Choose to ignore what? Excuse me, but I've chosen to accept reality and not submit myself to the whims of legislators and focusing my entire worldly outlook on their beliefs. You are brainwashed, it's simple. Brainwashed to accept the notion that somehow Western Liberalism is inherently superior to Islamic values The hypocrisy of men such as Blackflash, who actually believe that Muslims are brainwashed, but those who submit themselves to another belief system are somehow not-brainwashed? Unlike men such as yourself, we Muslims actually have rational reasons behind our beliefs adn values, and if we Muslims actually practiced Islam the way it should be practiced, our nations would be by far the most advanced civilization on Earth today.

What is up with all these SOL members constantly trashing Islam on this forum ? Do you guys not have a Deen ? Were you brainwashed by your secular professors to view Islam in a certain way and not think for yourselves? Use your reason and stop referring to all these liberal talking points. Fear Allah, reflect on your life and this universe and the fact that you will return to Him. You will reach the obvious conclusion. I don't know what else to say. I cannot tolerate these cheapshots on Islam on SOL
  3. Its the nature of Somalis to gossip on things they know nothing about. I once knew this beautiful Somali girl who got straight A's on all her tests and was an accomplished student. People around her used to assume "There's no way she's that smart, she must be sleeping with the teacher to get such high grades." But if she was a man no one would say a thing. Not once in their minds did they think "Maybe she actually is an intelligent student and deserves her accomplishments" Its disgusting when you think about it.
  4. MoonLight1;960775 wrote: What about this?? People really need to stop speculating about such issues. I've personally met Mahiga a few times, including in Addis Ababa and Nairobi. And I've seen this woman as well. And she is not married to him, or even "cozy" with him. She works under his office, and she sometimes takes Mahigas place in meetings and conferences when he's not around, which is why it is assumed they're together. If I'm not mistaken this lady is from Hargeisa, but she is a Somali Unionist, but I'd have to ask around to find out. If this lady was a man no one would assume a thing.
  5. I think what Reeyo means is that most Somali mothers, grandmothers, and aunts put their sons on a pedestal. They give him an undue amount of respect simply because he's a boy. These young boys, combined with a lack of a father-figure to instill discipline in the boy, and due to the mothers never requiring their sons to do anything, it corrupts the mindset of the boy, who later grows up to become a man. These mothers baby their sons. I've actually seen it happen in front of me. These boys don't do anything. They don't clean the dishes, vacuum....they don't even clean up after themselves! And if you combine this lack of responsibilities with a lack of discipline---it results in this young boy growing up to be a man who is misogynistic. This man feels entitled to be treated a certain way by his future wife, and he begins to view her as simply a tool to get what he wants. The misogynistic men I know are often the ones raised in a poor way by their mothers and not having a father present. Its a fatal combination
  6. warsamaale is a self-hating Somali! I dare you to roam the streets of any North American city on a Friday night, and you will see nothing but hordes of drunk white teenagers acting rowdy and making a fool of themselves. I assumed this problem was restricted to the United States, but I was once riding on the Toronto subway on a Saturday night, and I seen crowds of young white people (some of them drunk) behaving rudely, vandalizing the train, and making total fools of themselves. The same can be said of crowds of African-Americans and even Arabs. You can walk into any McDonalds or Wendy's full of white teenagers, and witness the amount of noise, havoc and the huge mess they create after they leave. But when Somalis do it, it's something of a problem. Wallahi, the behavior I typically see of young Somalis is nowhere near as troublesome as some of the behavior I witness from White and Black-Americans. It's a disgrace. We Somalis actually aren't that bad. I know we're not perfect, but if a Somali person even sneezes the wrong time, you'll find Ajnabis ranting on how much they hate Somalis. One of my white coworkers actually approached me, complaining about the large amount of Somali taxi drivers in the city. Even though he admitted these taxi drivers were professional, and they were causing no problems, he still wanted to complain because he regularly seen Somali taxi drivers. For no real reason at all, he decided to hate on them. I couldn't contain my anger and I broke his nose, and I would do it again if the situation replayed itself. They are actually racist, for no other reason than them being racist. This is even obvious to any Somali following the Rob Ford scandal, we aren't seen as citizens of these countries. This is undeniable
  7. We Somalis need to build Somalia and then get the hell out of Western Europe and Canada within the next few years. It ain't looking pretty for most Somalis living there and I feel like there's gonna be widespread backlash against Somalis within a few years. I've visited Toronto, Edmonton, Ottawa as well as a few Western European cities and I was shocked at the level of animosity that exists towards Somalis in general by the locals. Even in Toronto, there is a strong undercurrent of racism against Somalis. What makes this even worse is that Somalis have a unique, recognizable appearance. You KNOW that person is a Somali because no one quite looks like us. Everything seems to be all-good in the United States though, the Somalis here seem to have less to worry about
  8. I don't even understand what you said. I literally just gave you links which point to hadiths which state clearly that the warriors were to be executed. If you're going to give half-witted responses to things you don't understand, than how do you expect me to give you a regular response. You're embarrassing yourself warya The challenge still stands. Where did the Noble Prophet ever kill an innocent civilian. Either meet my challenge or back down. I'm not gonna tolerate your abuses of Islam on this forum.
