For the 1st time ever, I actually agree with Apophis. It doesn't matter if they call themselves Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Marxist, Capitalist, Democrat, Republican. People are the problem, and ironically they are also the solution. "If Allah had not repelled some men with others, the Earth would have surely become corrupt" (Quran 2:251)
  2. Sharmarke, I don't think there's any use reasoning with him on this basis. He knows he's doing nothing but repeating old Fox-News quotes. We've heard this crap for the last 10 years, no surprises there. He's forgetting the fact that Muslims have had a long and rich history, and that we weren't always like this. We weren't always in the poor and powerless state we're in today. He's forgetting the prosperous and booming years of the Abbasid and Ottoman Caliphates, the Muslim Caliphate in Cordoba with its thousands of libraries, hospitals and universities. Xabad isn't aware of these things. His knowledge on world history only reaches back 10 years.
  3. This story has to be fake. Some troll thought it up and decided to post it online
  4. After listening to this, I've decided that if I ever have children, I'm gonna do everything in my power to prevent them from studying "sociology" or "social sciences" in University. Your Professors indoctrinated you to buy their B.S., and it's sickening to witness this on SOL. You would've been better off studying Chemistry or Engineering, not this crap. Men are the way they are due to human nature, and so are women. You could put a few men and women on a desert island, and within a few years you'll notice that men and women naturally fulfill different roles. To think otherwise is to deny reality, and I'm actually offended to be reading this.
  5. LOL Safferz is such a Liberal. It's actually shocking. Men such as Ryan Seacrest and Perez Hilton are also "male", but I doubt most people would consider then real men.
  6. Are you seriously kidding me? Moon God? You think I'm gonna abandon theism? Really? I have no use in debating this if you're gonna respond like this. Take it or leave it. My advice to you is: increase your knowledge on Islam as well as Atheist philosophy, read the debates on both sides, look at the evidences, then reach the obvious conclusion.
  7. Atheist arguments can be summed up by a few points: 1. If there is a God, how come I've never seen him? 2. If there is a God, why do terrible things happen (floods, earthquakes, massacres) everyday? How come he doesn't stop it? 3. You only believe in God because you're afraid of going to HellFire All of these are purely EMOTIONAL arguments with no basis, and yet Atheists argue that they are the rational ones! Xabad, I would believe in Allah even if I believed there was no Afterlife. Look at my previous posts. And now think it over. I'm not asking you to believe in the Message of Mohammed (pbuh), as that is a different discussion which can be brought up another day. All I'm asking you to do is to think rationally, and you would inevitably reach the conclusion that there is One God, a self-aware intelligent Creator who controls the Universe. I would have more respect for you if you were a Deist. A Deist is someone who disbelieves in the Quran, Bible, Torah etc. but still holds onto the belief in the Supreme Creator, who is responsible for this Universe. That is a position that (although I disagree with it) I can ultimately understand. Atheism is illogical, whereas Deism is at least somewhat logical. There is a reason why Atheists (especially on Reddit) tend to focus all their efforts in criticizing the Old Testament and other religious scriptures, but can't even elaborate their own beliefs
  8. Bro, we humans knew almost nothing about the world, and how the world works 1000 years ago. But the more we learn about this universe, the more unbelievably complex it becomes, the more it should serve as a sign to anyone who uses their rationality that there is a Creator. It would have actually made more sense to be an Atheist 1000 years ago, when our knowledge of the Universe was very little. Now, in the 21st century, we know about all of the different elements, the structure of the atom, the structure of DNA and the billions of galaxies that any critical person would reach the conclusion that there is a God. Ironically, atheism has been flipped on it's head and killed with the introduction of modern science. Let's leave it on the floor and not try to revive it
  9. Using "bleeding-edge physics", which is basically speculative physics over which there is no consensus and no evidence to argue a point which directly contradicts what's been established, is so far-fetched that I'm honestly shocked at how the Atheists who cling to this "belief" put the onus on Theists to prove themselves! Which means Atheists, believe in something which has no evidence, which contradicts The Laws of Entropy as well as other established laws, and then turn around and claim that Theists have blind beliefs. The last 10 years of modern science did much to disprove Atheist Philosophy. This is why most modern Atheists base their arguments on things like "Evolution" and other theories (which doesn't disprove the existence of a self-aware Creator) but can't defend their beliefs from a metaphysical standpoint.
  10. I read the link, and I read it again, and it still doesn't undermine my argument or the argument of other Theists; that everything in the Universe has a Cause&Effect and since the Big Bang occurred 13 billion years ago, then Someone must have caused it. The fact that we call this Ultimate Cause "God" doesn't change anything. The article was mere speculation, and was attempting to prove in theory that our Universe spontaneously came into Being without a Creator. To argue that space and time didn't exist but matter could still have existed despite that (which is what many Atheists argue) is ridiculous, as matter cannot exist without either space or time, and this was even addressed in this recent debate between a Muslim and an Atheist Physicist:
  11. I was just going through this thread, and I'm extremely disappointed to see that Maadeey was essentially alone when confronting these Somali Atheists. Maadeey was outnumbered by a group of self-righteous arrogant Atheists who use the same tired arguments when challenging Islam. The greatest tragedy of the last 40 years was this belief--this unjustified belief--that Atheists are somehow rational and logical and that Theists are the ones who need to defend their positions. But its interesting to note that when a Learned Muslim directly challenges an Atheist on his beliefs, the Atheist is struggling to even put together anything coherent. There is a God. There is One God and there can only be one God who is the originator of the Universe. Anyone who is remotely interested in finding out the truth would inevitably reach that conclusion. To think otherwise just proves that the Atheist should not be taken seriously as someone logical. Why else do you think Atheists tend to get caught up in debating the "Theory of Evolution" or "The Violent Nature of Religion" but they can never actually discuss the substantive issues. I should not be required to "prove" that this Universe has a creator. The Atheist should be required to prove that the Universe spontaneously came into being, as this is what he asserts. To actually believe that conscious beings emerged from unconscious matter spontaneously without a Creator to initiate it, is the height of absurdity. This is a link that disproves Atheists and there "No God" bull crap http://www.call-to-monotheism.com/the_scientific_world_is_turning_to_god__by_a_o_
  12. 1. By time 2. Indeed, mankind is in loss 3. Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds, and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. (Surah 103 "Al-Asr")
  13. Aaliyyah;948743 wrote: If I elaborate a lil on your statement "guurso ama u guuriya", Somalis usually hide the mental state of the individual from the prospective spouse. It is quite sad and danbi. That's actually a SERIOUS problem. I've seen one too many unsuspecting young Somalis marrying someone who's not mentally well. It's very sad and is a horrible substitute for medical treatment
  14. I know quite a few people who are so addicted to weed, that they're constantly high all hours of the day. They're always high, and it's taking a serious toll on their intelligence and it's worrying. I know a couple of people who quit gradually. So instead of smoking weed 3 times a day, they cut it down to 2 times a day, and then Once a day, and then once every 2 days, and then once a week. So gradually they cut down on weed until one day they quit completely. But I don't know if the same can be done for alcohol. But I'm guessing it's the same process.
  15. Saalax;947742 wrote: One wonders where all those million of donations since October last year went to if they don't even have the funds to buy bullets. Our government is staffed full of corrupt go-getters who want to use Somalia as a tool to gain personal fortune. Where are the selfless men of our nation? It's disgusting really. The same exact same thing happened under Siad Barre's socialist regime in the 1970's and 80's....
  16. Saalax;947469 wrote: Different title different sources... So why isn't old man Faroole unable to pay his soldiers? Does he want to be holed up in Garowe only. That old crook Faroole was probably too busy paying his sons instead of using the public funds to pay his soldiers. Faroole and his two sons should be deported to Australia and never return. They overstayed their welcome in Somalia
  17. What is with this Oodweyne character claiming that only secular education is necessary for Somalis? He makes it look like Islamists aren't capable of providing excellent education! How dishonest! I have many friends who've attended Islamic school (in the United States) and have had great educations. I myself went to Islamic school for a few years. Oodweyne is making it appear as if Islam stands in the way of learning science and math. That couldn't be further from the truth.
  18. I don't know what's with all the criticism of this lady. She may be wrong, but her heart's in the right place. She should use her passions in working for an NGO or some other charity group. Obviously we should donate our Zakat dollars to provide for the very poorest of Somalis. What the Somali President should focus on, is to use government funds to develop a strong military (purchasing submarines, tanks, airplanes, logistical systems, and training for Somali forces) as well as competent court-systems and law-enforcement. Somalia also needs to invite foreign investment into our country be opening up factories and businesses to employ millions of Somalis and start the long process of turning Somalia into an industrial powerhouse. Those are the TWO MAIN objectives our Government should focus on. If we open up factories in Somalia, millions of Somalis can be employed and they can use their income to buy their own healthcare and schooling. Somalia is much too poor to afford government-run healthcare. We need to be realistic. Building a nation takes time. And Somalis recently have developed a mentality where we expect the government to provide for us. That isn't the government's job. We need to be more independent of that.
  19. God bless this woman, her heart is in the right place

