  1. I love politicians, they all follow the same recipe no matter where they are: Health organizations/private enterprise/ global funds etc. carry out a project and the bureaucrats pat themselves on the shoulder for not getting in the way.

It's terrifying how quickly a life can change. She probably meant to pick her up, but hit her and accelerated as a result of panic (it happens to the best of us). I can't imagine what she and here family are going through right now.

  5. Holy moly! I just drove by there an hour ago. Sad to hear.

Nothing worse then getting out of your warm bed at 4:30 in the morning and deliver newspapers in the slippery cold weather full of self-imagined demons. Too true. I remember far too many -40C days as a paperboy in Edmonton. That short stint has turned me in to a norseman, I haven't bought a winter jacket since I moved to Toronto (4 years ago).
  8. My teenage career went like this : Paper boy (4 months)-> Grocery clerk(1 month) -> Telemarketer(3 months)->Gas station attendant(10 months)-> Electronic Retail(9 months)-> Warehouse shipping/recieving(7 months)-> Data Entry (1 year and 2 months) and now I'm a student.
  9. The two most important assets in securing the health and future of Somalis are an accurate population census and a land survey. No large scale health, education or civil infrastructure projects will be successful without them. Many have claimed control over large populations and swaths of land, yet they know nothing about either.

Why the personal attacks? I didn't target anyone in that post. In fact, this dubious style of spreading false information has been utilized by non-Muslims as well (like the false images of supposedly burned Christian corpses in Nigeria).
  11. I loved this one: The fact that she isn't Muslim isn't the worst part. Tt's that there hasn't been a woman on the moon let alone any manned moon missions in the past 40 years. Yet I still see this image floating around on Facebook from time to time.
  12. Reminds me of Dixon in Toronto: When will these leaders learn from the mistakes of other Africans? Look at what happened in Zimbabwe, material wealth will not solve the many social issues on that continent. Most of the inhabitants of those low income towers won't know how to maintain them and you'll likely create a new enclave.

  14. It has nothing to do with where you live. The fact that somalis goof up in great numbers around the world should be evidence enough.

We've had 47 murders so far in Toronto. Compare that with Chicago's (a similar sized city) 57 homicides in August alone and you get the picture. Crime rates in Toronto are the wet dreams of every big city mayor in the western hemisphere.

I can't insult that same person face to face because it is, erm, slandering. And not to mention about 'hate speech.' But nabigeena of all people, insulting him what can come from with the wildest imaginable evil person's mind, it is all in 'freedom of speech' category. Here, they know the limits of this crap piece they call 'freedom of speech.' Libel doesn't pertain to persons long dead from what I know. Also, slander cases should be handled in a courtroom, not by the hands of a blood-thirsty mob.
  19. It has been narrated on the authority of al-Bara' b. 'Azib who said: 'Ali b. Abu Talib penned the treaty between the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) and the polytheists on the Day of Hudaibiya. He wrote: This is what Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, has settled. They (the polytheists) said: Do not write words" the Messenger of Allah". If we knew that you were the Messenger of Allah, we would not fight against you. The Prophet (may peace be upon him) said to 'Ali: Strike out these words. He (Ali) said: I am not going to strike them out. So the Prophet (may peace be upon him) struck them out with his own hand. The narrator said that the conditions upon which the two sides had agreed included that the Muslims would enter Mecca (next year) and would stay there for three days, and that they would not enter bearing arms except in their sheaths or bolsters. I've always interpereted this hadith as essentially saying to 'save face'. أذلة على المؤمنين أعزة على الكافرين "...humble towards the believers, stern towards the disbelievers..." [Qur'an 5:54] @Rumaysah. Who here actually supports the propogation of this video? Is telling Muslims to not raise a violent mob at every insult considered to be non-humble?. There's nothing about the order of critisism being assigned in that verse. Most people operate under the idea that self-criticism is essential before criticising others. All you've done is twist a verse to remove accountablity from 1 billion + people.
  20. Didn't know where else to stick this, but here's Toronto's 4th or 5th Somali homicide victim for this year: The man fatally shot in Malvern early Saturday was killed in a dispute with a passenger in his car, according to police. Abdulaziz Farah, 28, of Toronto, was driving his black 2006 Acura TL on Fawcett Trail, near Morningside and Mclevin Aves., around 12:30 a.m. when a fight with his passenger broke out. “There was a violent encounter during which Mr. Farah received fatal wounds,” said Toronto police Det. Omar Khan. “His assailant then drove away from the scene in Mr. Farah’s car.” Farah died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. His car was found in a plaza parking lot near Kingston and Port Union Rds., about six kilometres from where the shooting took place. It’s now being examined by police. Khan said Farah was known to police, but declined to give further details or divulge where in Toronto he lived. He said he doesn’t have information showing the shooting was gang-related, and doesn’t believe Farah was headed to a specific address on that street. Police are appealing to anyone with information on Farah’s whereabouts and company Friday evening to contact them. Farah was 5-foot-11, 170 pounds and of Somalian descent. He was wearing a red checkered shirt, blue jeans, and white running shoes when he died. “I’m also appealing directly to the person or persons responsible for the death of Abdulaziz Farah to contact their lawyer and turn themselves in to police,” Khan said Sunday. Police are receiving a “great deal of cooperation” from the public, he said, but are also hoping to speak with the driver of a silver car spotted at the scene and anyone who saw Farah’s car that night Source: TheStar

