Romualdi, 57, was entertaining two friends at the time. The man brandished a knife and held it to Romualdi’s nose, demanding his bank cards, polic said. 5. A student in Nigeria claims he has scientific proof that same-sex marriage is wrong. The so-called discovery was made by Chibuihem Amalaha, a postgraduate student at the University of Lagos who told Nigeria's This Day Live that same-sex marriage is "eating deep into the fabric of our human nature all over the world." Amalaha said he conducted "experiments" in physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics to test his theory. Ultimately, he deduced that the repellence of two similar entities (magnets, for instance) proves that same-sex marriage is wrong. In a series of befuddling explanations, Amalaha cited magnets, electrolysis, animal mating and simple addition as rationale for why gay relationships just aren't right. His entire thesis boils down to the fact that "like" does not attract "like." Read more I can only dream of trolling people to the extent this man has.

  9. Such drivel. Consider the massive reforms in agriculture, sanitation and medicine required to even support Africa's purported today, let alone these outrageous projections. Even this 1987 report for the municipality of Mogadishu understood how difficult it would be to ascertain census figures in what was then a generally stable Somalia and Africa: It seems unlikely that there will be a clear consensus on the population of Mogadishu in the near future. Although a census was conducted of the city's population in 1986 as part of the national census it is unlikely that the result will be available for the next few years. (The results of the 1975 census were not published until January 1984.) Even if the results are published within a shorter period of time it is still possible that they will be ambiguous. The 1975 census produced two population figures for Mogadishu: 350,000 and 450,000 (MNP 1984:107). Shortly after the census in 1975 "there was food rationing in Mogadishu" (MNP 1984:39) and the demand for food was found to be substantially higher than would have been indicated by the original census figure for Mogadishu (350,000). A recount based on enumeration of households and multiplying by a figure of 5 (people per household) was then carried out and the population figure was adjusted upwards to 450,000. Source
  10. I think the differences among Somalis are more intriguing. I have no facts or figures to back my claim, but from experience it seems as if there is no such thing as a Somali of average intelligence. Every single Somali I've met is either several bricks short of a load or masking latent genius. 11. I've noticed that this movement attracts a disproportionate amount of Muslims. Is this an inherent zeal for truth among the Muslim populace or is it brought about by the desire to remove negative effects the incident has had on the Islamic world? The latter seems like a perfectly rational response given its consequences, but I think everyone's motivation should be clearly stated before the inevitable hand-wringing begins. I'll start by saying that I have trouble being objective considering my disdain of the American government and it's hypocrisy , but I can say with some even handedness that there is no way an attack of this magnitude slipped by what was then, and even more so now, the most extensive intelligence network in the world.
  12. His rights, as a convicted drug trafficker ordered deported to Somalia, were deemed more important than the guaranteed safety of Canadian citizens. And so, despite warnings that Bashir Gaashaan was a flight risk who posed a danger to the public, Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Board let him go — a freedom that lasted exactly one year and eight months. On June 15, 2011, RCMP in Alberta announced they had arrested Gaashaan, charging him with first-degree murder, unlawful confinement, offering an indignity to human remains, sexual assault and trafficking in cocaine. The body of Jenna Cartwright, 21, a young mom from Red Deer, had been discovered in a ditch near Olds — and police believe the man ordered out of Canada two years earlier killed her. Read More *Sigh*

  15. Yusuf Tifow, 16, identified as boy killed in shooting The teenaged boy killed after being shot in the neck in an apartment on Weston Road late Sunday has been identified by police as 16-year-old Yusuf Tifow. Toronto police released the victim's name Monday afternoon. The teen had no vital signs when he was found just before midnight in a 19th-floor apartment at 2240 Weston Rd. He was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made. Police are searching for a single suspect. They are looking at footage from the building's security cameras. A post-mortem examination is being scheduled. Source A lot of the homicide victims this year are disturbingly young.

It is also interesting not once does the researcher mention any data outside London. Did the improvements come about on their own or was there some specific action taken by British Somalis? Here in Toronto we're third from last in graduation rates after Jamaican and Portuguese students and that hasn't changed for 12+ years.
  17. Why do you punish yourself Safferz? Either openly attack Islam or feminist ideology, perhaps even both. The two are completely incompatible in their current state and you'll only further torture yourself and others on this board by attempting to reconcile them.