I've heard that as well initially, but I'm having serious doubts because this deceased young man was an exemplary straight-A student with no criminal record, an entrepreneur, and a model for the Somali community. It seems to me that this isn't the real story as he was not the type of kid to conduct a home invasion. Really out of character
  21. Blackflash was there not an incident in December of a young Somali man killed in a home invasion in Mississauga or Brampton? Are there any updates on that case? I vaguely remember hearing about it through some friends, but all of this is tragic nonetheless

We had this respect in the past and we have to regain it but sometimes I doubt if this can be done within the next 10 years. I'm impatient and to me, things are improving too slowly in Somalia. We need to speed it up
  23. Oh, it's definitely Geel Jire. I would say he's the national personification of the Somali. The "Pirate Boy" or "Shabab" or starving woman in the picture is a temporary (and unfortunate) position Somalis are in, and is nothing we should be proud of at all. How can you consciously use negative symbols such as Shabab or Pirate-Boy to symbolize our country?
  24. Mad_Mullah;946093 wrote: EVERY country in the world is aligned to super power. I don't think people here understand politics. Even strong countries like Turkey, Brazil etc. You know very well that is a lie, as there are plenty of nations that are nominally "allied" with superpowers, but have largely independent foreign policies. I would say the USA and Canada and Britain are allies, but to claim a nation such as Malaysia, Morocco, or Chile are "allies" with America, just because they have peaceful relations with them---is nonsense

Naxar Nugaaleed;946049 wrote: meaning of hyperbole is lost on some here, how are Somalis slaves to the west, because they give grain to feed your starving masses or pay for solders that protect from your own terrorist. I'm not denying that Somalia needs external help, but to think that we should strive to stay like this is ridiculous. At some point, the parent has to let go and let the child walk on his own. When Somalia does become a stable nation (inshallah), then we should pursue our own foreign-policy with our own interests in mind. It really isn't that hard to understand
