  2. @Asad Ahmed said: clan project Sl is total failure. Not according to those who neither get blown to bits every time they visit the shops nor run over by an African armoured vehicle when ever they attempt to cross the road.
  3. @Coofle said: @Talaabo..qurbajoogtu waa somalilands equivalent of american super PACs, itoobiya in la shaqaynteeda la soo hadal qaadanaa waa our AIPAC!. 4. Getting recognition depends on a lot of factors in the geo-politics of the day, but I think the better question to ask is what has Somaliland achieved in the last quarter of a century? The answer of this question depends on who you ask. If you ask the politicians and the successive governments in Somaliland, then the answer is scandalously little is achieved. But if you ask the Somaliland public what they achieved in these 25 years, they will probably say that they successfully rebuild their shattered homes and lives after the disastrous civil war.
  5. They are just causing unnecessary traffic jam in an already busy town. Anyway, why is he in America and not campaigning in the towns and villages where the voters live? Somaliland's politics is so useless it serves no one but those who made it their business.
  6. @Che -Guevara said: I like the ominous music. This is fear-mongering! There are several things here: 1. Somalis are not innovators hence no one can come with any ideas that will result in good jobs. We rather build ugly hotels and brag ngo funded projects. 2. If you are too proud to do menial jobs, let's not complain about those who are willing to do it. 3. There is NO real Somali Government in the Horn that has control of its borders and proper immigration policies. 4. There is no government that can formulate and implement social and economic policies that will trigger prosperity. 5, What we have a click of mafia businessmen, so called wadaado class, sleazy politicians and oday dhaqmadeed that are sucking life out of everything. The youth and our women have no say. 6. As long as the youth and women continue being docile, nothing will change in any Somali territory. 7. Relationships with foreign countries will be one sided. In any case, the flow of the Oromo will continue, it is also happening in Puntland and lesser extent in the South. The answer to this problem will be complicated, but it needs courageous leaders and a public willing to fight for its future. That said, the Horn of Africa is powderkeg waiting to explode, It is only a matter of time before Woyane are eliminated as political force. They have made the mistake of awakening the sense of ethnic identity. I co-sign
  7. This video looks like and sounds like the anti-Semitic propaganda of Nazi Germany in the 1930s. The Oromos and Jaarso (whatever they are) are just desperately poor people who had to leave their land and villages to make ends meet. They are not sophisticated enough to be having hidden agenda such as the one this preposterous video is suggesting. Moreover, the people we are talking about are Muslim like us and therefore we should not slander them in anyway or form.
  8. @Coofle said: @che .. sadly, its true and it is a testimony of our hypocricy, we are running qabiil city states not a country.hadii kale saalax will prove me wrong. I believe oromo-somalilanders will vote for a man of qodaal not that of hawd iyo bari lol Being an independent democratic state and being tribal are not mutually exclusive. Every country has the right to set its own immigration and citizenship politicies and Somaliland is not any different. The Gulf states, Korea, Japan, and a lot of other countries are just as tribal in their immigration policies as Somaliland is so your argument has no merit whatsoever. I do agree with you though about the positive impact diversity would have on our politics and development if we had a larger immigrant communities with the right to vote.
  9. Saalax I don't understand why Somaliland needs to have any relationship with the Djibouti dictatorship. Djibouti is of no use to Somaliland as we don't trade with them. Indeed they are our bitter rivals when it comes to handling Ethiopia's maritime trade through our Berbera port. They are desperate to kill off Berbera's modernisation so that the Ethiopians continue to depend on them. I hope whoever wins the election and forms the next government pays zero attention to the clinically obese man in that French mercenary boot camp.
  10. I am shocked that Djibouti disrespected the legitimate leaders from Somalia by seating a fraudster amongst them. Mr Siilaanyo's term as president ended ages ago and should not be invited to participate any gathering anywhere to represent the people of Somaliland.
  11. @Mooge said: thats good news niyoow. london needed a change from that fat Turkish boy known as Boris Johnson. Boris is not Turkish. I think his grandfather or great grandfather was Turkish but he considers himself English-American.
  12. For fellow Londoners, did you vote for him? And what are your views of him?
  13. http://www.nst.com.my/news/2016/05/143486/somali-student-faces-death-sentence-trafficking-khat-leaves?m=1 I have no sympathy for drug dealers but in this case I hope the sentence is commuted to a custodial one to reflect the cultural background of the accused.
