These people are just expressing their personal opinions and in no way represent the government of Puntland which is firmly in the Saudi - UAE - Somaliland led coalition against Qatar and Turkey

Instead of half-truths why don't you tell the people that Berbera too was inhabited by a lot of east Sanaag folks many of whom worked at the port and that Hargaysa has a whole suburbs named after Boorama and Jigjiga because of the roots of those who lived there.

It is amazing how events are unfolding there. Only weeks ago we were hoping no nuclear war breaks out in the Korean peninsula!!!

Somalia is effectively unravelling in front of the world. The Emiratis must be shocked at how quickly they managed to subdue Mogadishu.
-
Where do you think he is?
-
Gaas effectively dismantled Somalia and its federal project in his speech. Where are all those so-called federal MPs who raised their heads to ban DP World from Somalia? Are they going to pass a "motion" against Puntland now?

The men of Jubbaland are jobless and can do just a much work or better than the mercenaries from other countries. The useless leaders in koonfuria should have asked for their jobless men to be given this opportunity.
-
There is no shortage of young Somali men who given the right training could do a very good job policing that region. This is just another money making mashruuc by the African mercenaries.

Somalis don't need more koofiyad bacle but competent democratic leaders. What benefits do we get from regressing to the middle ages?

Actually Egypt can cause significant financial harm to Ethiopian Airlines by closing its airspace to the airline. Almost all the Ethiopian Airline flights to Europe go through Egypt. I know it because I use Ethiopian Airlines regularly and have also used Lufthansa to travel from Frankfurt to Addis and all flights have gone through Egypt. If Egypt closes its airspace to Ethiopian Airlines, the airline can bypass Egypt east or west with significant added cost to the flight operations. If Egypt persuades its Arab neighbours to the west to follow suit, then the only route open for it would be Israel, although the geography of that location is quite complex with Egypt's Suez region and Saudi Arabia almost enclosing that narrow opening. Qatar Airways is doing this now after the blockade imposed on it by the Saudi led coalition but the government of Qatar has deep pockets and can prop up its company. However this is not the case with the Ethiopian airlines company. It has to make profit to stay in business and that profit depends on customers like me buying its tickets to fly home. To make profit, the airline has to offset the additional operating costs incurred if Egypt closes its airspace by passing on the cost to the customers. That means more expensive tickets which will make Ethiopian Airlines less competitive compared to its rivals. People like me will have to choose between a more expensive route home through Addis or a cheaper one through Dubai which is not a good prospect for Ethiopian Airlines. I hope this issue is resolved peacefully for everyone's sake.

No they are not.

I agree with the prime minister in protecting his country's financial system, however I think it is not only unnecessary but counterproductive to deny foreign direct investment in the telecom industry. Global telecommunication technologies are changing all the time and not to be keeping up with the changes is foolish. Moreover, competition in the telecom industry is very beneficial for the paying public for healthy competition promotes in services and lowers prices. It is a fact that today Mogadishu with all its political and economic problems has a much better telecom industry than Ethiopia!!

Our membership of the Arab League messed-up our history and gave us a deep-rooted identity crisis. Bloody Egypt is to blame. The real identity of the Somalis is one rooted in the Horn of Africa and is shared by the Afars, Oromos, Amharas, and others in our region. The non-Bantu Ethiopians, Eritreans, and Somalis form one ethnic group and we all came from North Africa.

That is 100% true. Cisbitaalkan dawladaa ku dawarsata

It is not just the breakup of the Somali Republic which renders this anthem outdated, it is in fact the deception, violence, envy, oppression, theft, etc, done by those who live in the southern part of our former county to their fellow citizens which makes this anthem meaningless. Anthems should reflect realities on the ground.
-
It might look strange to you but I guess some of our vocabulary is also strange to them.
-
The words of the song never matched the realities on the ground. I think we need a change of anthem in Somalia.
-
When did this happen Mr Maakhiri? I am embarrassed by that "national anthem" - it is indeed the most meaningless of all the anthems in the world.
-
Depending on what his responsibilities were at the time the Mudug war crimes took place, he might or might not be guilty of those crimes personally. But he is for sure answerable for what happened in the then Northern region of the defunct Somali Republic in 1988 and 89. And his culpability can easily be proven in a court of law.

Waaryaa Mooge nagadaa ciyaarta ninyoow. Are you seriously telling us that of all the respectable men and women the MJ clan has at its disposal, a blood thirsty tyrant is your preferred choice? And stop your cheap excuses for the butcher of Hargaysa, saaxiib horaa loo yidhi dofaar ma daahiro.
