Somali Stock Exchange set to open next year 2015
DoctorKenney replied to malistar2012's topic in Politics
Let the trading begin!! :D I know it's only a few companies right now, but this is good news. This can lead to entrepreneurial Somalis beginning to create their own corporations. More and more of these new corporations will be listed on the Somali Stock Exchange. Not only that, this is an extremely effective way to pool our resources and attract investment to Somali start-up companies which have very little capital. This could literally lead to the jump-start of hundreds, if not thousands, of Somali corporations. My only wish is that Somalia had a stable, reliable currency which we can use. The rule of law and strong financial institutions could also help as well. And a safe business environment would also be very beneficial.... -
This is a simple diversion used by Christian missionaries to confuse the common Muslim. This whole discussion had already occurred way back in the 1980's with Ahmed Deedat, when he debated Christian missionary Jimmy Swaggart. It's a tired topic

As usual, Black-Americans start looting and destroying Ferguson
DoctorKenney replied to DoctorKenney's topic in General
“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs – partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.” Booker T Washington (1910) This Black intellectual wrote these words in 1910, more than 100 years ago, and yet it applies today to Black "leaders" such as Michael Eric Dyson, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and others. They want to preach this "victim-hood" mentality and as a result Blacks perpetually feel as if they're victims. As if they can't do anything to uplift themselves. It's shameful and a self-fulfilling prophecy. -
The Grand Jury Verdict is out, and the Jury decided that there just wasn't enough evidence to charge the Police Officer Darren Wilson for killing 18 year old Mike Brown. So the evidence in this case supports Officer Wilson So what do the Black-Americans do in response? How did they react in Ferguson, Missouri? They start looting and destroying their own neighborhoods, setting fire to dozens of buildings, and wrecking havoc all over the city.

And just so you know. Peter Kassig--the man ISIS beheaded--was an American convert to Islam. Yeah, he converted to Islam. He changed his name to Abdulrahman. And he was in Syria working in refugee camps to assist those civilians suffering as a result of the civil war. And ISIS beheads him. Wallahi they are a Satanic group and anyone who supports this group is either unbelievably naive or they're detached from reality.
-
You are blatantly lying here CidanSultan. ISIS has been harshly criticized and condemned by all Muslim scholars in every country. Not just Saudi Arabia. Scholars from the West, North Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, Indonesia, Somalia, and many other places have given us NUMEROUS evidences using the Quran/Sunnah that ISIS is a deviant group and should be disassociated with. Maybe you should look into the evidences instead of going on a rant criticizing Bashar Assad (who no one on this forum even loves anyway). As if Assad's crimes justify this crap being perpetrated by ISIS! You're just as bad as the Assad supporters. Or the Zionist supporters. Can you tell me what justified Peter Kassig's death a few days ago? The man was an AID WORKER who was distributing food to Syrian refugees, and ISIS beheads the man and makes a whole spectacle out of it. What about the deaths of thousands of Sunni Arabs, Shias, Kurds, etc. I sincerely advise you to fear Allah with your statements. And stop carelessly supporting a deviant group like ISIS.

Now these Liberals are pulling "The Cosby Show" off of their networks. People are judging Bill Cosby as guilty even though he's never been convicted of a crime. Saaxib, these people are trashing these men, destroying their reputations, and harming their careers, merely based off some accusation which no one can prove. Nowadays in America, a man's life/career can be destroyed based ONLY on a woman's accusation.
-
I find this hard to believe. This media circus only came about when a Black Comedian (Hannibal Burress) called Bill Cosby a rapist while he was performing on stage. Ever since then, you have a bunch of women ALL claiming that Cosby raped them like 40 years ago, with absolutely no evidence at all. There isn't even evidence that Cosby even MET some of these women. They're trying to smear this man's reputation. Guilty or not, Bill Cosby has been judged "guilty" by the media and the court of public opinion. So his legacy has forever been tarnished because of this.
-
Why don't I criticize them? Saaxib how long have you been on this forum? I criticize these degenerate groups all the time! Maybe you should pay attention more instead of swallowing the propaganda of this disgusting group called ISIS. ISIS threatens American interests, but it also threatens our interests as well. You are a Somali, you should look at developments through a Somali perspective and whether it benefits Somalia/Somaliland. ISIS would dismantle the Maamulka SNM if given the opportunity, and you definitely know it. I've given more than enough evidence that ISIS is a Khawaarij group. There have been literally HUNDREDS of Muslim organizations, scholars, and community-based groups which label ISIS as a Khawaarij group. Everyone from Yusuf Al Qaradhawi, to Muhammad Al Arifi, to Yasir Qadhi, to everyone in between. It's funny because in some threads you talk about the great influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and how great Mohamed Morsi was, but then you forget the fact that the Ikhwan absolutely DESPISE this group called ISIS. This is cognitive dissonance saaxib. You're holding contradictory beliefs in your head

@Mooge said: alpha needs help. lol. niyooow his antrabaqash became irrelevant and he likes to be center of attention. +1 This is 100% true saaxib

@galbeedi said: I have a beef with administrators. They are policing my comments. I never write any thing hostile or abuse. the other day I wrote " madax Faluuq" referring to a real " madax Faluuq",and it did disappear quickly. I remember my comments were deleted by the Moderators as well when I criticized Alpha and showed (using his own posts as evidence) how despicable he is.