  14. As the Siilaanyo administration is going out within a year, some of those who have a weak spot for corruption and who were restrained by the Somaliland law and system might of course look for opportunities elsewhere. And as it turns out, Xamar cadeey today is unrivalled as a destination for those who have a "get rich quick" plans.
  15. @galbeedi said: These hopeless youth need a to get back their pride , and that pride is a free, prosperous and dynamic Somalia. Unless that goal is achieved both the Somali youth back home and in the diaspora will suffer. The "Somalia" you are talking about had never had any peace and prosperity since the colonial powers left it's shores, so what magic tricks have you got under your sleeve to bring this elusive peace and prosperity to a failed state? How can you say the MJ youth can't find pride in a peaceful, prosperous, and independent Puntland which is realistically always going to be more cohesive than a chaotic entity full of resentful rival clans put together by foreign peacekeepers? How can you say the Jubbaland youth can only find pride in a corrupt administration put together by the neighbouring states and a bunch of unelected old men residing a capital city owned by a rival clan, but not their own independent, peaceful, and prosperous Jubbaland?
  16. I don't know why the koonfurian folks insist on being humiliated and colonised by their African neighbours. Instead of this unworkable clan federalism, why don't each clan/region go their separate way and become an independent state? Puntland can become an independent country. So is Jubbaland, Banaadir along with the HAG inhabited central region, and the Baydhabo folks can also be free of the rest. I am sure Somalis can't be in a worst condition than the one they are in now. There are so many mini states in the world who are doing much better than large but poor and unstable ones. Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Brunei, Singapore, Luxembourg, Malta, and many more are way better nations than many chaotic giants in the world. Djibouti is a mini state run by our own people but unlike the failed state called Somalia, it is a success story. Somalis tried a unitary and democratic state but failed, tried a unitary dictatorship but failed, tried 4.5 but failed, and have also tried clan federalism but again failed. How much more should this failure continue before we come to the conclusion that a mutually agreed partition is the best option available? I am sure four or five independent states in the former Somali Republic will not be any worst the the disaster we have today.
  17. @galbeedi said: Any legitimate Somali leader should have arrested him on the spot and charge him with espionage, corruption, bribery and even causing total mayhem . I would have arrested my first day of the job to send clear message. You can not get elected/selected without general Gabre's (who is the real boss) approval. Even if you got his initial backing but then start to go off course, he will give you a gentle reminder that you are his employee. Such a reminder might include you being detained and tortured by the same guys you were counting on for your planned arrest of general Gabre.
  18. It is nice to prove everyone wrong. Everyone though the club had no chance, the ageing Italian manager had no talent, and the Leicester CEO was mad to appoint a failed manager.
  19. @Tallaabo said: Shiekh Aadan speaks the truth. But as Coofle said, the Scottish guy can't be bothered without hard evidence.
  20. Coofle, the way the whole case was conducted and publicised smells of an organised campaign to scare people and make the poor guy an example. No one cares about proper justice in Somaliland and the courts are so corrupt, so the poor guy is just a sacrificial lamb for the government's environmental campaign. The recurrent droughts created a lot of worry for the government and everyone in Somaliland but the few remaining trees are still being cut to make charcoal. As the government can't afford to police the whole countryside, they are probably using this unlucky fellow to send a message.
  21. @Ilbir said: You sir are dangerously stupid. Calling Naturopaths witch doctors is akin to abuse of a professional. You are the same idiot who has his worthless children vaccinated. You also believe fluoride is truly needed for healthy teeth & that chemotherapy actually cures cancer! lol.... You are uneducated. Ignoring your uncalled for insults let me clarify my comment. The witch doctors I referred to in my comment are not Naturopath practitioners in any sense of the word. I don't think there are any Naturopathy clinics in Somaliland apart from the Chinese one. The fraudulent guys I was talking about are the so-called "faith healers" or the fake wadaado who hide behind the Quraan to rip off the public. The Naturopathy practitioners are in my opinion more logical and trustworthy than the lot we have in Somaliland.
  22. @Coofle I go to Somaliland regularly and I was saddened to notice that in the absence of proper healthcare, the witch doctors have set up shops everywhere. What these immoral men do is not only a financial exploitation of the poor and ignorant, but also now becoming a public health hazard. People with all sorts of illnesses which can include contagious diseases queue for the services of these fraudsters and then go back to their homes and families with only a bag of worthless herbs and powders. The equally useless government in charge of the country does absolutely nothing to stop those dangerous witch doctors or educate the vulnerable public.
  23. The ladies are silent which can only mean one thing Mr Maxamad; they are politely asking you to leave them alone to climax in peace.
