At least the fascists have realised there is no longer an entity called Somalia worth mentioning in their hate-filled propaganda, hence they have started to have a go at Somaliland But still I must say that unfortunately everything the bigot mentioned is not that far from the truth.

Mr MMA, I am neither one of a dying breed nor fancy polluting my mind with intoxicants but I am just a diehard fan of facts. It is beyond ridiculous when your lot in Koonfuria are watching your own territories being annexed by other countries whilst you are are engaged in futile protestations about the business dealing of a nation that has taken care of its interests. It is like protesting about the choice of colours of your neighbour who is happily re-painting his house in time for summer while your own house is on fire. I am not sure about the existence of any group of people who are more out of touch with reality than your lot.

Could the cold war in East Africa remain that or will go to hot war
Tallaabo replied to Old_Observer's topic in Politics
Anyone who wants to change regimes in Somaliland or Somalia has got to wait only few years. Unlike all our neighbours, our change of leadership by a democratic election in the case of Somaliland or tribal selection in the case of Somalia is frequent. -
The Americans are isolating themselves. China will continue to trade with the rest of the world. By the way, the Huawei p10 phones are awesome!!

While Koonfuria is in the gym working out, building muscles do you expect Somaliland to be sitting on the couch watching the telly?

Professor Samatar is not the type of people who go into politics for personal enrichment as he has already got enough to last him a lifetime. Rather he is into politics to put into practice what he has been theorising for decades in university lecture halls. In other words he is looking for an opportunity to change people's lives with his knowledge and experience. I hope he is put in charge of the economy. He is sorely needed.

You are making big claims with no effort to substantiate them Mr Galbeedi. You claimed that Dubai and Abu Dhabi with be the scene of another Gulf war without telling us who will be fighting such a conflict. Don't you know that the Iranians are among the most successful groups in the UAE? And that trade between Iran and the UAE is booming?
-
Mr Galbeedi, the world does not work the way you would like it to work - those you hate(UAE, Somaliland) get destroyed and those you love(Koonfuria, Turkey) prosper. UAE will still be a very wealthy and influencial country in 50 years time inshaallah markaa habaarka jooji. Indeed no country is more artificial today than that of villa AMISOM and Turkey might even lose its Kurdish region. Their oppression of the Kurdish people can only be tolerated so much.

Waar Oodka, I couldn't help but chuckle at the "Afghanistan model". It is basically what we in Somaliland have had to deal with for the last twenty eight years!!! I had no idea that the occupants in Villa Somalia where a "toy government" created by wicked academics I really feel sorry for our leaders for they think there is a normal government in Mogadishu. Yaa ragga u sheega inay "toys" la shiraan The other thing you forgot to mention is that unlike the "English speaking"(another funny thing) Cameroonians, Somaliland is an actual state, and indeed a better state than not only the one it seceded from but better than many other recognised states as well.
-
Thanks for the information but what you have forgotten is that unlike the United Kingdom and other countries who tried this monetary policy of fixing their currency exchange to that of a larger economy, Somaliland's economy is already completely dollarised and our currency is not internationally traded. We buy and sell in US dollars, receive our remittance in US dollars, and even collect taxes in US dollars. So in effect pegging the Somaliland shilling to the US Dollar will only remove the headache of daily exchange rate fluctuations and save our cherished currency.

Few years ago were had a crazy Cuban and Turkish Kurdish-hating Erdogan fan nationalist. But as I said it before, I don't believe OO is anymore Tigrey than our Ethiopianised longfoot fellows in Jigjiga.
-
Yes this is the biggest ever government to government discussion Somaliland participated. With allies like the UK, Ethiopia, and the UAE Somaliland is in a strong position diplomatically.

The YouTube video is more of an advertisement than the economic facts of Turkey predict. https://www.economist.com/news/europe/21734010-how-long-turkeys-economy-one-worlds-fastest-growing

So Siyaad Barre was ready to embrace the cross just to defeat the SNM?
-
No body dislikes the Gedo clan as they are not immediate neighbours and have no direct impact on Somaliland. However, because of their unfortunate past as usurpers of power and association with Siyaad Barre, they are often used in political propaganda.
-
It is indeed the opposite. If Jabuuti had her wishes granted, there would be no SNM mujaahidiin, no Somaliland, and Siyaad Barre would still be running the show. Facts are facts regardless of who likes them or hates them.
