1. @Hasina said: This whole section is entertaining to watch. Keep it up fellas. I can really see why somalia is a sh!thole (and yes that includes Somaliland too). +1... lots of tough guy acts from people who live in the west sheltered from the harsh realities of living in Somalia/SL.
2. i think this president made countless mistakes but for some people he can't win them even if he does the right thing, criticism and praise should go hand in hand.
3. I know some people love their country beyond rationality and this is a clear evidence of that. Nobody should cheer the absence of law and order, Xaaji and that other person should be ashamed of themselves.
4. ^^^^^^: Hi Xaaji: Hi ^^^^^^: Where are you from? Xaaji: Macrobia ^^^^^^^: Microbia Xaaji: NOO, Macrobia ^^^^^^^:Sorry, what do you call yourself, Macrob. Xaaji: Macrobian. The name is extremely silly.
5. Why chose an obscure name like "Macrobia" which is historically dubious? The location of that imaginary kingdom is unknown, some say Abyssinia or India or the horn (Similar to Punt). Changing the name to Golisia will not fix the problem, you can't erase history and pretend to be different people,If you spoke a different language and looked remotely different or even adopted a different religion (I suggest a different Abrahamic religion )then you can call yourself whatever you like( I don't take the afrohashimite nonsense seriously). Re-branding is not the solution, you're not a company or a startup.
6. Xaaji, can you provide more information about the project? cost, location, plans... looks like a cool project.
7. @SomaliaRising said: Bad timing? There is war on the front door. You can't just freeze everything and not think about the future, becoming a normal functioning city is part of beating the terrorists.
8. @xabad said: Your just regurgitating English talking points, the union only ever worked for England, making her rich, famous, powerful, the seat of government, etc. Scotland hasn't been so lucky, they have been impoverished while north sea oil wealth went into into enriching and propping up London. Scotland would've been as prosperous as Norway had it been independent. England gets the accolades and basks in the glory of the British Empire, but it is Scotsmen who have played an outsized role in its success. Wales, N.Ireland, Scotland are basket cases in European terms. Before that Ireland under English rule was even poorer before it become independent and prosperous. Somalia and Waqooyi Galbeed is different, if the central clan that is agitating for independence were to say we will only secede with our clan boundaries i don't think many Somalis will have a gripe. But that isn't the case. I couldn't have said it better myself. I commented before on the cognitive dissonance exhibited here by Somalilanders and some one pointed to me the imaginary special relationship that SLers feel towards the UK and their perception that if the UKs standing in the world diminishes then it will affect their quest for independence.
9. @Xaaji Xunjuf said: Well he has to re declare it to remain firm LOL... You're unintentionally funny. His days are numbered and you know it, you need to hope they don't turn on you when that happens.
10. Imagine if Ethiopia decided to invade south west Somalia to protect "minorities" and give them Ethiopian passports.
11. ↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑ I understand that they are one of the most suffering people in Somalia but there are conflicting stories pointing to different states comprised of different provinces. The IC community doesn't support them and all they are doing is putting a guy behind a desk with a flag. Strangely the government now supports the 3 province state conference(which is shocking to me).
12. @malistar2012 said: I'm against the Gov who are not respecting the Fair and transparent election- Candidates competed for Maamulka Koonfur Galbeed Soomaaliya a fair election took place their was a winner , Clearly that did not take place in Kismaayo no election or vote . Did you attend both conferences? and what is the definition of a fair and transparent election to you? from what i read (meager sources) the Baidoa conference is not actually representative of the wider region and is not supported by facts on the ground. Lower Shabelle is claimed by three upstart states and Juba is already a de facto state (at least for the moment). You appear hell bent on supporting strange fantasies or you have an ulterior motive of muddling the path towards federalism (ineffective internet rumor mongering).
13. Interesting... What about Juba"land"? Do they claim that they have the support of the people there? I find it strange that Malistar is against the formation of Juba"land" or a state that is comprised of Bay+ Bakool+Lower Shabelle , but is all for a mega state.
14. ↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑ This doesn't make any sense at all. Anyway the Russian economy was collapsing before this military intervention and the Ruble is dropping to its lowest point is many years, the G8 is now the G7 and if the US freezes Russian assets and imposes sanctions then it's all over for their economy.
15. Russia might have taken everybody by surprise but we all know that their economy can't withstand any sanctions if they take military actions beyond Crimea. It's funny watching the west scramble after engaging in unnecessary wars with lesser powers in the middle east, maybe China will asserts its turf next.
16. They use the internet but don't allow others to use it, those savages think that life in the 7th century is ideal.
17. @Xaaji Xunjuf said: Cabdi cawar laascanood raaadista ma addis ababa bu ka doonay he was closer when he was in jigjiga loolz Mooge Cabdi cawar will not move a finger aniga ta ku og, and if he does he will be crushed but he is has troubles at home enough for him. Xaaji.. You are turning into Cidan_Sultan, hold yourself together.
18. This is one of the most important jobs in Somalia and I'm not sure that this guy is qualified. How can a person become a "Brigadier General" in a couple of years? Do you know how many there are in the biggest militaries of the world? I hope he does better than expected though my expectations are so low he might meet them by accident.
19. @STOIC said: D/p Sol changed..and am getting old The only people talking about war are some internet tough guys and some SL online newspapers. A war no matter how brief is not good for either side.
20. This sudden escalation of violence and resurgence of Alshabab is very disturbing, it feels very orchestrated.
21. What I learned from this thread: 1. Khatumo is weak divided and is on its last throes. 2. Somaliland politics is as much a mess as Somalia's politics. 3. Few soldiers crossing a desert without opposition is a major victory. 4. I love reading somalilnadsun, what a fun news outlet.
