugu gelinayo labada quwadood ee Sunniga ah.
  14. According to intelligence experts, the disappearance of the Saudi journalist Jamal Kashoggi could have been a botched kidnapping by the Saudi intelligence. Turkish authorities had shown pictures of Kashoggi intering the Saudi consulate in Tuesday , but no trace of his exit were found any where. Saudis had done before these kind of abductions of dissidents . Few years ago they kidnapped a prince from Geneva, Swisserland. Knowledgebale people say that the Saudis had injected to Mr. Kashoggi somekind of tranquilizer to disable him and take him home. My hunch is that Since the Saudis are not expert of these things, the Israeli Mosad or the UAE mercenaries probably administer or arranged the chemical solutions to create diplomatic rift between the Turkish Republic and the Saudis. Unlike UAE, the Saudis have relatively good relationship Turkey. Despite some huge differences between the Turks and Saudis in the middle east from Syria to Palestine, it is the duty of these two Muslim Sunni powers to cooperate in many different area. Besides , like us Somalis, the Turks are the guardians of the holly places of Mekkah and Medinah. In my opinion , this was a trap worked up by those who want to harm both countries, I Urge president Erdogan no to rush on judgement of the Saudi actions. It is a sad and botched incident, but the well being of the two nations is much bigger than a journalism. Mr Kashoggi needs justice, but before real blame is casted, a deep sided intelligence work must be done. I might be wrong but, I do believe that the UAE and their mercenaries had administered an over dose or a dangerous chemical to kill the man on the spot and create an international incident. In intelligence circles, when these kind of things happen, the first thing you ask is who is benefitting from this incident? the answer is simple. UAE and Israel.
  15. Istanbul, Turkey – Saudi Arabia will allow Turkish authorities to search the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, the Turkish foreign ministry said, a week after the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi during a visit to the premises. "Saudi authorities let us know that they are open to cooperation and an examination can be carried out in the consulate building," Hami Aksoy, a foreign ministry spokesperson, said in a statement on Tuesday. Two Turkish prosecutors have been assigned to manage the planned search at the consulate building, state media reported. The date and time of the search have yet to be announced. Khashoggi, a Saudi writer critical of government policies, entered the consulate on October 2, to handle a routine paperwork issue, but he never came out, Turkish authorities say. Anonymous Turkish sources told the Reuters news agency on Saturday there was evidence he was killed inside the building in what they called a "premeditated murder". Saudi officials talking to state media have said that the journalist left the consulate after his visit, denying the Turkish claims. The country's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman previously said Turkish authorities were welcome to conduct a search and his country had nothing to hide. Saudi Arabia's ambassador was summoned to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs twice in the last week over the issue. US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he has not yet spoken with Saudi Arabian officials about the disappearance of Khashoggi. Trump, speaking to reporters at the White House, said he does not know anything about Khashoggi's disappearance and that he would speak with Saudi officials at some point about the situation.
  16. They are not done, but a soon as real election takes place the Tigray power will disappear for good. THey are leas than 7% of the population. In a parliament of over 500 people , they will be insignificant. If I ware Abiy Ahmed, I would call the election as soon as possible . Next summer of 2019 could be the perfect time.
  17. Roobow defected just last year after long reign of terror. He celebrated when his group bombed markets and Hotels. It is too early to jump from Al-Shabaab to leader of South West. I do not like the idea of using defectors. It is a lazy and cheap policy of fishing individuals from these movements. Historically, it never ended insurgency any where. In fact, it creates more animosity between him and his former comrades. Everyone knows that the moment Kenyans leave so does Ahmed Madoobe. If you want to change policy, talk directly to the Al-shabaab leaders rather than court defectors. On the issues of Farmaajo nephew, I would like to say few words. I am not surprised. It is a new way of covering up or misleading people in order to hide and trick people. Those us from Somaliland are familiar with these things. When Ahmed Siilaanyo or I should say, Hirsi A. Hassan nominated the early ministers of the Siilaanyo government, almost half of them were either family members, in laws or people who were related some how. Two of the ministers from Awdal were married to ladies from Burco. Another way that is done in Hargeisa is that if a minister is from the wrong clan or not belonging to the inner circle, then they appoint an associate minister or the director general who might have more powers. Have you seen "Xaflada soo dhaweynta Agaasimaha Cusub", where top government ministers show up for the proclamation of the new guy?. The idea of Farmaajo using in laws or people married to them is familiar now in Mogadishu. All most all the early police and military leaders were related from the mothers said. I wouldn't mind if they were competent. Ama gabadh baa dhashay, ama gabadh buu ka qabaa, ama xigto kale ayey yihiin. Raisal Wasaaruhu sidaasu ku yimid , kuwa kalena wadadaas ayey ku yimaadeen.
