Ururka Sahal, promoting a 'Pirate' Agenda in Somalia
Homunculus replied to Carafaat's topic in Politics
The thing that frustrates me is that Somalis always want to back out of things they agreed to in the first place. You signed on a federal system now live with it, the first federal states would most likely be Puntland and Jubaaland which shows you who is trying to make things work in this country. -
Wow.. I'm impressed. Give Mogadishu ten years of peace and nobody would recognize it.

Bossaso Is Truly The Next Big Thing In Somalia. PICS
Homunculus replied to Dr_Osman's topic in Politics
Nice pictures, but they shouldn't be posted in the politics section it should be in General topics. -
I really appreciate grand dreams but this is a dream that will never come true. The cost is so prohibitive that it will bankrupt any government and the Somali government doesn't have any money to begin with.

People like to discuss the power struggle between the SFG and the people who would like to form Jubaaland but they forget the consequences of doing nothing. There is a power vacuum in that region, the SFG is not the all powerful entity (they can't even secure the capital) and they expect people to wait and see this vacuum filled by Al Shabab or other militias. Kenya won't be there forever and the SFG doesn't have the troops to replace them, and instead of jumping on this opportunity and guide it to a better outcome they drag their feet and hope it fails. If the SFG wants to form the states of the federal government why don't they show that they can do that and start doing something? maybe they can help form a state in Bay and Bakool and organize a conference there and show that they can do things better. You can't just drag your feet and expect things to go your way.

What kind of e-books? I read a lot of sci fi and fantasy, which you can find everywhere. Technical e-books are a bit tricky to find.

SFG Declares Kismayo Conference Unconstitutional...
Homunculus replied to Mintid Farayar's topic in Politics
Well, I'm glad that deputy deputy minister for interior and national security shared his opinion on the "Radio", very informative indeed. I'm sure that since he personally deemed it unconstitutional he will get the Parliament ( Where are those guys?) to declare that or maybe the constitutional court (was it even established) will rule on that matter. After sending a clear message then they will have mechanism to put a stop to those people who are breaking the law. -
SFG Declares Kismayo Conference Unconstitutional...
Homunculus replied to Mintid Farayar's topic in Politics
Interesting "Not Constitutional", I wonder was the constitution ratified or is it still being discussed in the "Parliament"? and If you declare Jubaaland attempting to form a state unconstitutional then is Somaliland unconstitutional since they weren't "inclusive"? -
Somalia's Prime ministers spokesmen arrested in Somaliland berbera
Homunculus replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
Do Somalilanders know what transit means? This really reeks of desperation, when will Somalis learn to think before acting?! -

This is the first time I heard anything about this, this must be some cooked up revisionist history.

Jacka Resources finds promising structures in Somaliland petroleum block
Homunculus replied to Siciid1986's topic in Politics
I hope Somalia including Somaliland has oil (lots of it), people fearing intensified fighting and hope that nothing is found should really examine their heads. I live in oil country (Alberta) and lived in the UAE before, the benefits far outweigh any risks. -
walaalkis, I don't think anything will happen in the short term, the country is a long ways from being attractive to oil companies. I lived in the UAE and Canada, two countries who know about natural resources in a federal system, so what does the constitution say about natural resources? I hope it's not centralized.

Joint Press Release - Awdal, Khatumo and Makhir Regions
Homunculus replied to A_Khadar's topic in Politics
Some people in America -I guess- pretend to speak for a group of people in Somalia. Maybe I should start issuing press releases too. (Anyway I prefer to be part of dystopic Somalia than Somaliland). -
The next SL elections: Would Publicizing voters’ names work?
Homunculus replied to AfricaOwn's topic in Politics
I have no skin in the game but that sounds like an absurd idea. -
I'm happy for the people down there, Jubaland's potential is great.
-
People who are obsessing about clan federalism should think first about the security of a big country like Somalia. Let Jubaland and other lands take care of their security and economic concerns and after a period of peace (hopefully) we can go back to redraw the map so that we don't have this problem of clannish exclusive regions.

'Land Grabbing': Foreign Investors Buy Up Third World Farmland
Homunculus replied to Mario B's topic in Politics
Soon farmland in Somalia will be more valuable than any piece of land,I hope Somalis will be smarter than the other countries in East Africa. -
This country has little or no hope over the next 4 years.

There is nothing wrong in what the Imaam did. I actually prefer it to crazy Imaams calling for Jihaads and warfare versus this and that. -
Mogadishu Genocide 2007-2009: The EU and US Must Compensate Victims!

There is no way in hell that the British will put combat troops in Somalia (maybe in the future when the Americans construct their eventual base)

I don't see any "politics" in this, anyway RIP yadayada.

Somalia and Somaliland are engaged in peace talks sponsored by the international community. 2.