She pretty much set the tone after that woman all women across the globe started to imitate her and cut their husbands sexual organs off. Men better watch out when they are sleeping at night or better yet never make a woman angry at night. Oh I see! I guess you're talking about Lorena Bobbitt. There was evidence to suggest spousal rape and violence in that case, so I can definitely see the comparison now.

Bluelicious;865227 wrote: We have a woman who who cut a man's sexual organ off don't recall her name anymore and now we have this woman who not only shot a man in his sexual organ but also beheaded him. In a way the man was asking for it thinking he could get away with it. Are you talking about the L.A case, in which the only crime committed by the man was filing for divorce? If so, I don't see how the two are comparable as one involves an allegedly battered woman and the other a sadistic psychopathic woman.

There's only so much your parents and the system can do to/for you before you have to hold yourself accountable.

What people see today is failed state that bunch of UN-educated gangs claim that they are implementing Sharia law…. What would this fabled Sharia state have to offer over secularism? I think we can all agree that it's relative hard to establish one (based on the fact that none have 'succeeded'), so what would the end result be to warrant this arduous task?

Chimera;865097 wrote: You basing your entire argument on that map-measuring program that is clearly outdated, it doesn't even cover the entire city, so its definitely important to point that out. Secondly, every single angle that you have tried to use to dismiss the concensus has been countered, from your biased picture examples, to the number of households, to the size of the average household, with historic and modern data. You have then tried to descredit the authorative body responsible for the research because they didn't cite their sources, which is comical since they're the 'source' who researched it independently, and no respected body or institution has called them out on it. Then when I pointed out that the population figure has been a consensus amongst academics, media and journalists, you came back with an article on Kibera and how the media inflated the figures, and you used a GOVERNMENT INSTITUTION based figure to prove your point. This is hilarious, its not even a case of 'let's agree to disagree'. only a lack of substance on your part to make a clear case to support your 'fringe' theory. You're assuming that I discarded the government 'data' because of bias. Had you actually read my paid attention you would know that the entire premise of my argument was the veracity of the government backed numbers. You also referred to my Kibera reference as being a red herring when in fact it's counter to the notion that the usage of numbers in the media isn't a authentication of said numbers. The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics publishes it's census and survey reports as can be seen here:Kenyan Population and Housing Census 2009. It details the methodology and extent of the survey. The document you linked to is not survey and does not provide any backing for it's data. That report wouldn't even qualify for any master's program, let alone the millions in foreign aid it's requesting. I posted my personal criticisms of the estimates and you managed find bias where there is none.
