  2. The best way to get rid of tribalism is to educate all the Somalis about the futility of the clan. They should be taught that there is absolutely no difference between the blood or the DNA of the members of clan A and those of clan B and that the whole thing is nothing more than a name tag. And indeed it is;) Two days ago I met a sujui from the Duriyada clan and his Ugandan friend. The Ugandan said that in his country tribes are identifies because of their languages and cultures and asked us how do we distinguish between the members of the Somali clans with out asking them. We were lost for words lol.
  3. This tit for tat business of making fun of the needy and distressed Somali people is shameful and should stop.
  4. What is the problem if people travel from Somaliland to Mogadishu for whatever reason? Is Mogadishu not a Somali town and a natural second home for the Somalilanders? At least they haven't travelled too far from their hometowns to eat crumbs from the hands of a white guy in Europe or in North America like many of you here do with pride or become derided squatters in Kikuyu towns.

Being in the Millions and the Millions means nothing if you cant enforce anything. Oromo ethnic group needs to be broken down the one in Jimma should adopt sidamo identity the one in wello should become Amhara because 60% of the population dont speak oromo. The one in shoa should become just Amhara and drop the whole we are partly oromo. The borana should become their own distinct group. The Afraan Qalloo in harar should become harari's and learn the Adari language. What is left is arsi and bale oromo, They should remain the original oromos.in a small Territory. Several OG subclans did more damage to Ethiopia than these people you are talking about Mad mullah. You should never view the oromo as one ethnic group because they are not. Xaaji division, adigu marna Soomaali kala qaybi marna Oromada boqol qaybood u kala saar;)

Mad_Mullah;961469 wrote: As you can see, Jigjiga looks better than most newly towns like Bosaso, Hargeisa etc. This is due to there being urban planning through the local government and not private owners/businesses building anything, anywhere. Hargeisa is more like a concrete refugee camp than a city. Urban planning is not even in its vocabulary. There are no proper roads, no footpaths whatsoever, no sewage system, or drainage system, or water pipelines, or waste collection facilities, or address identification, or public parks and open spaces, and electricity and telephone wires hang over the city like spaghetti. Actually, Berbera and Burco are much better than Hargeisa when it comes to urban planning.
  8. Lovely pictures!! Please someone tell Apophis to stop his calaacal and enjoy Mogadishu's glorious comeback

  10. Tillamook;961030 wrote: This is unacceptable: We defenders of Maandeeq shall never rest until we have secured 'the borders'. The difference between Somalilanders and your lot is that we believe in securing our borders in a non-violent and diplomatic way and you guys have a feudal mentality of going in with the sword to take everything by force and subjugate everyone. Xiin is one of those with an extreme form of this disturbing backward mentality. Tell me guys just one time Somaliland invaded and took control of a territory with inhabitants hostile to its ideology by force? Never happened.

Alpha, look in the mirror and tell yourself you're a powerful man, with great ideas and with the location and energy to implement them. Don't doubt yourself. Tell him to attend the Somaliland version of Oprah Winfrey show with a box of tissues at hand and let it all out.

  15. We don't have the possessions of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) with us today but there is a letter with his fingerprints sent by him in St Catherine's Monastery in Mt Sinai and this is its message: "This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate. No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)."* *The English translated text of the Charter of Privileges was extracted from the Book 'Muslim History: 570 - 1950 C.E.' by Dr. A. Zahoor and Dr. Z. Haq, ZMD Corporation. P.O. Box 8231 - Gaithersburg, MD 20898-8231 - Copyright Akram Zahoor 2000. P. 167.

  17. Very sad indeed. When elephants fight the ants get crushed. Just as the elephants are oblivious to the destruction of the ants, the Somali warlords are oblivious to the suffering of their poor people
  18. Apophis;960857 wrote: Oh come on. Your war prayers can be heard in Jupiter. Apo isdeji inaar. No one in Somaliland has stomach to see any more mayhem, death, and destruction on their already traumatised brethren. If you bother to think objectively, you will also realise that Somalilanders have never done anything wrong to their fellow Somalis south of their border. Indeed, we are happy to lick our still open wounds and forgive Somalia for its brutality and move on. Somalis in Somalia are responsible for the long standing problems in their country and should not blame Somaliland or others for their shortcomings.

Hargeisa used to have a public library opposite the theatre and its title was rugta kutubta. It was sadly converted to a police station by some Somaliland government officials who have no idea about the values of leaning:mad:

  23. Somalis should never depend on other countries for the basics of life such as food and energy but the Grand Ethiopian dam has a great potential to provides us with another source of reliable and cheap energy. The more sources of energy we get , the better for the Somalis and their economy.
