Walaal no one is claiming anything. It is just a mere map put up by some guy. Whatever their clan colour, the villages are still there and the maryoolay who lived in them are still living in them. The only thing that keeps changing is the political game of the time and such games usually bring nothing of substance to the wellbeing of the villagers concerned. This whole mashruuc of my village has few more huts and greener grasses than yours really belongs to the era of Cigaal Shidaad and dhegdheer;)
  2. We are Muslims so I think our girls should never participate in such "contests". Every human is beautiful in his or her own unique way and such parades only demean the beauty of the creations of Allah.
  3. This thread is so useless!! Where did the decency of SOLers gone nowadays? Don't you guys realise that the whole bloody Somalis can be squeezed in one town? Everywhere you go in the Somali peninsula, you only see few maryoolay and vast empty spaces. What is the use of all that land if we are still risking limb and life trekking the deserts of North African and Arabia to go to another man's piece of land for our daily bread? Somalis have no shortage of land and resources but I am afraid there is dearth of brains and intelligence within our community.
  4. Juxa;972528 wrote: We should I indeed implement Islamic law but first we need to build judiciary system and the key word here is a working system where everyone is equal and have access to the said system. A system that offers fairness and protection to all. You are right Juxa. For the implementation of the Shariah Law, there has to be a central authority accountable to the people and responsible for the dispensation of justice. There has to be a constitution build on and based on the Islamic law which is accessible to the entire society and which leaves no room for contradictions and loopholes. And as you pointed out, there should also be a robust judicial system with facilities at every location of the land and which has all the necessary levels of appeal and control. Somaliland is supposed to follow this Shariah system according to our constitution but so far what we have got is a mixture of Shariah and manmade law. I think the reason for this incomplete implementation of the Shariah law in Somaliland is to do with the many contradictory and competing ideologies within our society and the fact that there is no comprehensive and academic understanding of the Shariah law by the vast majority of the religious community. For most of this religious community, the Shariah law boils down to chopping heads and hands and they completely lack any understanding of the economic system in Islam and also they can not analytically rise up to the many challenges thrown up by todays modern society. Somalis need Islamic scholars with deep understanding of modern society and ways of life.
  5. Waar Carafaat is deji niyow. IGAD countries are not invading foreign powers but part and parcel of Somalia's feuding clans. If there are no feuding clans there will be no AMISOM. That is the rule here.
  6. Puntland should form a nation state. They don't need Mogadishu and the South. We could be good neighbours too:D

That is the anti-Somali, Somaliland thinking of our devastated country, God help us. Carafaat does not represent Somaliland, don't you know?
  10. Classified;972068 wrote: Why and how is it possible to be a disputed region? Isn't it easy up in the North to tell where I-block and D-Block borderline? By dispute implied here is not about territorial ownership but sovereignty over and control of the region. It implies the regions Puntland fraudulently claims on the basis of clan and which Somaliland rightfully defends because they are right within its internationally recognised borders.
  11. Xaaji Xunjuf;972085 wrote: its seems the garowe clan enclave and the Mogadishu goverment are growing further apart. The government of Puntland should have the final say about anything concerning their security, economics, politics, justice, and land and water. The Federal government should consult them before they speak or act on their behalf.

