  1. ^ Godane's wife went to Xamar every year to be with her husband. It was upto the Somali government to follow her to kill or capture Godane.
  2. It would be logical to extradited the suspects to Puntland to face trial there but Somaliland and Puntland have no extradition treaty between them.
  3. The situation can easily turn into a violent clash if the killers are not brought to justice. Alle xaaladda ha degiyo.

But somalis take it too far and many have developed some sort of paranoia thinking that danger lies at every turn as if everyone they meet is a xaasid who wishes ill upon them. What makes it even worse is many of these crazies are not even that special. For example you'll say ur kids are cute to a Somali mom just to be nice, and their face will turn blue with trepidation and force u to say 'masha'Allah', as if otherwise their kids will turn into disfigured trolls within a few minutes. Next time im gonna be like 'Anaaba kaa walaan oo jimankan yaryar ee digirta gubatay u eeg kuu ammaanay, ee raali noqo.' hahahaa. What do you think about the stories of the numerous brides running away from their wedding and heading for Naasahablood?

  6. Mooge;918978 wrote: jacphar, your analysis is wrong. i don't think somaliland invested in security more than puntland. if it was a case of al-shabaab not targeting somaliland because of better security then we would have heard about many failed assassination attempts in the news. alshabab doesn't even make the effort and it has its bases in somaliland. if you feel that the reason people are being killed in puntland is because somaliland government is less corrupt, then you are not really as reasonable as i thought. loool. somaliland government is as corrupt and powerless as others and the recent stolen election and all the political clan problems it is having is an example of that. why are Puntland elites on the top of shabaab kill list? that is the question everyone is asking. Why doesn't alshabab target somaliland elites? how many nabadoons, elders, sheikhs were killed in Galkacyo in the last few years? more than you can count. how many in berbera, burco and hargiesa? i seek answers. The reason why Al Shabaab is not targeting Somaliland is because of public vigilante and security agencies that are doing their job well. The terrorists know that they are being watched and are not ****** to gamble when the odds are staked against them. Take a look at this old report to get some sense why Somaliland is as secure as it is. http://www.diirad.com/maqaallo/1778-al-shabaabs-unavoidable-clash-with-somaliland-democracy.html
  7. I immediately began to worry when I first saw pictures of how they were building the runway. It looked more like they were building an ordinary road!! I saw no excavated ground and no concrete. It looked nothing like the photos I saw of the other international airports under construction. God save us all. How big are the planes expected to land on that runway? I think I once heard a minister say they are waiting for the biggest of the big planes!!!

But really, "whorehood" or prostitution, is no less different to what these men below are doing. Everyone is using their body to make money. So every morning when you wake up, shower, put on fresh clothes and go to your office, factory (et al) job, look into the mirror one last time and repeat: I'm such a ho. FML!!. So going with your logic forced labour can be classified as rape then.

This is not a civilised way to treat or interrogate someone in police custody. The boy could reveal a lot about the real criminals behind this murder if interrogated professionally.
  11. Somalia;918741 wrote: No, I am saying it is logical and convenient to target Puntland as it is connected to the south, whereas Somaliland isn't. Exactly. It is not because of bodyguards or police protection units which makes Somaliland a safer place from Al Shabaab but it is because Puntland is a buffer zone for it.

  13. Recently there was a huge tug-of-war in Hargeisa between the Salafis on the one hand trying to convince the public that celebrating the Mawliid (prophet Mohammed's [pbuh] birthday) is a bidca which leads one to the hell fire, and the Sufis on the other coaxing the masses to believe that prophet (pbuh) should be venerated with their distinctive traditional chants. A lot of folks including my mom were confused about the conflicting claims coming from the load speakers of the many mosques in the city.

Tomorrow’s asteroid near-miss is only a hint of what’s really out there Asteroid due to zoom past Earth could be worth £125 billion , space miners say, Scientists said the asteroid, known as DA-14, will fly very close to Earth on Friday 15th February 2013 Asteroid 2012 DA14 is likely to contain a variety of valuable resources including metals such as iron and nickel 2012 DA14 will linger in the so-called Earth/moon system for roughly 33 hours. At it nearest point, the asteroid will be over the eastern Indian Ocean, off the island of Sumatra. Asteroids this big get close to Earth about once every 40 years. Earth gets hit by asteroids this size about once every 1,200 years. Scientists believe there are approximately 500,000 near-Earth asteroids the size of 2012 DA14. Of those, less than 1 percent have been discovered. Travelling at between 12,427mph (20,000kph) and 18,641mph (30,000kph) - around five miles (8km) a second, or eight times the speed of a rifle bullet - the asteroid will fly inside the orbits of high geostationary satellites some 22,000 miles (35,406km) above the Earth. 2012 DA14 will pass inside the band of weather and communications satellites which orbit the Earth, some 22,200 miles above the planet's surface. At its closest point, the flyby will get as close as 17,150 miles above the Earth and constitute the closest approach for a known object of this size. Source: More than 10 sources. I doubt missiles are fast and effective enough to destroy an asteroid so close to the earth's surface. They could however be used in space when they gain high velocity and momentum.
  20. The tax will just be more money going into their pockets. What sort of tax do the American citizens pay while abroad? That is new to me!!
  21. I thought we had our own Cilmi Boodhari day.
