Leaving the notorious Arabian racism for now, let us discuss some very peculiar programme the Saudis are running. It is well know by all of us here that Saudi Arabia never gives scholarships of any kind to our poor Somali students who deserve any help they can get. However thw picture changes when it comes to young Somali men in the west who are well educated and gratuated from universities. I keep seeing these young gratuates easily getting very generous scholarships and leaving for Saudi Arabia to study Islam. They almost always come back changed and with Wahabi views. I am not saying that I am against those who follow Abdul Wahabi's teachings of Islam but I don't understand why the Saudis are giving such opportunities to an already well educated and affluent group of Somalis whilst ignoring those poor students who need and deserve their help.

@Samafal said: Malistar you speaking like the goverment is owned by your family. The Goverment was formed to serve all but if tried to dictate things you know the people you dealing with. Hassan is president by name, he will lose that too. So its better for you to come down from your high horse. Sxb cid cid u dawladaynkarta ma jirto. Dawlada ama waanu wada lahaan ama way ina wada dayn. The choice is yours. Well said.

Dr K saaxiib you are missing the point. There is no debate about the fact that every society on earth has its fair share of racism and prejudice against other groups, but what makes the Arabs different to all others is that not only they openly look down upon poorer fellow Muslims in good times but they hypocritically use the Islam and "brother" card to globalise their problems and exploit the dimwits in other Muslim societies. You don't hear about Afghanis, Indonesians, Nigerians, Pakistanis, or even Somalis recruiting Arabs and other Muslims to join their internal conflicts. You don't see Arab jihadis rushing to defend their Muslim brothers in Burma and in the Central African Republic from systematic genocide. Where were our Arab jihadi brothers when George W Bush financed the Ethiopian army ("the infidel Christians") to massacre Muslim women and children in Mogadishu? Of course you don't hear many Arab imams crying about the suffering of their African or Asian brothers and sisters; but what you do hear are these Arab imams going on about Palestine, Iraq, Syria, and Egypt as if the entire Muslim ummah is found within just these few countries. @DoctorKenney said: Tallaabo, how is it that you citing incidents of Arab racism going to change my original post in the slightest? Did I not already acknowledge that yes, some Arabs are indeed racist? Are you not aware that Arabs are humans and some of them are going to be messed up and immoral? You're actually the one showing prejudice and racism against Arabs, and I dare you to approach the average Arab Muslim you see in the West and try and claim that he's a racist buffoon who hates all Black people. It's funny how you give White People the benefit of the doubt, even though we hear of constant stories of Greek racism, French racism, Italian racism, etc. And I showed you that Somalis are just as racist as Arabs and most other ethnic groups. But when it comes to Arabs, you don't wanna give them that benefit of the doubt. You wanna lump them into one category. And you conveniently forget that Arabs themselves are divided. Egyptians can't stand Gulf Arabs. Gulf Arabs hate Syrians. Lebanese Arabs don't like Jordanians, etc. When you're making an argument, it's best to know what you're talking about. P.S. If you wanna talk about "institutionalized racism" don't give me that garbage. You live in Europe presumably, and it's a very well-known fact that institutionalized racism exists in Europe, in India (it's a huge problem in India), in China, in Malaysia, in Nigeria, etc.

I think the next terrorist group should name itself Coca Cola, McDonald's, or Nike :-D

@DoctorKenney said: For Tallaabo to constantly cite the racism of the Arabs is outright dishonesty. You should visit Malaysia and see racism, you should see Chinese racism, or Italian racism against Blacks. Or even Russian racism where foreigners are KILLED in broad daylight. But he wants to reference Arab racism, because in reality he wants to discredit Arabs in the eyes of all Blacks and Somalis, as if discrediting Arabs is going to do ANYTHING for Islam. It's ridiculous. Arabs are less than 20% of the Muslim Ummah, some are good, some are bad, and some are in-between. Arabs are humans just like everyone else and they have their weaknesses. But for Tallaabo to complain about Arab racism, as if other people aren't racist, shows me his outright dishonesty. Why doesn't he tell me about Somalis and their racism towards Bantu Somalis? Or their racism towards Midgaan Somalis or Reer Xamar Somalis? What a hypocrite wallahi!!! http://humantraffickingsearch.net/wp/camel-jockeys-in-the-uae/ http://m.hrw.org/news/2010/09/02/saudi-arabia-domestic-worker-brutalized http://m.allafrica.com/stories/201407050457.html/ Even the non-Muslim societies you conveniently mentioned to defend Arabian barbarity do not institutionalise xenophobia and racism. The Somali prejudice against the minorities is indefensible and I am on the record speaking against it.