  13. Dr_Osman;971909 wrote: I think I need to provide an analysis on President Farole Speech and areas he touched upon. Firstly lets start with his comments towards Cade Muse being the instigator of the clashes on the elections. I agree with the president. There is no denying that Cade Muse was behind it and he was behind it for totally selfish reasons. He wants to see ina samatar become president so he can get favours from him when needed. Cade Muse has gone twice as a spoiler and farole has gone down as a hero for not retaliating. I am also suprised he made no mention of his ina adeer being killed at the police station in Qardho and the killers roaming free in Qardho. Farole truly shined and his love for Puntland superceded petty clan agendas as cade muse. I totally commend farole for his action in the controversial election, because honestly he could of retaliated if he wanted. Secondly he mentioned Mogadishu, now this issue has been on-going for a while and it is long over-due that he cuts all ties to this HAG based administration. This sick man in Villa Somalia thinks it's ok to change agreed upon constitution without even consulting the stakeholders who signed it and put it into place. The same constitution that he supposed to be defending, upholding. What sort of nonsense is this. To add insult to injury this man is getting every ambassador that is from Puntland out and barring our students from attending scholarships in Sudan which our certificates already got us into. He wants our students to get it approved in mogadishu. This Hassan culusow and his admin are hell bent on one thing and that is to see Puntland destroyed. This sick man shoud learn from history not repeat it. Many have tried this before against Puntland and they always fail. Learn from people's mistakes, don't repeat it. As far as I am concerned, all working relationships with mogadishu should be suspended until this mess in the SFG is sorted out. This should've of been done a long time ago, not now. As for the SOOL issue, it was good that the president addressed key issues about development assistance not reaching those areas and the root cause of this being the clan's unstable politics. This idea of switching between Puntland and Somaliand and Khatuumo leads to an environment where noone in they're right mind would invest because it could easily be destroyed tommorow through war. This unstable politics needs to be resolved. As for the President reference to Somaliland oil program. In all fairness, the somaliland admin isn't prospecting SOOL anyways. However the issues of the licenses are a serious problem and could lead to an all out war in the future. Somaliland has no right to be issuing oil license to regions that are not they're and have no legal basis too. It's like me giving out oil concessions for hiiran and saying we were italian somaliland to the international community and companies. Waa arin lagu qoslo. As for the President comments regarding Somaliland and Mogadishu talks. His absolutely right, mogadishu has a mandate to develop a government in mogadishu and seek cooperation from Somaliland on different issues such as security, information sharing, business, etc. Farole did welcome this, however it is not the mogadishu administration concern to be sitting down and talking about national border matters. The SFG mandate is to build governance in mogadishu. Some people in Somalia have this idea that mogadishu being the capital and being the head of the recognised government of Somalia they can do anything. There is nothing more further then the truth. This aint the 1960s when everyone in Somalia was in Mogadishu. Mogadishu represented all somalis then, however now it doesn't. The whole point of a federal system is exactly that, not one region or one man can have the final say on anything that is of national matters. Even if mogadishu wanted to have the final say, they can't it defeats the whole purpose of federalism and farole was right to highlight somaliland is truly wasting it's time. They playing a 1960's politics to a 2013 Somalia. Ha is-lugoynina. Mogadishu isn't like it used to be in the 1960's and wont ever be. Anything of national matters such as borders all somalis must be present because this affects all. On the flip side, I was quite disappointed that we are still talking about completing an 8 year airport project. Wa arin aad looga xumaado. the fake promises made about the Bosaso airport and now promises made about the tender for it being released this month is just ever the more sad. I was also quite disgusted why farole tip-toeing about such an important fiscal matte such as the somali shilling. Puntland should print it's own puntland shilling. There is no point we play this waiting game for mogadishu to sort out it's act and do the job. They are to busy robbing the central bank, we cannot rely on this failed administration on such a crucial fiscal matter and we should be using our own currency until the national currency is restored and working effectively. I'll end with the comments made by the famed ISIMO which was very encouraging and I hope they play a key role in ensuring Puntland remains peaceful and prosperous in the now and in the future. Ditoore, why can't you speak like this all the time and stop the torrent of ridiculous comments and threads which to be honest with you only belittle your professorial status?
  14. Socotra never had any ties with the Somalis. It was colonised by different powers and changed religion two to three times during those colonisations. It should remain part and parcel of Yemen but it would be good if we established brotherly relations with the Muslim inhabitants of those Islands.

There is no sultantate there or any known boqortoyo that has been mentioned in the history of the north. Infact the only known boqortoyo of somaliya was yours truly the doctor and history attests to it. Sure theyre may be ppl who claim to be boqor today from other clans but they have no historical justification for it and just made it up to copy other clans who do have a historical justification and lineage. Lets put it simply boqortoyo soo jireen ah meesha kama jirin waqoyiga iyo hadu jiray bal ii tus document. Garoodi how does it feel abaha iyo awoowaha inay ahayeen dad aan tarikh laheen? must hurt don't it, must kill to know your ancestors were no different to xoolaha daaqayo You need a psychiatric medication as soon as possible. Freedom to Puntland and Declare Self Indendent, To all the Puntland diaspora contact your Senators, Congressman and explain about Puntland don't sit there ,you must organize and see Puntland be recognized and it is the best interest of all Maryooley. Don't forget that there are many Puntlanders whose habaryaroos and abtiyoos are HAGs:cool:
  17. Xaaji Xunjuf;971912 wrote: Thats just nonsense there is no talks between Somaliland and the garowe clan enclave , what is there 2 talk about , Somaliland only talks tot he legitimate goverment in Mogadishu. Xaaji talks and relationships should not be only between Hargaysa and Mogadishu. Somalia is not like Ethiopia, Kenya, or the other countries of the world where one leader and one government represents everyone and everything. Somalia is a loose collection of feuding clans and so Somaliland should engage in serious discussions with Puntland about any matter that affects both our populations. Don't forget, its the Garowe clan we are neighbours with and not the HAGs. Of course Somaliland should also continue its diplomatic talkathon with the administration in Mogadishu but security and economic co-operation with Puntland is in our interest.
  18. Wow there are on going talks between Puntland and Somaliland!! This is a step in the right direction.
  19. This is terribly sad, the victims were young orphans. Imagine the horror on the face of the mother of those murdered children when she confronts this awful news . She already lost her husband and then now lost four of her seven children in one night. Not only that, but she will have to care for the remaining three injured offspring. May the Almighty ease their pain.

  21. I support Cabdi Raxmaad Faroole for bringing the so called Federal government to account. If there is an agreement signed between the state of Puntland and the administration in Mogadishu, then that agreement should be followed to the letter, no ifs and no buts. Until the Somalis learn how to follow rules and regulations, they will always be in chaos. If Mogadishu does not like the agreements they signed, they should lobby Puntland to agree to the amendment of those documents but the Mogadishu administration should not behave like an imperial power.