  18. MMA, Saaxiib I understand that Dr. Bayle has done a great job in terms of financial management of the country, but being a leader and being a manager are two different things. As I said, he is good manager who is well qualified to do these tasks. Yet, I do believe that today, Somalia needs tough leaders who see the world differently than the managers brought up by the rigged system of the world banks, Arab bank and other NGO led organizations. Do not get me wrong, people like Bayle will always have a role in helping the nation, but not tough enough to crush the ruthless Somali system that need to be dismantled. These people have deeply adopted the culture of begging others and fulfilling the orders of their benefactors. They never created one single job in their lives. The kind of Somalia we are envisioned will be totally different than the ones led by Bayle, Farmaajo , Hassan Sheikh and others. Last week Bayle said " The IMF will be printing money for us" . Folks, nations decide and manage the printing of their money. It is the Farmaajo way of giving all decisions to the Americans, whether it is the drone, the money printing or military issues. . Holac, I will run without a clear plan. The kind of change I would be advocating will not only touch the government system, but will effect the way Somalis live, trade and conduct their daily lives. It will effect the Somali race economically, socially and the traditional way of living including the overall behavior of the people. .It will touch whether they live in Hargeisa, Diinsoor , Eyl, Minneapolis, London and Nairobi. It will be the change of the century that will transform what it means to be Somali in the 21st century. There will be pain and price to be paid by everyone. Since when nations and people get their freedom, independence and sovereignty without sacrifices? Never. Since large number of Somalis have been taking and taking material gains for 50 years without hard work , there will uproar ( Tolaaayeyda iyo Qaylada waxa laga maqli meelo fog). If you do not work , you will not be eating. Political maneuvering and replacing commanders every six months would not cut it. Two years ago , Serious people said that if Farmaajo concentrated for next few years without worrying about re-election and does his best to build the army and somewhat pacify the capital it could be called a success. The biggest fallacies are that relatively educated Southern politician thinks that they could transform and pacify Somalia by being clever and politicking . Waxa ay u haystaan , xadhko la isku xidhxidho iyo khiyaamo in Qaran dhan lagu nabadaynayo ayagoon wax ka bedelin Nidaamkan ragaaday. Can anyone would point out one single huge sacrifice done by the Somali state and people to rise from the ashes. By the way, if there is one professor that I wouldn't mind joining and waging war together, would be Abdi I. Samatar, who is not only informed but also is tough just like Caasha A. Cabdalle.
  19. She is also tough Somali traditionall woman She said” Doqon Afar Buug soo Akhriyey” I agree. A secluded fool that doesn’t even have the basic human touch , knowledge of traditional Somali culture, and basic leadership skills , would rise a high horse take the helm. Do you know how many of these professors have failed so far? Take a guess. Galaydh, Ahmed Samatar, Cali Gedi and much more. Where else in the world did you see a professor running a government? No where. Their students create billions and earn billions while he remained in the life static academy. Of course from time to time you might need to counsel with them since they have certain knowledge and experience that need to be implemented by the politicians . Yet, teaching politics and retailing of politics and dealiing with people sre totally two different things. In Canada, Michael Ignitef, a member of the hundred most influential scholars in the world, was defeated by small time conservative oprstive in the election. Samafal, C/bayle, The finance minister , is a bureaucrat that will do a good job of counting the money , but wouldn’t challenge the Ansaloti and Dayniile boys. It is all about the mind set. Also, another one of those who read a lot of books told them that only The D block and HAG are allowed to run for high office. The Good news is some us are ready to kick butt and play ball with the southern boys.
  20. Dadkayga waan kala aqaanaa. Walaahi, it has been a long time since I had seen her in the news, but Caasha has been always those I counted among the Honorable Somali nationalist. It has been just last week that i was trying to find the list of few good men and women, and I remembered her. Soomaalida isbedel doonka ahi liiska ha ku darsato. I know the northern unionists are among the best and only , we the northern unionists could fix the Mogadishu quagmire.
  21. . Farmaajo won't come back and Hassan is an old story. Hassan Sheikh is done, the Somali political card is one time use. We need a new alternative group that has new ideas.
  22. Xaaji, that is the right response. It is an arrangement to get cash. Why keep beating the bush and waste your time about Galbeedi this and that. Saaxiib isku kalsoonow and learn to play with big boys.
  23. Folks, the talks are not ended by Somaliland. It was Hassan Sheikh who ended when he got nothing in return. mom the issue of parliament, it is probably the easiest thing to pass through. During the reign of Ahmed Siilaanyo, there were legally binding rule passed by the parliament during he Rayaale administration that prohibited sitting and talking to Somalia. Yet, Siilaanyo said “ qof badan isku qufulnay” and convened a meeting of minds and passed another deal that allowed him to talk. It is that simple.
