Lol there is no right wing or left wing in Islam:D But there are only two groups in this great religion namely the bearded nutters and the faithful masses. Someone should ask this "sheikh" if camel riding is better than driving for women.

To the extent that I look at the SNM and the whole Somaliland project from a totally different perspective now. I am no longer ensconced in the primitive clan group-think that plagues our people. I happen to be a sand-dweller by birth, but my politics and social dealings are determined by Soomaalinimo and Islaamnimo. I'm finally on the outside looking in, and its proven to be an experience marked by ambivalence, as I feel both liberation from the ills of qabyaalad and despair as I look upon the mentally shackled masses . There is a hospital in Somaliland for the disease with these highlighted symptoms- madheera prison:mad:

  6. Suldan Al, My scepticism is disappearing by the day as you present more and more evidence of your yet conclusively unconfirmed mashruuc. But I am not a miser so will extend you some congratulations and full encouragement and prayers for you to continue the good work.
  7. SOLers whose business is to spout tribal nonsense should learn a thing or two from the ditoore and do it in style instead of annoying the rest of us with gibberish statements. When the ditoore is serious about penning down a comment, he does it with great intellect. His tribalism is comparable to the hate laden Islamaphobic headlines and mischievious stories which are regular features of the SUN tabloid here in the UK. You see its tasteless but humorous headlines like this one http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4992722/Channel-4-plans-to-screen-Muslim-call-to-prayer-every-day-during-Ramadam-as-its-more-relevant-than-Diamond-Jubilee.html which are meant to degrade you but you still end up reading it with a mixture of rage and amusement;)
  8. ^ Surely they are more prominent among your social group but not among those whom television has become their eyes and ears. And there are a lot of them in the West;)

The Three main parties are Headed by the Habro tribes , The Govermeent is Habro Hashimi Gov . Basically what Benefit do the People SSC get other then living in Peace which snm clans are offering ? Unlike the Mogadishu admin the government of the republic of Somaliland is representative and elected by the people it serves. So no one rules the people of Laascaanood and they are governed by their own elected politicians and follow the Shariah law of Almighty God.
  11. ^ True but then the ordinary man and woman on the streets of New York and Toronto would hardly recognise the faces of such celebrated authors like Amos Oz or Philip Roth.

  13. N.O.R.F;979261 wrote: Alpha ha la daayo. His move to HGA was out of, erm, Somalinimo. Mashruuc ayuu heley then it was on the first plane from Gatwick. He is slowly working his way up the slippery ladders of politics through various shady meetings and his observations on travelling qurbo joog folk from a distance (usually from across the road of HGA’s hotels lol).
  14. Safferz;979214 wrote: Agree with this list, except I'd replace Rageh Omaar with Nuruddin Farah. I did not know whether to put Nuraddin Farah or Rageh Omar at no five as both are internationally known for their work. However, I chose Rageh because I thought his appearance on TV would make a lot more people recognise his face where as Nuraddin would be known more intimately by a more affluent, educated, but smaller audience.
  15. Mo Farah Imaan Abdul Majid Ayaan Hirsi Ali K'naan Rage Omaar Frankly, these are the Somali faces the world is familiar with.

  18. ^ Are you kidding? I thought NY was from Baraawe lol
  19. It seems all the OGs came out to night. I can count several in this thread. Is it the full moon or a population explosion in certain parts of our land, I've got no clue:confused: Waryaa Apo go to bed and leave Saffy alone:mad:
  20. I condemn all the terrorist attacks in the world, be it from a government or a group.
  21. Haatu;979129 wrote: Heh! lol at him winning. I know and live near one of his siblings and he visits the area from time to time. Never once have I even bothered to see him. I understand that. I too never idolise people whatever their status or achievement and I treat everyone the same way. But when Somalis win international prizes and recognition, their achievement helps mitigate the very bad reputation we Somalis have got nowadays.
  22. ^ If it was an X Factor style vote the Chinese and the Indians would win it every year;)
  23. His name frequently comes up as a favourite for this coveted prize and this year is no different. Here are the odds: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/books/booknews/10322801/Haruki-Murakami-is-bookmakers-favourite-for-Nobel-Prize.html I hope he wins it this year as the glory it brings would for few days mitigate the bad name Al Shabaab has brought upon us:D
