  1. Threaten him in a menacing way, and hopefully a few of your cousins/friends will get the hint and surround that Giant Man

Xaaji Xunjuf;874618 wrote: Its called double diplomacy satisfying his citizens the (Koonfurians) that he believes that the union should be restored and at the same talking about the history of Somaliland and showing good signals towards Somaliland that Somalia and Somaliland unity will never be forced by him. Excellent statement by a politician i would say. On his policy towards Alshabaab its smart to divide them into 3 categories the islamist foreigners they need to be fought and he is trying to rescue as much youth he can. And the 3rd are the islamists nationalist they need to be given a chance in the new Somalia like the xisbal Islaam and others. The President seems to be a man who knows exactly what he's doing. He's being statesman-like while at the same time he knows what to be said and how to handle different groups of people. I don't agree with this article at all, Hassan Sheikh is doing fine so far
  3. Somalia;874614 wrote: Do you suggest a rehabilitation plan, the factory comment wasn't as bad as the writer suggested if there's plans to readjust them but how can you rehabilitate a child that is now an adult who has been taught something from conscription? And they are adults, not our children, not anymore. How can one separate who believes what? A rehabilitation program would be an excellent idea, and it remains the best option available in dealing with Shabaab militants. Some of the Shabaab militants are indeed a lost cause, but I think prison should be handle those militants well To be able to do this however, we need mass manpower, with social workers, psychologists, and even teachers employed to rehabilitate former Shabaab militants and Shabaab-sympathizers. There are some Somalis who, even though they are not part of Shabaab, they still sympathize with Shabaab's rules and tactics. Those people are an enormous worry...
  4. Almost everyone on this forum--including myself--believed that the President spoke well when mentioning the issue of Somaliland. He spoke with respect, he spoke with sensitivity, and at the same time he expressed his hope that Somalia is reunified. The President should--and I believe he is--focusing on rebuilding the South and getting rid of Al Shabaab before the issue of Somaliland is brought up. Furthermore, many Al Shabaab fighters are indeed "our children", who have been conscripted as young as 12 years old. The Government should be focusing on getting this under control as well
  5. Seeing the photograph of the young girl's face made me sick to my stomach. What a tragedy. AUN to Fartun and hopefully her family recovers from this
  6. Sulleiman The Great;870191 wrote: George Washing was instrumental in establishing the ideas of a democratic and free republic, does that take away from Eisenhower, Lincoln or Jefferson contributions in shaping the america we know today, there is no argument that C/llahi Yusuf established Puntland, would it have been the same Puntland we know today if not for the leadership of all the presidents that have succeeded him?. You have a point there, but I really believe Faroole hasn't done as much as he should have when it came to administering Puntland. Men like Jefferson and Lincoln actually advanced their nation greatly. but I can't say the same for Faroole. He doesn't know what he's doing. Puntland deserves a far more competent leader than this clown Faroole.
  7. Sulleiman The Great;870181 wrote: if only your warped mind was the reality on the ground, the only thing faroole has done so far is put puntland first just as the politician in xamar put xamar first and those in the north somali region put hargeysa first...The only reason faroole is hated is because of who he was born of. Its sad to see puntlander trying to appease these people tomorrow if faroole left they would hate the new president of puntland with the same vigor . Long live president faroole and Long live the only self governing stable region of somalia PUNTLAND. You and I both know that Abdullahi Yusuf deserves the credit for establishing, and stabilizing Puntland. Faroole played no part in stabilizing the region at all. He just inherited it. NEXT!
  8. General Duke;870128 wrote: ^^^ Hus snub today is outrageous. It's not in the interest of our nation. Faroole needs to go he is wasting valuable Somali time.. I'm starting to view Silaanyo as less of a threat to Somali interests than Faroole. Faroole definitely has got to go. He's unpopular in Puntland and he stands in the way of reconciliation
  9. This song with Shamsa Foot isn't too bad. To me, she's very hit-and-miss. Sometimes she's good, other times I can't stand her music
  10. This sounds a little pessimistic, but I really believe the Somali diaspora should take their focus off constructing things such as hotels. In a country like Somalia where most of the people are struggling, hotels aren't really needed and doesn't seem like a good business plan to help grow the country. Now, if a Somali-American or Somali-European decided to build a factory in Somalia, employing 250 workers, then that would be a far better business plan. You could sign contracts with foreign firms stipulating that you provide these products for a reasonable price. If the Somali factory is making plastic, or microwaves, or vacuum cleaners, then you could provide these products at a cheap price if you think of a good business plan and take advantage of Somalia's relatively cheap labour. THAT would do a great service to Somalia, as well as making huge profits
  11. I don't know much about this man, but I am nonetheless optimistic!
  12. Inshallah Hassan Sheikh Mahamud doesn't lose this lead! Sharif Ahmed will be history!
  13. Miyir;866089 wrote: I don't share your optimistic views yet. Somalia is at cross-road now as we speak, tomorrow we will find out which road Somalia will take, till then lets hope the best! You're focused on the men, when you should be more focused on the system What's more important than men, is the System which these men operate in. I can't stand Sheikh Shariif, but if he wins this election Somalia can (and will) move forward anyway. As long as a credible system is set up, we can have freer and fairer elections in 4 years time. Meanwhile, we can do what we can to build our country, feed the people, and defeat Godane's Criminal Gang. South Korea was once led by despots and power-hungry generals. However a credible system still existed, so that the powers of these men were checked. And as the standard of living rose in South Korea, the people began to demand higher-quality leaders.