@Khayr said: Tu Quoqoe at its best. Your logical fallacy that because CidSultan disagrees makes him a hyprocigr - is total bs. Unlike yourself, waving the "Pink" flag of Islam and havingn an attachment to the deen only in certain convienant personal matters. Cidan doesn't have to leave or go anywhere. Infact, why don't you go join your awliya al shayateen since your views parallel theirs. Go join the estrogen parade since you are pro-gay. Go join the military since you are so anti-muslim resistance. Why don't you join BBC or Fox news, since you think like them and speak like them. And finally.... Go kick rocks! Unlike people like you I don't hate western freedom, justice, and democracy which gave you the security and comforts your relatives in Africa lack. I don't cheer for the same tyrany which brought you to the west begging for asylum. I don't insult or betray the western people who opened their homes and hearts to our refugee families and lick the boots of racist Arab societies who would not hesitate a second to lash your @rse like a slave. Seriously you have got a twisted mind.

http://phys.org/news/2014-08-biometrics-expert-honest-election-somaliland.html I think president Silaanyo realised that chaotic elections can create serious instability in the country so I am glad he is now taking the elections registeration seriously.

@CidanSultan said: I don't need lessons on hypocrisy from a Polythiest who worships a monkey. You can't dodge a valid question. If you are so in love with the "righeous caliphate" being established in the Middle East, why don't you join them and leave the decedent, failed, and dying western lifestyle you are currently enjoying for the heathens like Xabad? Don't you realise that no one will stop you at the airport if you decide to leave the western world for good? I have have an enormous respect for those brave men like Shirdoon's nephew who burned their western passports and declared an open war on their former homelands, but the weaklings who cover their faces and then sneak back into the west or those who never leave but instead become keyboard warriors have no moral grounds to stand on.

@Che -Guevara said: First of all, your not so subtle prejudice and immoral attitude towards fellow Somalis is noted. Secondly, the belligerent behavior by Puntland can plunge Somalia back into tribal warfare, both in the south and north. Any and all consequences of such possibility or outcome will be Puntland's responsibility. Lastly, the Somali Federal Constitution was never put to vote; Somali public needs to be given the opportunity to vote for or against it. A morally and financially bankrupt feudal clan fiefdom might carry out an armed robbery in the high seas but it cannot bring instability to the blessed democratic Republic of Somaliland.

@CidanSultan said: The number one enemy of islam is authoritarian regimes such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt Syria etc 170,000 are dead in Syria and America didn't intervene the Islamic state takes parts of Iraq and 2000 yazidis are trapped on top of a mountain and the whole world must act What double standards. They are saying die Sunnis die, we don't care if you die. Please die, we will support regimes that kill you and oppress you. I think you need to learn the ABC of international politics. The west did not interver in the Syrian civil war because the Syrian government resisted such a move whereas the government of Iraq invited the west to help in its fight against the barbaric terrorists.

Somalia / Afganstan /Libya / could used this money draught will be history ....... Do you mean the corrupt leaders of the koonfuria administration could use this money to top up their already well stocked personal bank accounts?

Alahunaxaristo. If we follow your absurd logic we will be led to conclude that the entire unpaid and abused Puntland security forces will at any minute commit mass suicide using every available tree in Garowe.

They can't be stopped but they will probably all die of AIDS as they they are also too ignorant to seek the help of STI clinics. They will spread their germs only to their unsuspecting wives and other loose women.

