If we're not related to any of our closest neighbours, then where did we come from?

Today I received my final exam marks for this semester. After receiving my history mark, I've only reinforced my disdain for the arts and humanities.

Our divergence from Egyptians goes back 6000-8000 years, long before any of their dynastic empires. I think we should forget about all of these old links and instead focus on creating an environment in Somalia that can sustain more intensive archaeological searches. We know next to nothing about the last 500 years (barring external literature), and can't even accurately describe recent large scale migrations within the country.

Cypress Hill is closest thing to Chicano rap in my music inventory, not really my cup of tea. Then again you'll all be speaking Spanish in the coming decades so I should prepare myself.

It's amazing how wide the gaps between North and South Korea are. South Korea is by far the world leader in ship building yet their northern counterparts are using derelict ships not worth retrieving. The North Korean care not for the crew members, and the ship isn't worth much. You'd think that the pirates would learn from their last encounter with Koreans.

She likely believes that we we used to be a dark blemish that was removed from a Yemeni man's face and thrown across the red sea.

There are strict policies in the public sector where employers are expected to promote diversity but the private sector is often unregulated. I phrased it poorly, what I should have asked is "does the hijab really play a role in employment/career opportunities?" I've worked in a couple of corporate offices and I've noticed that even some of the division/team leaders wore hijabs, so I was wondering if this phenomena was specific to Britain.

I don't get it. can a man rape his wife, is that plausable?

There's a big difference between playful coercion and rape. If we need to actually get in to the difference between the two, please don't get married and try to keep human contact to a minimum. -

Is this a last ditch effort for the dumbest thread of the year award? -
NGONGE;899824 wrote: ^^ Long? Have I not been complaining about scripts all this time, saaxib? What's making it worse however is the conduct of nomads I use to regard as normal people and the amazing rubbish they're coming up with. Take the starter of this thread for example. He's from PL, a land known the world over for its crazy pirates who abduct and kill innocent people for material gain yet he's angry because some Zambians attacked some of his kin and using labels such as baboons and savages! He's even trying to argue that Somalis are more human than these Zambians (the Somalis that drag dead corpses around the streets and dig up graves)! Naga daaya dee. Agreed. The issue here is not that our shit stinks, it's that we've deluded ourselves in to thinking it smells better than the shit of other Africans. I've noticed that this is usually the case when the other side isn't Muslim.

Jacpher;899533 wrote: I got this email this afternoon and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Apparently a Somali business owner kills an employee of his over salary dispute, the whole country goes out to hunt down any Somali and loot their businesses. People are running for their lives and losing their properties because some Somali guy on drugs who is in custody by the way, killed an innocent man. The army had to come in and move Somalis out into camps to rescue them. South Africa, Kenya and now Zambia? These African baboons must live in a different civilization. I pray my good friend out there makes it out safely insha'alaah. One of the video is very graphic. Consider the fact that Somalis have looted their civil infrastructure to an extent never seen on earth (power plant equipment, electric wiring, windows etc.). What is it with people on this site pretending that our largest city didn't descend in to barbarism two decades ago?

This is nothing new. European immigrants to North America have always anglicized their names and the more recent Asian immigrants are doing the same. It's a lot harder to change your skin colour or ethnic background though. Is it really that important of a factor in Britain?

I don't see anything wrong with gun ownership in general, it's the reverence of what is simply an inanimate tool that bothers me. -

A man in China stabbed 22 elementary students today, none of them died. So while guns aren't the cause of these incidents, they just make matters worse. -
TORONTO -- The hunt is on for a knife-wielding man stalking young boys at the city's busiest shopping mall. Police believe the same predator is behind two frightening attacks during the last few weeks at the downtown Eaton Centre. They have released images of a suspect in an effort to warn the public and hopefully make an arrest. The most recent incident happened Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. when police responded to a call for "a person with a knife" in the Yonge and Dundas Sts. mall. "An 11-year-old boy, while shopping at the Eaton Centre, was approached by (a man), police said Thursday. "The (man) indicated that he had a large knife and physically led the boy around the mall." The victim managed to escape after handing his cash over to the stalker, police said. The knife-wielding man is black, about 19 years old, 5-foot-9 to six feet tall and 160 pounds with his hair in short twists. Police said a man matching that description also accosted two 14-year-old boys at knifepoint in the Eaton Centre on Nov. 19. That attack wasn't initially reported to cops. The man threatened the boys while once again "physically leading them around the mall." "The boys were able to make good their escape," police said, adding nothing was taken from the pair. Anyone who recognizes the suspect, or who has information regarding this case, is urged to contact police at 416-808-5200 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477). I don't think the Brits realize how good they have it when it comes to television. They get the likes of Jim Al-Khalili, David Attenborough and Marcus du Sautoy, while we Canadian have to see David Suzuki's face every night as well as his attempts to cuddle Pandas and Sperm Whales.

Wadani;898330 wrote: what conundrum? I really dont get it. My bad, 'conundrum' was the wrong word to use. It wasn't long ago that a person of faith would ask an atheist " if law and order were to no longer exist, what would keep you from commiting acts of theft, violence etc.)" . The easy response to that would've been "if religion is all that keeps you from commiting such acts, then keep it". I think, for the most part, both sides of the debate have learned from experiences and dropped such shallow arguements. If you don't believe me, take a look at some of the older threads regarding religion on this board.