  14. A functioning Somali State is much less of a threat to Kenya when compared to a hostile Taliban-Style dictatorship of a Godane-led Somalia. If Al Shabaab regrouped and conquered Somalia, they would then launch attacks on Kenya and Uganda in revenge.
  15. xiinfaniin;865500 wrote: Kismayo will not easily fall ...sadly the damage has already been done as the residents were forced to flee. Alshabaab are wounded, and the wounded, as the cliche goes, is ever more dangerous. News feeds indicate that instead of fleeing into the jungle , they dug their feet deeper , waiting for the enemy to arrive at the outskirts of the city. Not sure if the carnage that will follow is something Kenyans have stomach for I don't think the Kenyans have much of a choice now. They dug themselves pretty deep into this war. If AMISOM pulls out of Somalia now, you don't think Al Shabab will regroup, reconquer Somalia, and then launch attacks against Uganda/Kenya/Burundi? The Kenyans now know that this war in Somalia is tied to their national security, and that defeating Al Shabab is crucial to their well-being.
  16. It's hard to imagine that 1 year ago, Al Shabaab was literally firing rockets at Villa Somalia in Mogadishu. The TFG was weak and surrounded by these militias. What a difference 1 year makes
  17. oba hiloowlow;863729 wrote: As Faarax Brawn said he was the leader the only 2 times Mogadishu seen stability and peace. That was just a splendid coincidence my friend. Sharif Ahmed is just a figurehead. He hasn't actually done anything of substance. The Prime Minister and AMISOM deserve the credit here...not him. Sharif Ahmed wasn't even competent enough to pay his own soldiers
  18. Perhaps the Somali diaspora can help by paying taxes directly to Puntlands government. You'd be surprised at how much money can be raised like this. Somaliland managed to raise millions in government revenue and set up a system with very little foreign support. You have to admire this.
  19. Sharif is Mr. International Flights/5 Star Hotels.... The man spends more time out of the country sleeping in expensive hotels and flying 1st Class...then being in Somalia and developing political relationships with various factions in Somalia. He has no creativity and no vision. His idea of being President is having crowds cheering for him while foreign dignitaries greet him. There really isn't much going on in his brain at all...and I'm being kind here. He hasn't done as much as he should have. Men such as Abdiweli Ali have done far more for the country in a lot less time Somalia has a shortage of: 1. Competent Men 2. Honest Men And Sheikh Sharif is neither Competent ....nor is he honest. He has no principles and Somalia deserves better then having men like him be our President

Not that it matters, but specially our neighbours that have given us shelter and passage out of the civil war which morons like yourself would like to continue. Can we do a vote to ban this member please? What a disgusting display of propaganda and honestly they call themselves muslims. I'm disgusted by Maaddeey's propaganda....I don't understand how he can still sympathize with Al Shabaab after all thats been going on lately. But I guess you can't teach common sense
  21. Dragging and displaying dead soldiers is an absolute disgrace.
  22. burahadeer;862586 wrote: really like your debate but I don't think so.How if we just be separate for sake of peace...borders open,no passports required, people trade, intermarry, live where eva they wana be....that's how it's today. You think you'r in mogadishu If you go to Hargeisa. Well then if the borders are open, and passports aren't required, and people live amongst each other...then it's not really 2 independent nations is it? Wouldn't it simply be better for Somaliland to be a federal State just like Puntland and Galmudug? Wouldn't that be an effective compromise? Each Federal State would have their own laws, their own Parliament, but they will still be flying the Blue Somali flag, use the Somali passport, and use the Somali shilling as currency. Wouldn't that be better for everyone?
  23. I'm sorry.... but to me an independent Somaliland just doesn't seem feasible. They couldn't get recognition for 21 years even though the South was in chaos and they were relatively stable. Now that the South is improving rapidly, it kinda takes away some of the appeal towards independence.
  24. What I think is ultimately going to happen is that Somaliland will withdraw their appeal for Independence and instead be a federal state in Somalia, just like Puntland and Galmudug
  25. Somalia;862571 wrote: I want Abdiweli & Baadiyow. Though I am not fond of Islamists, he seems more caring and engaging than others. Maybe Baadiyow is an example of how Islamists should behave...I met Baadiyow and I have to say I was very impressed with him. He has a clear vision as to where he wants to take the country and he seems very sincere. However, he isn't fond of Abdiweli, Sharif or anyone else in the TFG.
