Mad_Mullah;977874 wrote: Because the Eritreans had nowhere to go - it was stand or get slaughtered. OG's however had a home in Xamar all the way to Kismayo and even Garissa. If there was no Somalia - and OG was next to the sea - the same would've probably happened. Unfortunately the OGs cared more about propping up Siyaad's tyrannical regime and fighting their fellow Somalis in the North than fighting for freedom from Ethiopian rule.

Because the owners of these companies are Somalis who would not hesitate to treat their fellow Somalis like animal just to make a little profit.

The MPs guilty of misconduct not only within parliament building but also when out of duty should have disciplinary action taken against them. -

The core meaning of the demo is that the Baydhabo folks were left out, and they want their voices to be heard, wax problema miyaa ku jiraa yaa Joshua. I concur. It seems the Southerners respect only the strong and disregard the rights of the weak:mad:

Johnny B;977983 wrote: An ambush indeed, but then i hate to see "khaatumo" reduced to an issue named only on press confrences. As we speak , somewhere in that region someone is being humilated , raped, mimed and what have you , for naming "khaatumo". Are you talking about Mogadishu? Because the raping and maiming of innocent people is exclusively the hallmark of that city of yours and not anywhere in Somaliland.

Also had Siyaad Barre not been tribalist in his policy to maintain his rule but instead just used ruthless men from all clans to control the nation, there would have been no SNM or USC. However, we would probably have had popular and all inclusive uprisings like those in Egypt and Tunisia and the Somali nation would be spared the disintegration and the terrible fate which it.

Mad_Mullah;977833 wrote: lol. Siyad Barre was what kept the nation together. Proof: Look what happened as soon as he left. HAG started slaughtering people in Xamar and Landers made their own civilized country. They helped him and the country collapsed and if they didn't help him the country would#ve still collapsed only a lot sooner. The role of the UWSLF in the civil war is greatly exaggerated. The Somali nation was not perfect but was united for a common goal when Siyaad Barre showed up. So the idea that Siyaad held the nation together is baseless. Indeed it was his policy of alienating all others but his D clan which led to the situation we are in.

Mad_Mullah;977834 wrote: I never liked the "give everyone a free day from work/school so they can salute the president" it helps create dictators by making them feel like kings and is very 3 world-ish. So true. Our culture idolises leadership and helps create dictators and despots. Its no wonder why Somalis fought each other for the pass 23 years and are still on each other's throats because they keep supporting their clan's strong man to be treated with such pomp and ceremony. It is all about faan and fatoosh. -

Ester Obiko : ok. basically, i would like to resign with immediate effect.....within the terms of my contract. Thanks Ibti for the update, the length of the runway I raised that point long time ago as I knew 2.5km was not enough for take off for the 787-800 Jet. Nuune will you please keep your mouth shut as it seems the NSA of Ethiopia reads your comments in SOL. How else would they hear the "rumours" about the length of the runway?

Saalax;977780 wrote: What went wrong is the WSLF got involved in dirty politics, they were fighting the SNM in the Somali Galbeed much of the 80s, so they lost track of their goals and instead settled for fighting for Siad Bare which of course ended up bad for them. SNM liberated Somaliland, while the WSLF lost track of its goals. So that is what went wrong and of course the fact Siad Bare sold them out in the deal with Mengistu in Djibouti. They screwed up. Instead of opposing Siyaad Barre and his regime and helping keep the Somali Republic together and the Somali people free of tribalism for their own benefit, they made everything worse and literally destroyed the nation that could have protected them.
