  1. Ramadan is indeed a test to sort people out. I know some non-Somali Muslims who find it "difficult" to fast even a day because they cannot give up coffee and whatever transient luxuries they enjoy in life. Ramadan kariim to you all.
  2. Those people were not misguided but were fighting for a political conviction which had currency at their time. Other than that I could not have said better than the quote mentioned above!!
  3. That is so true. Even diplomacy which used to take a lot of time and effort is nowadays done instantly over the twitter, Facebook, and other social media channels. Just think of how the former US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was sacked via a tweet
  4. This is not a comment about the deceased but a theological one. I mean your RIPs and other du'aas are of no use. His record is already closed and filed for retrieval on the Day of Judgement.
  5. He is dead. No amount of RIP, Alle ha u naxariisto, and other words of that kind will change his destiny.
  6. I think you have not read the tweet properly. The Qataris are paying "Somalilander trolls" NOT foreign sheegato Even the unti-Somaliland trolls like Galbeedi had to show the Qataris their Somaliland passports to get paid but unfortunately Saalax had no Somaliland passport and is now a volunteer troll
  7. The plans of Turkey and Russia to trade with each other using their own currencies could be replicated elsewhere and herald the demise of the US Dollar. If China and India join this, it will definitely be the end of American hegemony in the world's financial system.
  8. You are combining two completely separate cities - East Burco and West Burco according to Saalax
  9. https://www.hiiraan.com/news4/2018/May/157983/al_shabaab_stones_woman_to_death_over_poliyandry.aspx Since they have killed the mother, will they provide for her children?
  10. Now that I have got your attention, tell me how is it even possible that in the centre of our capital city, in streets filled with food and money, a stone throw's away from government offices our own kids are so destitute and sleeping outside like stray dogs? Why are the so called wadaado not letting these orphaned children sleep in those thousands of mosques in the city? Could the thousands of restaurants in the city not afford to feed a child each? What about the countless hotels, empty villas, families with spare rooms, shops with tons of shoes and clothes, etc? Could some of those shops not give a pair of shoes to those kids? Where is the faith in Allah the so-called Muslim people and their wadaado are so fond of talking about? Is Islam just part of the society's inherited culture and nothing more? Is the Quran just another novel to read? Where is the society's conscious? Could the government not look after these most vulnerable members of our society? If the so-called Muslim society cannot look after few of its destitute kids, why not let Christian charities take responsibility? They for sure would take the responsibility to look after our needy children and orphans and would do so in style. Any society which is oblivious to the plight of its orphans needs to be nuked out of existence. Almighty Allah had already wiped out similar satanic societies through out the ages. Give me one nuke and I will drop it on Hargeisa with pleasure.
  11. Who these suffering kids choose: A. The Christian missionary organisations who would come from the far corners of the world to provide these needy children the love and care they deserve, shelter, regular healthy meals, health care, and full education. Or B. The countless sheikhs (and their sheep like followers) who preach virtue from the pulpit and through the airwaves but have scarcity of faith in their heart for they are oblivious to the needs of the children lying next to their mosque?
  12. Waa runtiisa. Intay Xamar wax walba oo soo gaadhay liqday ayay hadana rabtaa inay goboladu u dhago nuglaadaan.
  13. The Somali kilil is very important to Somaliland socially and economically but I think it would be more interesting if president Biixi met Cabdi Wali Gaas in Garowe to sort out Puntland's issues with us peacefully. Of course there would be a lot of opposition to such a meeting from Biixi's critics but Puntland is our immediate neighbour and we have a very bad relationship with them right now. If Biixi could persuade Puntland to stop interfering with our Eastern regions (we don't mind if they oppose our secession politically through the federal government in Mogadishu), then we could actually help them fight Alshabaab and other extremist groups.
  14. Why? Isn't Jigjiga part of Ethiopia? I don't think Mr Biixi needs to go anywhere anytime soon as he has a lot of internal issues to deal with. On top of that we don't have that much money for our president to be travelling around.
  15. He is talking about those who smuggle contraband goods through that region and obviously not all reer Laascaanood. The problem is not the minister's words but the inability of some people to grasp basic Somali.
  16. First of all, Alle ha u naxariisto kuwii dhintay ehelkoodana samir iyo imaan ha siiyo. Secondly this is not a "creek" but a seasonal or dry river. A creek is a very different thing. That said, this tragedy was avoidable and was brought about by the foolish and reckless action of the driver. If the driver is alive he should be charged with the murder of the deceased passengers. The government's wrongdoing is its unwillingness to collect all that water going to the sea in reservoirs for future use. Bridges at this stage of Somaliland's development is a waste of money so bridges can wait like the waiting vehicles near the flood water.
  17. These people are just expressing their personal opinions and in no way represent the government of Puntland which is firmly in the Saudi - UAE - Somaliland led coalition against Qatar and Turkey
  18. Waxaasi waa lacagtaa tirada badan ee ay haystaan. Haddii aynu intay haystaan rubuceed haysanno aduunku innagamuu fadhiisteen.
  19. Instead of half-truths why don't you tell the people that Berbera too was inhabited by a lot of east Sanaag folks many of whom worked at the port and that Hargaysa has a whole suburbs named after Boorama and Jigjiga because of the roots of those who lived there.
