  1. I think they want to join AMISOM and get a piece of the pie. What else can Eritrea get from Somalia?
  2. Yes indeed if you want to weaken a nation eliminate its brightest minds. Few years ago Israel carried out a series of assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists to slow down their nuclear program.
  3. Excellent points OO. The only thing SFG has in its favour is international recognition and that is not something a country can depend on for unity. There are over 200 countries in the world each with their own interests and any of these countries can seriously undermine your sovereignty as was seen in the DP World saga if interests clash. The only guarantor for a nation's unity and sovereignty is the goodwill of its own citizens or an overwhelming military. Turkey's entire security and foreign policy is dominated by the need to keep its Kurdish region by any means possible. They make friends and enemies based on this Kurdish issue. The pillars of China's foreign and security polities are concerned with the need to prevent Taiwan, Tibet, and other regions breaking away. Spain is struggling and there are others in this sort of mess. On the other hand countries like the United Kingdom and Canada are less concerned about spending blood and sweat on keeping national unity because their unity is protected by the goodwill of their citizens. Referendums were readily granted to separatist regions to choose their political destiny but the residents of those regions chose to remain with the rest and frustrated those who wanted out. America is not concerned about its states breaking away because those states want the union. I think koonfuria needs to come up with a better strategy if it wants to keep Somaliland in the union instead of relying on the opinion of the international community.
  4. I suggest you seek psychiatric help. Ma fayoobidee tolkaa halkuu ka dhacay may dharka kuu xidhaan.
  5. I am praying for Imran Khan. Pakistan has been raped by a long line of dogs and thieves. It is time that country gets a proper leader.
  6. The problem we have is that the Oromo barbarians are targeting the smaller Somali clans like the Garre in the border towns and villages. Given the total lack of cooperation and empathy between Somali clans due to our immediate past and the absence of a proper administration to speak for or protect Somalis inside Ethiopia, the killing and displacement might continue unabated.
  7. I like how they bring together a few docent unemployed men, women, and some children to "welcome" every desperate politician.
  8. I think he should be imprisoned for a while otherwise he will get out of control and drive us crazy.
  9. I think they were not less educated but certainly there were fewer fake professors, doctors, engineers, caaqils, waxgarads, and generals at that time.
  10. Absolutely. The Americans have an enormous soft power and dirty tricks in their cowboy hats which the dictator of Jabuuti under-estimated. Not only Djibouti but I think the whole of Africa will be a cold war battle ground once Trump is out of office and a more capable president takes over. The west will never let Africa join the Chinese sphere of influence.
  11. In their twisted mentality they probably think they can gain advantage over their rivals if the hostilities continue. In situations like this I can't help but wish for a ruthless dictatorship which tolerates no nonsense. I think Somalis should invite Bashar al Assad, Ayyatollah Khamonei, and Putin to add the Somali territories to their domain.
  12. It seems some of the people involved in the conflict do not want peace.
  13. Galbeedi you either doesn't know the history of Europe or you willfully ignore the fact that despite the Europeans sharing a lot of culture, language, royalty, and other similarities like the Somali and Oromo they have gone through countless conflicts and two world wars. So don't expect the Oromo to share your ill-informed views. We should do our best to solve our differences peacefully with them but we should let them know that we are not an easy target.
  14. With a strategic location, fertile land, rich sea, and vast amount of natural resources the Somali people could be among the richest in the world but unfortunately we lack brains and a moral compass.
  15. According to walawayn mentality Mogadishu is a city state like Singapore and not just a capital city. In their views all the progress made in Puntland in the last two decades does not count and does not represent Somalia. What happens in Mogadishu happens in Somalia and what happens in Puntland, Jubbaland, and other places happens on Mars.
  16. I don't think cities like Boorama and Burco need airports of their own as they are close to Hargeisa. What they need are good roads linking them to the airport in Hargeisa and a reliable public transport system. However Ceergaabo, Laascaanood, and Saylac definitely need airports.
  17. Despite our political differences and the occasional locking of horns, I do enjoy our Galbeedi's journalistic contributions (although his insider sources are as non-existent as the personalities behind the folklore characters of dhagdheer and cigaal shidaad)
  18. That is what I said. They would not allow him to attend. They considered him treasonous.
  19. Faysal exposed himself as a traitor and basaas so should be investigated by the police. I am glad he was denied entry for the Gacanlibaax conference. His tol saw him as an unreliable calooshiisa ushaqayste
  20. This is what happens when you have too many so called ministers without portfolios just to fill clan quotas. By the way, what is "wasiirul dawli"? Never heard of it before!!!
  21. I think some 50% of Somali territories is already in foreign hands and is being exploited by our rivals as we speak. So to say Somalis are capable of uniting or defending their lands and interests is making a mockery of our tragic past and present.
