Won't bow to Egyptian pressure ova Nile dam: Ethiopia
Tallaabo replied to burahadeer's topic in Politics
Friendship and free trade with Ethiopia is in Somalia and Somaliland's interest. Somalis should actually support the Ethiopian dam because if Somalia and Somaliland sign free trade agreements with Ethiopia, we can import cheap electricity from them to kick start an industrial economy and export the Somali made products to Ethiopia's vast market. It is a win-win situation I think. -
No comment until I see the male version

This Jubbaland political impasse is a very sad development indeed given the long suffering of the natives of that region. This was suppose to be the time the residents of Kismaay and the region started reconciliation, reconstruction, and recovery not a time they should worry about yet another futile clan conflict. May Allah bring some sanity to all the feuding sides.

I don't know why, but somehow I have always liked Boosaaso since childhood. Even its name appealed to me;)

What can the FG do if Kenya starts drilling in those disputed waters? I guess not much.

The Egyptians are running around like headless chicken. This is the moment they feared would come all those years.

"Wadani" is a club for the useless, the traitors, political has been, electoral losers, ideological flip flops, ambitious thieves, power hungry wh0res, malicious tribalists, and the politically out of debt waste of space opportunists. I hate it and UCID is not much different either.

Tell me any one close to samatar from the awdal region President daahir rayaale maybe. I think Samatar and rayaale are the 2 most famous Awdalites known. i was in borama in 2005 and in borame they used to call rayaale dr rayaale:D Awdal had no shortage of good hearted well educated citizens who contributed a lot to the development and well being and country and citizens. There are many of them and they are the real unsung heroes of Somaliland. These ridiculous parades for Mr Samatar really boil my blood. They serve no purpose and only cement our people's infatuation with celebrity.

This is so embarrassing walahi!! What on earth did professor Samatar do other than lecture at some American college, peddle around a discredited idea, and fail to win a presidential election which makes him a hero deserving of such extravagant home-coming parades? Don't people question each other and use some logic for goodness sake? Or is there a dearth of suitable role models in our society? What has Samatar ever done for the people of Somaliland in general and those of Awdal in particular? I believe it is this unhealthy obsession with personalities which got the Somali people into a deep mess in the last fifty years. And as long as our people continue to give any shoddy character an undue reverence merely on the basis of his tribal tag nothing will change for the better in the Somali territories. This sort of idolisation of politicians will only make those who run our affairs more insular and power hungry.
