Has Wikipedia accepted Somaliland as a reality from now on
Tallaabo replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
Why do people question our(Landers) presence in SOL? This is a private business owned by an individual from Puntland and I am sure he would hate to see us go elsewhere. If this forum was owned by SFG or any other political entity from Koonfuria, then such questions would have some relevance, but this forum has nothing to do with the political entities and administrations in Somalia. It is a social forum open to all Somalis regardless of their geographic locations, so please stop this nonsense. -

Haatu;991505 wrote: Of course they don't but a Somali will always give you their opinion whether or not it is welcome. Somaliland's secession should be conditional upon them leaving SSC alone and letting Awdal go to Jabuuti. Mr Haatu, don't you think that is a decision for the people of those regions? Personally, I am of the opinion that any region which wants to manage their own affairs should be given the opportunity to do so. So I would welcome if Khaatumo is given a referendum to choose their political future. -

Allyourbase;991523 wrote: Absolutely, I think these are the sort of questions that muslims today ought to look into. An objective look into all issues that are not compatible with our modern understanding of the world and a process of revaluation are key if the Islamic societies of today are to avoid regressing back in time. It is not about "regressing back in time" but sorting out the authentic Islamic traditions from the inevitable pollution from various cultures over the time. If regressing back in time involves getting back to basics, then I welcome it.

Aristotelese;991474 wrote: I have already thought about that, but I don't think that somaliland or puntland wants to voluntary give up these regions. The black gold is too tempting for them. Also in general losing half of your territory isn't desirable to the somaliland government. If they had shared the power with these people in past it would have changed many things. A somaliland which is backed up by all of the inhabitants would be a hole different story. Firstly, there is no proof of any "black gold" anywhere in Somaliland. At the moment it is all a guess work. Secondly, the troublesome eastern regions do not constitute half the country but even if they did, a smaller more united, more manageable, more peaceful and harmonious county is preferable to a larger more disunited and chaotic one. I would rather live in peaceful Ghana than a chaotic violent Congo. Size does not matter that much.

Safferz;991466 wrote: You're right Tallaabo, BU is a great school but sometimes the teasing between the Boston area schools can get quite intense. Those brats over at Harvard and MIT think they're better than everyone  Sure they got a LOT more than BU but education at all those institutions is the same and learning always depends on the student's ambitions and hard work.

DoctorKenney;991098 wrote: You see what this Kaffir is doing? He keeps referencing Taymiyah and Albaani and Aisha when I repeatedly stated at least 10 times here......that they were WRONG on this issue. And that they were humans, and capable of being incorrect sometimes. If 98% of Muslims say one thing.....and 2% say another thing. He wants to keep focusing on the small 2%. Typical arrogance. How else am I supposed to reason with a man who refuses to argue in a reasonable manner? How am I supposed to engage with someone who throws logic and honesty out the window? Again....I hate nothing more than repeating myself. So this is the last point I'm gonna make. Read my posts and read my links here. I've done my job If you believe these important people were wrong about this particular issue, don't you think they and the other Islamic scholars could also be wrong about a lot of other issues including homosexuality?

Aristotelese;991447 wrote: OK let's sayif it is really coming to the point where everything is breaking apart then it have to be between clan groups. Whenever we see a region inhabitanted by more than one clan problems will appear like in somaliland. There are people who disagree with the state so what are they gonna do to them. Just forcing them to obey or kick out of Somaliland?. The thing about territories is very important and difficult to handle. The solution is very simple. Once Somaliland is recognised by the international community those troublesome eastern regions would be given a referendum to choose which country they wish to be part of- Somaliland or Somalia.

That's a low blow Khayr, he knows I'm self-conscious about being a Boston University student and he thinks he can mock me  Boston University is very good too and many student wish to go there, so I can't understand why you are not happy with it:confused:

Aristotelese;991441 wrote: Of course it could end like you say After all, they had endured 50 years together and maybe they learned something in the time that prevents the ********* we are seeing the last 20 years. I think Somalis have learned enough during the last 53 years of catastrophic union that the breakup of what was called the Somali Republic into at least two entities if not more is inevitable.
