I run to him often at the masjid. He's the most humble leader I've ever seen. Odaga cimrigiisa Alle ha u barakeeyo. Where is here?
  2. Virginia Mohamed Ali Samantar (Former Somali PM/Warlord) Abdi Bile's family is in Virginia. I think the man himself is a nomad. Toronto Xasaan Adan Samataar (musician) Texas Asli Hassan Abade (First Somali female Pilot) Buffalo Farmaajo (Former PM) Minnesota Ohio
  3. The civil war did not discriminate between the acclaimed (for good or bad) Somalis with us 'ordinary' folk in scattering us across the globe. Lets identify where the makers of Somali history (artists, athletes, politicians, ect.) and their families have ended up and to which Diaspora communities they belong. Lets see which famous Somali lives in your area, which can be used for academic, social, or simply trivia purposes. Please add on to the list both in people and regions Virginia Mohamed Ali Samantar (Former Somali PM/Warlord) Abdi Bile's family is in Virginia. I think the man himself is a nomad. 4. I bought a Turkish one. Is there much of a difference? or are the same?
  5. Speaking of Kabans/Ouds, I recently purchased one. Know any Somalis in the Minnesota area that will teach an aspiring Omar Dhule?
  6. I met a Tutsi, in Mogadishu. He worked for AMISOM. He joked with me that he is Somali. He mentioned how many of the tutsis in his country, Burundi see themselves as descendants/relatives of Somalis

Interesting. During my stay in Mogadishu, I was told such a project was going on but the person in charge was quite the inactive typical TFG character. I myself was interested in partaking in such a project, but I have been deterred by the claim, probably is fact, that the Somali culture has grown to become very conservative to the point where statues would not be accepted and would be deemed as unislamic or simply unwanted. What do you think of this?

  10. Interesting enough it is a general consensus amongst the science community that sleeping on your stomach is detrimental to your health and even personality http://www.fitsugar.com/Pros-Cons-Sleeping-Your-Side-Back-Stomach-14571804.
  11. =OdeyJacfar;901887]. Islaamaha can read atleast and understand langues like English, Swedish, Dutch, Norwegian and etc. What about the more popular languages such as Swahili, Arabic, Amharic. All the languages you listed are tongues of the white man. OdeyJacfar;901887 wrote: . We also gona have economist, political scientists, entertainers, leaders, and etc. Before the civil war, we had political scientists, economists, entertainers, leaders.... Though this argument has neglected these attributes because they were created in Somalia by Somalis. Because for these things to 'obviously' have any merit whatsoever and to be even considered a 'blessing' is for it to be interrelated with the west, courtesy of the civil war.
  12. It is easy to say to coin the civil war as a blessing in disguise from your comfortable suburbia with your high speed internet. Why don't you ask the millions of Somalis who did not escape the country and have witnessed bloodshed and poverty for over twenty years if this civil war was a 'blessing in disguise'
  13. there is a somali verse at the end of "70 excuses"
  14. This was not the place. It was another low-scale version of the restaurant in the picture. It is owned by the same man. The one where the bomb occurred only serves tea and coffee.