@SomaliaPatriot said: When ISIS lands in Maamulka Amxaarkalkaalland will they behead murtad(murtad in their eyess) Siilaanyo and other servants of the Ethiopians? CidanSNM, dont you want that to happen? The heads of the murtaddiin(murtaddiin in the eyes of isis, not me) siilaanyo, waraabe and all the other agents of xabashis? CiidanSNM doesn't know that one of the trademarks of the Khawaarij is to make halal the slaughter of innocent civilians, including foreign aid workers and journalists. CidanSNM doesn't know that you can't just dismiss their killings as "wrong" and then go on supporting this wretched Satanic group. ISIS has demonstrated their complete lack of knowledge on Islam, their careless slaughter of innocent civilians, and their complete lack of support from within Islamic scholarship. They fight the description of the Khawaarij perfectly. They claim to stand for Islam but they stand against all Islamic principles and teachings. And this disgusting terrorist group will finally meet their end soon, inshaAllah

@galbeedi said: Alpha, rather been banned, I shall resign. how about that. Saaxib, please don't resign from this forum. Your contributions have been very valuable and very eye-opening. And many many members here agree with me as well. The only reason why I even opened this thread is because I seen you were the one who commented last. I normally never click on this dumb thread "Alphas Troll and Cantarbaqash Corner" I never took this Alpha Blondy character seriously. Alpha's annoying as hell, and if it was up to me, this jaahil would be BANNED from this forum wallahi. If it's worth mentioning, Alpha and me have disliked each other strongly for years. And it never bothered me one bit.

@SomaliaPatriot said: Oday, are you not amused by CidanSNM's weird politics. On one hand he praises and proudly supports the ugly ethiopian state maamulka snm(Kilinka Lexaad), on other hand the guy is big fan of terrorists isis . CidanSNM has no idea that this Satanic group ISIS would destroy his triangle-SNM State if given the opportunity. The irony is too real saaxib
-
Screw the Khawaarij group "ISIS" and screw anyone who supports this degenerate, filthy group. Their end is coming very soon. You can count on it.

Stop with the insults please Cidan Galbeedi is making some very solid points here. The people of Awdal went through very harsh experiences in the period after 1991. And Xaaji, SL wasn't the only "neglected" portion of Somalia. The land of Bari, Nugaal, Mudug, Galgudud, etc. They were also neglected. The land was a baadiyow and there was very little economic opportunities there. You're correct, but you're not telling the whole story Xaaji. P.S. Welcome back Xaaji Xunjuf :D

Tallaabo, maybe instead of denying the problem. You should acknowledge the problem and see that Maamulka SNM is going through severe turmoil, and Siilaanyo isn't making things any better. I propose the solution that Abdiweli Gaas of Puntland mediate the disputes between the Somalilanders Maybe he can come up with an acceptable solution :D
-
Yes you're right. Somalia as a nation-state is not a political reality, it's nothing more than an idea. Which is why I'm emphasizing this President make this into a political reality as soon as possible. At least Somaliland can secure their own territory. At least Puntland can do the same thing. Yet this Federal Government can barely secure even Mogadishu, so this President--if he was intelligent--would be focusing his energies on securing his country first. Before he gets involved in any of those petty, trivial matters. He has to focus on actually securing the country. Because honestly saaxib, what's the use of being "President" if you don't even have effective control over your country. He's President in name only. But not in reality. And how can you expect the Somalilanders and Puntlanders to respect this government when they can't even muster control over Xamar, let alone the rest of the country? And what is Culusow currently doing to change that? All those examples you cited about the US Founding Fathers and the Ottoman Turks, can't be compared to what's going on in Somalia. Because at least the Ottomans had control over their territory. The Ottoman Empire was a political reality, it was a real State. At least the early US Founding Fathers had control over their own country. When Alexander Hamilton was killed by the sitting US Vice-President, the United States of America was a political reality and was a country which had control over it's own borders. And the only way for Culusow to "undermine" these men, is for him to build up his own power. He should increase his own power by vastly improving the Somali Army and Navy. He should be lobbying the Europeans for weapons shipments and tanks. He should be introducing conscription into Somalia, where every young man is required to serve 3 years in the Somali military. He should create a massive and powerful Army which can secure the country, defeat Al-Shabab, and kick out the Ugandan soldiers from our country once and for all. Any intelligent man knows that's the ONLY thing that we can create a sustainable peace. Once he does this, then he can approach the Somalilanders and Puntlanders from a position of strength, and then negotiate a deal between them. If he doesn't do this, then this civil war will continue. And it will continue. And perhaps in the future, the Americans and Europeans will be sick of this constant turmoil, and they will authorize the breakup of Somalia into several different States, which would be absolutely disastrous. But it's not unlikely. It could very well happen. It's happened to Yugoslavia and it can happen to Somalia as well. Our country can be broken up into several small states.