Mogadishu on fire as security continue to disarm HAG heavyweights

@Cadale said: doctor, You may not know daaci personally but i do. Daaci is not a mooryaan he's a hero he defended his Wadajir district from Al shabaab without amisom and he defeated them dozen of times and im talking about 2009-2011 never ever did Al shabaab manage to capture his district. He lost his leg from a explosion and still he did his job protecting the people of the district. He takes care of more than 200 agoon kids all from his own pocket. it's unfortunate it's first time in 9 years there was fightings in the district and the sad thing it's government troops attacking its citizens. Amisom indiscrimintely shelled the the civilians. alot of movements going on the civilians are really angry xaalada wey kacsantahay the youth are coming from all the way from kaaraan to take part of the fightings. Daaci is currently outside wadajir and preparing for a offensive and he got a huge support from reer wadajir and kaaraan no kidding. As you know the man on a personal level it is likely you have seen some good aspects of his personality. But the activities of this warlord and what he stands are a clear obstacle to peace and order in the region and so he should be eliminated. -
Mogadishu on fire as security continue to disarm HAG heavyweights
Tallaabo replied to malistar2012's topic in Politics
Mogadishu's warlords are like Mexico's drug barons. Both of these groups profit from the misery and insecurity of the people in the societies they have infested like rats carrying plague. No among of negotiations, appeals, or reasoning will persuade them to choose law and order over anarchy and mayhem. The only way the evil activities of these warlords can be stopped is to uproot them violently from the society. Mogadishu should be cleansed of their influence. -
@smartlander said: They have no leaders who cares for them. Somalilanders wallahi we should feel proud that at least our leaders do something for us even if they are corrupt they still are held accountable to some degree Look at madoobe for example he takes money from sea port and airport did he even build one road for kismayo since 2012 he is just warlord hes not a leader hes in nairobi more than kismayo loool There are good trolls and there are the bad trolls. You are definitely among the latter group.

@Che -Guevara said: Why would anyone wish to take part in Arab civil wars? What's their reasoning? Apparently the Somali civil war is not "holy" enough for them. In their misguided minds, only by getting killed in a foreign land where they are regarded as ugly slaves from black Africa can these men enter paradise.

@DoctorKenney said: The people get the leaders they deserve. When a people protest because a businessman from Reer Hebel wants to invest in their little tuulo, and the locals are angry and upset because this Somali businessman is not from their sub-clan, then we have a serious problem here. The politicians are just a reflection of the deep corruption which exists within the people. That is exactly what Islam teaches but then strangely no one does anything about it. We only hear people complaining about the poor state of their affairs.

@DoctorKenney said: None of these various approaches would have any lasting effects unless we create a bottoms-up approach to creating a Somali nation. It has to start from the villages, and then to the regions, and then to the nation. That's the only possible way we can do it. Somalia exists on paper, but it doesn't exist on the ground. And all of these failed politicians with PhD's and tribal mentalities are only making these problems worse. How can you create a nation from the bottom up when you have neither the means necessary for such a task nor the allies you need to help you do it? The obstacles are many and include these: 1. Poverty 2. Ignorance 3. Illiteracy 4. Entrenched clan system 5. Broken society 6. The legacy of civil war and the hate and mistrust it created. 7. Enemies within and around 8. Violence 9. Corruption 10. Nepotism

@Tillamook said: Damn Tallaabo, what's up with all the Self-deprecation today? Even if things are not going too well these days in Somaliland, I believe the people of waqooyiga have a golden opportunity now to push aside all the failed politicians currently in charge who think good governance is pushing problems under the carpet, telling lies to the people and arresting anyone who disagrees with them by labeling them as anti-Somaliland. I believe, it is never too late. We need brave men and women of Waqooyiga to stand up and change the status quo in Hargaysa. It is neither self-depreciation nor the first time I described Somaliland the way it is, but you are right to say that failed politicians have become our curse. Their grip on power is so entrenched I don't think we will have any decent leader or government in the foreseeable future.