None of the suspects have any Somali sounding names. Was this just being at the wrong place at the wrong time? The adult guy who shot Yusuf Ahmed is Ghanian from what I understand, and I heard that atleast one of the two minors charged alongside him is Somali (their names were not released). Not much has been said about his background but his being shot in broad daylight outside his apartment building suggests that there must've been some pretty heavy beef for such a brazen shooting.
  20. Driver charged in fatal crash at Royal York and Lawrence The driver of a stolen taxi cab involved in a three-vehicle crash that killed a man in his 60s and left his 39-year-old daughter in critical condition has been charged. Police say Abokar Ahmed-Ali , 23, will face several charges, including: Dangerous driving causing death. Criminal negligence causing death. Impaired driving. Failure to remain at the scene of an accident. Theft. The collision happened at Royal York Road and Lawrence Avenue West shortly before 8:30 a.m. Monday. A 23-year-old man was driving a taxi cab that had been stolen earlier in a fare dispute. The cab company said the dispute began when the man was upset about his fare. The driver felt threatened, got out of the car and that's when the passenger allegedly climbed into the driver's seat and drove off. The cab ran a red light at Royal York Road and Lawrence Avenue West and struck a pickup truck before flipping over and crashing into a Ford Escape. This sent the Ford into a pole, according to police. The 42-year-old man from the pickup truck was also taken to hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries. The driver of the stolen cab suffered minor injuries. He fled the scene but was arrested nearby. Police say excessive speed was a factor in the crash. Source 3 charged with murder in Albion Road shooting Three suspects arrested Monday in connection with the slaying of a 21-year-old man at an apartment building in the city's northwest have been charged with first-degree murder. Toronto Police arrested 19-year-old Emmanuel Ansah around 5:30 p.m. Monday, as well as two minors. All three suspects are from Toronto. The victim, identified as Yusuf Ahmed , was found suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body around 3 p.m. Monday at an apartment building near Albion and Weston roads, in the Rexdale neighbourhood. He was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Emmanuel and the two other suspects, who cannot be named under young offenders legislation, were arrested with the co-operation of witnesses, neighbours and security camera footage. The accused were scheduled to appear in court at 2 p.m. today at 2201 Finch Ave. W. This is the city's 36th homicide of the year. Source All in a week's work.

It is from a government website. Are you telling me you know more than the Canadian Immigration minister? Does the Canadian immigration minister need to consult with some Somali dude to know the amount of Somalis that live in Canada? Isn't that his job? The other link I gave was from the RCMP, the federal police. So? My data was from Statistics Canada. Are you telling me that a career politician (who is now the Minister of Employment) and a police force are conducting their own personal censuses? A magical census no less, as they must've managed to conduct it without the aid of several thousand census takers and mathmaticians/statisticians. There is literally no higher authority on Canadian statistics than the aptly named Statistics Canada. So, all you've done is shown that you, Jason Kenney and RCMP officials, need to take a high school statistics course.
  22. Those Somali Canadian figures are bogus and the only source for them is the Canadian Somali Congress, which can not be considered an accurate source as it would be in their interest to inflate numbers. According to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, there were 24000 Somalis who entered the country as refugees between 1989 and 2011. The Canadian Census of 2011 has 3 language classifications that can be used to determine how many Somalis there are in Canada. These are the Mother Tongue, the language most often spoken at home and other language spoken at home. For Canada, the Somali numbers for these are 31 380, 21 665 and 9 725 respectively, while for Greater Toronto Area they are 14 010, 9 870 and 4 845. The latter two options make the first one redundant in the case of Somalis, so with 31390 and 14715 people who identify themselves as speaking Somali as either a primary or secondary language at home, how can anyone claim there are 200,000+ Somalis living in Canada?
  23. It looks like these are ripe times for good-old Somali style McCarthyism. Someone should capitalize on this and establish one of those 'counter-terrorism' think-tanks that seem to be all the rage in the west.
  24. There nothing wrong with affixing 'land' to Somali states so long as the root of the word is indigenous. The Japanese word for Japan is in fact Nippon but they use the more widely known Chinese mispronunciation officially and China could also drop their Persian derived name and instead call themselves Zhōnghuá rénmín gònghéguó. You'll notice that it's the global superpowers of the past that determined what names would become more pragmatic today.