@thefuturenow said: He does not need the West. And that is biggest threat to Western powers--a Somalia independent of their influence. And that is what I want to see more than anything. A Somalia independent from the influences of other countries, a Somalia that doesn't NEED other countries. A country that's self-reliant and powerful
-
@thefuturenow said: If you're not an idealist, then you must be a life counselor because you love the word "should, should, should." Akh, politics is the world of CAN. Every man enters it with a checklist of things he "should" do and things he "wants" to do. But, if you have lived life to adulthood, you know that what you "should" and "want" to do quickly take a back seat to what can be done. And all those things that you're saying the president should have done. They don't need a president to solve. Those problems are waiting for YOU and I i.e. the Somali people. A reformer is nothing more than a politician with good luck and a lot of friends to write nice things about him after his death. True reformation is internal and for each individual. But, if you mean government reform, then there is nothing to reform. We just got started trying to become a modern State. Our problem is the people. And it will take time before they can start trusting each other again. P.S. The somali constitution is incomplete and unclear. It says the PM must consult with President. That consultation may mean many different things. It may mean that he needs to inform the president or seek his approval. That is a major difference. And in the absence of institutions to settle this dispute, this political struggle is the alternative. In other words, he who wins gains those powers that are being fought over right now PERMANENTLY. Think about it. If the PM is ousted for re-shuffling the president's men, it will never be attempted again by another PM if the Somali state lives on. This is not a futile fight my brother. This is for (most) of the marbles. Sorry for the late reply, I really got caught up and I couldn't get to a computer. TheFutureNow, yes I agree that the task of reforming Somali Society isn't all on Culusow's shoulders. But he's fully responsible on sparking a Somali reformation, he's responsible for getting the wheels moving. He's in the unique position of being President of a country that's currently in turmoil, but he has the benefit of having international funding. So why doesn't he use his uniquely beneficial position to affect real change in the country? Why does he spend so much time on petty, trivial matters? He should instead focus his energies on building up support across the country. I would expect him to be in Hobyo, in Beledweyne, in Qardho, and in other cities building up support and trying to help set up the establishment of civil administrations across the country. I want him to be visiting refugee camps every month, talking to the civilians in Somalia, and promising to assist them when he gets the ability to. He needs to demonstrate a genuine love for his people. And I'm not seeing it. Somali women are being raped every single day and children are dying through starvation. Hundreds of thousands of our own people are in refugee camps outside of Xamaar. And I don't see the President treating this as a serious matter. I'm not asking for much saaxib. I'm not demanding Culusow be like Umar bin Khattab or Suleiman the Magnificent. I'm not even asking him to be like Aden Cadde. All I'm asking for is a moderately good politician to lead our country. If he was as good as Abdiweli Gaas in Puntland, then I wouldn't even be typing this. But Culusow is even worse than Sheikh Shariif ever was. He's far more corrupt and far less willing to tackle the problems in our country. The people are corrupt, I agree. But we really don't have time to wait 30 years for the mentality of the Somali people to slowly change. The mentality of Somalis can ONLY change through peace and education. When Somalia is in chaos....that's naturally going to have a negative effect on the mentality of the people. Culusow should focus ONLY on securing the country and kicking out the Bantu soldiers. That's ALL that matters right now. When US President George Washington was fighting against the British in 1776, he wasn't focused on such petty, trivial issues. He was focused on expelling the British from his country, and securing his territory. That was ALL that mattered at the time. AND THEN after the war was finished, he then focused on less important issues. Because George Washington knew what was important. And he was an intelligent man. So why isn't Culusow focused solely on defeating Al Shabab and kicking out these Ugandan soldiers out of Somalia? Does he not see his job as important?

