Sucaad was wrong to say the massacre which took place in Puntland in the 70s did not concern us because it did. In the 70s there were no Puntland and Somaliland and we were in the same country and under the same government, so whatever happened in koonfuria or bari was also our business. Alle ha u naxariisto dadkii xaqdarada loogu laayay oo dhan. Xisaabta Alle way soo socotaa ee ha la iska sugo.

I welcome any development in Somaliland and this road is badly needed anyway. However, of course nothing will get off the ground without a planning permission from the government of Somaliland so it is a matter of when and not if the government of Somaliland gets involved. Here in the UK and other first world countries, you can propose and raise funds for whatever project you desire but when it comes to starting it and digging up the ground, you will need a planning permission in your hand. This is how it works and not by hosting Facebook parties. I suggest that the government gives the green light to this project but takes control of all the operations. By the way, the Ceel Daahir to Ceergaabo road is also very welcome

It seems the government of Somaliland is doing exactly what I thought they might do to achieve their political aim. In other words, the leadership in Somaliland will dance with any devil who intends to harm Somalia as long as Somaliland's interests are served in the process. The longer koonfuria hangs onto the coat tail of Somaliland, the bigger the dangers to their security, stability, sovereignty, and economy. The question is: for Koonfuria, is Somaliland worth any cost?

Where are the stones when you need them??

Personality I never celebrated 18 May, 26 June, or any other day from the secular calendar for they mean nothing to me. However, Somaliland is not a dream but a reality millions of people are living right now. Is it an ideal reality or a bad one, one may ask. And the answer to this depends on each individual's experience in that political territory.

If you asked the abused prisoners in Somaliland whether they are "still" secessionist, they will simply laugh at the silliness of your question.

The environmental situation in Hargeisa is only going to get much worse for their is no will to manage its affairs well. Simply Hargeisa is missing the most important aspects of any respectable city worth its name. There are no: 1. Proper roads 2. Drainage and sewage system 3. Waste management system 4. Power grid 5. Bridges across the dry river that divides the city in equal halves. 6. Footpaths and pedestrian pavements 7. Traffic management system 8. Recreational parks, playing fields, and open grounds Any many more important aspects of a proper city. Walking through the city feels like walking on a landfill.

Do you know what proportionality means? Do you think that a clan with about a million people loosing 50,000 or more which is about 5% of its members is affected the same way as a country of 20 million plus people loosing 100 thousand or just about 0.5% of its citizens? How about if somehow God forbid Awdalites lost 5% of their people, with many more physically and psychologically injured people, 100% destruction of property? 100% displacement of people? Don't you think that it would be highly possible that you would have personally lost family members along with your assets?

In Somaliland presidents believe that they are above the law and unfortunately there is no one to show them otherwise. The MP got himself into trouble by stoking controversy. A lot of people are languishing in prison for much less.

In that case every government in the world can be considered a cult. By the way, I love your terminologies. Walawaynistan kulahaa

What is the point of arguing about region A producing more votes than region B when all of us know that the whole election was corrupted with ghost voters, child voters, Oromo voters, or simply stuffing boxes with countless fake papers? The last election brought to mind the infamous town of Walaweyn which used to produce millions of voters in the sixties.

May I ask what cult are you referring to?

I heard from my reliable sources (a family member ) that the curfew in Sanaag is rejected by parliament!! But the government has flooded the place with military personnel who are conducting an extensive stop and search of all the vehicles. The whole thing started when the now dead police officers arrested a prominent and quite wealthy drug dealer aka qaad dealer in Garadag. After noisy and disruptive protests by the immediate subclan members of the dealer, the officers decided to transfer him to a prison in Ceergaabo where the prisoner is said to have died of natural causes. Of course the dead prisoner's family were not convinced and decided to take matters into their own hands. Although recently some arrests were made, non of those detained people is held for suspicion of murder and the real suspects are said to have gone into the mountain hideouts.

One thing might lead to another and the situation in Eastern Somaliland could get very serious if not bring down the whole country. May Allah protect us, certainly Muuse Biixi hasn't learned anything from the lessons of history.

I hate to agree with you but this is not that far from the truth.

That is right, Hargeisa is absolutely a filthy place. It has no local government and the tribal council which pretends to run the place is only there to get rich quickly. Moreover, the city would not be this dirty and almost uninhabitable by normal humans if its residents were civilised.

This an Ethiopian Airlines plane from Congo to Addis Ababa. When the plane encountered heavy turbulence due to bad weather over that region, the Congolese who are mostly Christians got terrified because of the recent crash of a plane from the same airline. As can be seen from the video, the terrified passengers turned to their idol (Jesus Christ). But instead of silently praying they turned the aircraft into a flying version of one of those crazy churches.
