  1. It is sad that Somalis across the Horn of Africa are destitute yet our lands and sea are teaming with natural wealth and are being exploited by others. Instead of fighting over grazing lands and meagre UN aid donations, if Somalis shared these natural resources with equity every bloody Somali on earth would be quite wealthy and comfortable.
  2. I don't have an insider knowledge about this issue but since ina Biixi's inauguration I sensed the politicians from Sool including professor Khaliif have been pushing for the take over of the remaining territories from Puntland. I think they want to deprive the Sool politicians in Garowe of any legitimacy.
  3. I am not surprised. Haddii wax xaal la siinayo dawladnimadaan siin lahaa. Somaliland made a mockery of dawladnimo. I have never seen a more corrupt place in my life.
  4. I would not be so confident if I was you. Never underestimate your opponent. Anyway, it is always better to solve this crisis with dialogue and by other peaceful means.
  5. This is apparently part of parliamentary democracy in most parts of the world.
  6. Is DDSI not responsible for Mooyaale? The Liyu police should be deployed in Mooyaale and in every other border town and openly fight the Oromo militias whenever they transgress. These barbarians only understand brute force.
  7. Waar Alle ka cabsada oo nagadaaya baladan aad ka hadlaysaan hadh iyo habeen. Kii dagaal jeceli Tukaraq ha aado oo askartaa dagaalamaysa ha la safto. Laakiin meeshan buuq iyo faataadhug yaan naloola iman.
  8. There are no economic problems in Somaliland as far as I know but there is a dangerous political and security crisis brewing which can threaten the very foundations of the country. On top of that the majority of the public lost faith not only in their government but in the whole political system of the country due to rampant corruption, nepotism, open tribalism, and the lack of anything resembling a government. Indeed the longer Somaliland's political system remains broken and unfit for purpose and society remains divided, the more koonfuria becomes attractive to the average man and woman. I think we should to be honest about all the issues facing us. There is no need to cover up our failings.
  9. Che we all know well what a tribal war looks like. There is no conflict between the clans of Somaliland and those of Puntland. People are still travelling both ways, doing business together, choosing to live wherever they want, marrying from each other, etc and nobody can stop them. What is happening in Tukaraq is a conflict based on politics and ideology and professor Samatar has chosen his political ideology and wants to show that.
  10. Barwaaqooy waxaan maqlay hargaysa lafteeda ayaa lagu mirqaansanyahay oo kuwii talada hayay dhalo iska dhex arkeen
  11. The entire clan politics of the Somali world is unsustainable. Climate change, degrading environment, population growth, scarce resources, violent history, past injustices, mistrust and animosity among different clans and sub-clans, lack of quality political class, interfering neighbours, meddling foreign powers, and numerous other internal and external pressures will make sure that any type of clan based government and politics ends up in utter failure. So I suggest that you don't make yourself too comfortable with the current clan based federal system as well. The only way any Somali territory can find lasting stability is through proper rules based, equal opportunity, Islam based democratic system. More like the Western style democracies and not the clan federation we have in place now.
  12. I think Fidel Castro's communist manifesto is a more suitable book for you. Please leave our warlords alone
  13. I know that, but there is no constitution that guarantees the rights of citizens to vote and run for public office in whichever state they live in regardless of their clan affiliation. Even in Somaliland no one has got the right to vote in a deegaan baas oonay reerkiisu sheegan. For instance, a HY man in Gabiley has to travel not only to a HY degmo to the east of the country but to his specific sub-sub clan degmo to cast a vote!! During elections voters in Somaliland are shipped like cattle across the land to cast a simple vote. Insanity isn't it? As we all know it, this is also the case in Puntland and koonfuria. Our own MMA can never participate in the upcoming elections in Puntland even if he is a long term resident. So what I meant is, if this clan based system is removed and in its place a British style democracy introduced where voters are required to proof only their residential address to cast a vote, our awful clan politics will perish in a very short time.
  14. I doubt they will have the patience needed for four long years. Some reforms have to take place now to calm the political situation. I suggest they start with the civil service and government contracts.
  15. What if everyone in koonfuria is given a constitutional right to live, work, own property, study, vote, and run for any political office in any state within the country? On top of that, the federal government distributed funds based on each state's population(residents of all clans), and based on a verifiable population count each state is given proportional representation at the federal level(and Somalis of any clan can represent the state if elected)? With such a system I am sure the clan mentality will be dealt a serious blow.
  16. Axmad Madoobe is a good guy and a friend of Somaliland, we need him there.
  17. They should never have called their offices "embassies" for the title "embassy" entails mutual recognition of sovereignty. The titles "Somaliland office" and "representative" should suffice.
  18. Hantida guud waan kuu gartay in la bililiqaystay waana wax laga xumaado, laakiin ta gaarka looleeyahay ee Hargaysa ku taal oo gacan aan lahayn ku jirta bal noo tilmaan adigoo Alle ka cabsanaya.
  19. Beggars don't choose their benefactors. We should just thank them for whatever they give us.
