But its only fair the raskambooni are being supported by Kenya and if the other group is supported by Somalia its only fair and balanced dont you think? The whole situation is a mess and the only thing the SFG can do is stay neutral in a militia fight (even if it is unfair). If they had a strong control of Somalia as a whole I'd welcome the SFG to exert control on the region, but they are a powerless entity and are at the mercy of international community. They have to show that they are the adults in this conflict and stay as far away as possible and point to the futility of the Kenyan presence. Things were going well but now they had to ruin it by interfering in the open.

Barre Hiiraale and his allies captured most of Kismaayu
Homunculus replied to Cambuulo iyo bun's topic in Politics
It's really embarrassing that we're still behaving like the early 1990s. I'm sure the truth is completely different than what both sides claim and we will have to wait for few days to see who has the upper hand. -
warsamaale;964361 wrote: I agree with supreme court decision. its past time, outdated relics like this and the affirmative action should be consigned to the dust bin of history. these laws have served their purpose and only political inertia keeps them in place. good riddance. I can't wait for the time when you're removed from the voter rolls (without informing you) because of suspicions that you're not a US citizen.I remember when there was a big manufactured scare that non citizen Somali immigrants are voting in Ohio. These laws are not a relic of the past, voter suppression is happening everyday in the US and the problem is that they aren't confined to the South. The supreme court might be right that the law is discriminatory by keeping the same formula since the 60s but by making this decision they know perfectly well that congress will do nothing and that there will be scramble by many states to make voting very difficult for people like you, warsamaale.

Professor samatar Koonfurians wanted to feed me left overs lol

The guy is delusional to think that people will hand him power due to his education or credentials. Somalia is ruled by clans and the more you get to your side the better your chance is of attaining power. He came from a position of weakness with few delegates from an area that is mostly pro Somaliland and he expects to be crowned, people with high degrees sometimes fail to see the obvious. -
The life of AMISOM soldiers - The guardians of Mogadishu
Homunculus replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
This descended very quickly into a useless argument with immature insults. When will people here grow up and stop using juvenile jabs? It doesn't make you look smart and it invalidates any point you're trying to make. -
HAG elders warn Ethiopia not to support Ahmed madoobe's Jubbaland.
Homunculus replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
Sheesh, this guy is personification of everything that's bad in Somalia. Clannism and arrogance. Everytime he opens his mouth he confirms the opinions held by many people against the president (who is coincidentally adopting the same policies this guy advocates:rolleyes:). -
Salax, did the evil Khatumites turn you against Mogadishu? What's the reason for the sudden change?!

Breaking News: Big explosions going on right now in Xamar
Homunculus replied to Cambuulo iyo bun's topic in Politics
Not good. Al Shabaab is getting stronger and bolder and they feel safe to operate in the capital without fear. If this continues this will weaken the SFG and this is not good for Somalia. -
Kenya begins process of repatriating one million Somali refugees
Homunculus replied to xiinfaniin's topic in Politics
Where will all those people go? Many of them don't have a home to go back to and semi stable regions in Somalia can't take more IDPs. -
Clashes kill 10 in Jowhar after clans accuse gov’t of ‘subjugation’
Homunculus replied to xiinfaniin's topic in Politics
This hasn't been a good week for the federal government. Al Shabaab is regrouping and new tensions are rising and the SFG is eerily silent. -
Khatumo's reaction on Nickolas Kay trip to Hargeisa Somaliland.
Homunculus replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
I'm uncomfortable with overuse of the "clan" word, but I guess it's a fact of life overthere. The criticism of the former ambassador is also in bad form, other than that the letter is good enough. -

You don't have to be nice to people, just treat them as equals.

Why did they clash to begin with? The article is very vague. -

Al-Shabaab has imposed hefty taxes on clans and businesspeople in Barawe and Bulo Marer in the Lower Shabelle region The clans were given ten days to pay, although it is not clear for what the money will be used. Businesspeople in Bulo Marer were also told to pay unspecified amounts of money or their assets would be taken Link

It's a tragedy that we haven't evolved as a nation, no wonder Somalilanders want to separate (but they will not take us with them).