TheFutureNow, you have a point that the Leader is often a reflection of the people. But sometimes when you have a society like Somalia, which has some deep deep problems, it becomes mandatory that we have a Leader that rises above the pettiness and small-mindedness that characterizes much of that society. You need a reformer saaxib. We need an actual Leader, not some tribal politician who gets into petty fights over minor issues, while the country itself is burning. And the Leader doesn't even have to be perfect. The leaders of Rwanda, or Turkey, or Malaysia fit this description. They've made obvious mistakes while being President, but they are exactly what their country needed and I'll lay off the criticism of them. I'm not an idealist saaxib, but I do have standards when it comes to what a President should/shouldn't do. When a man approaches you and wants to marry your daughter, you have a checklist of what kind of man you want him to be, am I correct? You want a man who has a steady career, doesn't get involved in drugs or crime, has a decent character, and who prays 5 times a day. Am I right? He doesn't have to be perfect, but he has to be good enough. In other words, you have standards. So why don't we have standards for our Presidents? Why do we accept complete losers to lead a country of 10 million people? It's madness saaxib. P.S. And from what I understand....in the Somali Constitution, the affairs of the government are ran by the Prime Minister, who has most of the control and performs most of the executive functions. After the President appoints him, he stands aside while the Prime Minister does most of the actual work of governing. If any sincere man was in Qoslaaye's shoes, he would permit Yuulka to perform this job while Qoslaaye focuses on uniting the country, traveling from village to village and trying to build up support for the Federal Government in Mogadishu. He should use his energies to reform and create a professional Army and Police Force in Somalia. He should be focused on increasing the power of the Somali Government, so that it controls all of the country. He should be focused on creating legitimacy. If he knows that he has a limited time-period where he can be President, he should use his energies to where it's most needed...and ignore the petty squabbles which characterize most Somali Governments. Qoslaaye got into a similar fight with his previous Prime Minister Saacad, and now he's playing the same games with Baldy. Even if Qoslaaye was financially corrupt and stole money, I would ignore it as long as he actually stabilized the country and created a Professional Somali Military. I don't expect him to be perfect, but I expect him to be good enough. And saaxib, he ISN'T good enough

@Tillamook said: The IC has spoken: Motion is no go. Culusow not happy! Yuulka also instructed to help save face and reverse some of the cabinet moves he made in his reshuffle(..not clear whether Minister Faraax will get back his old ministry which started this whole affair). Overall, Culusow tried to play hardball and attempted to stare down the I.C, but unfortunately for him, he came up short. There are some battles you choose to fight. And sometimes you have to know when to not fight. Staring down the International Community over some petty Ministerial positions, when Somalia is in a fragile and weak state is not the best course of action. Either Culusow has the worst possible advisers, or he's unbelievably dim-witted.

@Odey said: Personally I think both these two men are silly. the level of silliness differs between them and the president is being the silliest, but the PM is right there with him. I hope for the sake of the country, they resolve their " I can spit further than you" BS and get the country moving. If all fails, lets lock them up in a room and let them fight their demons out. I don't know very much about this Prime Minister Abdiweli, but he's looking very bad right now. And I can safely say that Qoslaaye is the most ignorant jaahil ever to reside in Villa Somalia. He has no intelligence, no patriotism, he doesn't care about Islam. He doesn't care that Somali women are being raped every hour by foreigners. He doesn't care that Somali teenagers are dying in the Mediterranean while trying to escape the poverty in their homeland. He doesn't care that the rest of Africa is leaving us behind while we're running around in circles. He doesn't care that Al Shabab still exists and is still a major threat in the country But he does care about his buddies being fired by Prime Minister Abdiweli. He does care that some Ministers were shuffled around. Anyone who supports this jaahil xayawaan doqoon should be ashamed of themselves.

@thefuturenow said: Dr. K; these men and their actions should not diminish your hope in the Somali nation. These men are engaged in a power battle and rightly so. It is natural for human beings to be tested with other human beings and their own vain desires. That's what we are witnessing; a struggle between humans each trying to impose their desires on another. But it is a good and necessary struggle. And its speedy and civil resolution can only be called progress. Saaxib, this political storm is proof of how deeply rotten Somali society is. Wallahi our society and culture has become rotten to the core, and this is just another example of that. There's no concept of "compromise" with this Federal Government in Somalia. It never occurs to the President that you don't have to like your coworker, you just have to tolerate him and be able to work with him. President Obama hated Hillary Clinton, and she despised him right back. But that didn't stop them from working together and cooperating. But with Somalis, these political fights happen all the time. We seen it when Sheikh Shariif fired Prime Minister Farmaajo a few years ago. We seen it last year when Qoslaaye couldn't get along with his first Prime Minister. This just keeps happening over and over saaxib. It doesn't make any sense. Somali women are being raped in refugee camps in our own country by foreign soldiers. Somali families are starving to death and we want to focus on this STUPID and idiotic political game? Like this is almost like a cartoon show. WHY is the President getting angry simply because some Ministers are being shuffled around? Does he not have more important things to concern himself with? This President is an absolute disaster. I can't take him seriously at all.
-
This is him. His name is Abdirahman Duale Beyle. I can imagine his calool must be huge after being Somali Foreign Minister for almost a year :
