If Somaliland made a good use of its annual rain fall by constructing reservoirs and employing advanced irrigation methods like drip irrigation, then our organic produce is enough to feed our small population. We are blessed with virgin soil, plenty of sunshine, and enough rain but we lack the leadership and the foresight to advance our society.

Haatu;975108 wrote: Tallaabo, as a Somali of all the people in the world you should know that a bad government is better than no government. I'd prefer Assad to an Iraq scenario. I don't support dictators but I believed Assad was a good leader for Syria before the civil war and prayed that the Arab spring never reached that country. But like a leopard never changes its spots, tyrants never change their evil ways and Syria would now be better of with out its brutal tyrant.

nuune;975100 wrote: So you are welcoming the West to attack a country in civil war, what makes you think US Cruise Missiles will not cause massacres. Yes I welcome the forceful removal of the devil named Assad. The western launched cruise missiles will for sure cause some collateral damage but on the whole a post Assad Syria will be better for everyone in that country. The only thing worrying me right now is the extremely long time the Americans and Europeans are taking to make a decision for attack.

I don't hear about Libya anymore hadana ninyow:D I think it is better not to hear anything about it for now as that will only jeopardise public opinion on the upcoming Syria campaign;)

For goodness sake can't we Somalis ever build anything with our own hands? The Romans, Greeks, Persians, and Egyptians were building aqua ducts, paved roads, stadiums, and large palaces thousand of years ago and we can not build the same thing in the 21st century?

D.O.C;974937 wrote: Can someone tell me who furnishes this so called prestigious award in the first place? It was set up by the rich Swedish industrialist and investor of dynamite Alfred Nobel over one hundred years ago when he read his obituary in the newspaper Le Monde of France. Apparently the newspaper thought he had died the other day and then published an obituary which shocked him. The article had a title like "father of death died". So Mr Nobel decided to leave behind a good reputation and put his entire wealth into a fund to reward those who contribute to the peace and wellbeing of mankind. Ever since it was awarded by the Swedish and Norwegians to the most deserving individuals(most of the time).