  9. Boondhere, you deceptively answer my Challenge with the story of the Banu Quraiza Jews who were executed by the Muslim forces. I specifically asked for an incident where the Prophet ordered the execution of innocent civilians. The Quraiza Jews were far from innocent. They broke their treaty with the Muslims and attempted to destroy Medina during the Battle of the Trench, when they allied themselves with the Pagans of Mecca. And they very nearly succeeded in wiping out the Muslims in Medina, if it wasn't for the wit of Nuaim ibn Masud, who deceived the Pagans and the Quraiza Jews and prevented them from going forward in their plan. Obviously, the Prophet will execute those Jews who openly waged war with him and allied with the enemy. It is even said: The siege continued for twenty-five days, during which the Muslims allowed the Jews who had refused to betray the Prophet (peace be upon him) during the Battle of the Ditch to leave and go wherever they wished as a reward for their faithfulness. (Muhammad Al Ghazali, Fiqh-Us-Seerah: Understanding the Life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), International Islamic Publishing House, p346) So obviously the Prophet only executed those who openly betrayed him, and this article goes into the issue in greater detail: http://call-to-monotheism.com/the_execution_of_the_jews_at_bani_quraydah http://www.bismikaallahuma.org/archives/2005/the-expulsion-of-banu-al-qurayzah/ Boondhere, you are extremely dishonest and you point to incidents in the Prophets life, and then take it out of context and claim that Islam is at fault. You really are a character
  10. There was no "murders" that the Noble Prophet committed. Moderators, please watch out for this Boondhere character because he is disparaging the Prophet with no evidences and no basis. Did the Prophet kill some of his enemies? Of course, but the context was within a time of war. Muhammad (pbuh) wasn't just a Religious Leader but he also was a Military and Political Leader....and sometimes you have to fight. This Boondhere clown expects our Noble Prophet to be some pacifist who allows the Pagans and Jews to commit massacres against the Muslim population and prevent them from practicing Islam. I dare you, I dare you to show me ONE incident where the Noble Prophet ordered the killing of anyone who was an innocent civilian. The challenge stands you deceptive clown.
  11. Not every Somali is well-versed in Islam, and their poverty restricts their access to education so they don't know any better. You would hardly find any intelligent, self-sufficient, adult individual voluntarily choosing to accept the Christian Religion. It just doesn't happen. If such vulnerable people have doubts about Islam, then we should appoint an Islamic Scholar to teach him and show him the way. But to allow a Missionary (who has ulterior motives) to preach to an ignorant Somali is disgusting, and should never be allowed. I'm all for debates, and Muslims are known to frequently debate with Christians.
  12. Tallaabo;955403 wrote: I believe Islam is about choice be it religion, marriage, or lifestyle. It is not a totalitarian political system which must be imposed on society. The Quran is the primary source of Islamic theology and wisdom and in that Holy book Almighty God said that there is no compulsion in region. Anything other than complete freedom for people to choose what they believe in and practice is un-Islamic to me. Islam does not restrict Christians and Jews and others from practicing their religion, as the Quran clearly states there is no compulsion in religion. But you have to understand how we Muslims view kufr, and how serious the implications are. This isn't like choosing a political party, or choosing which charity to donate towards. This is a difference between Islam, and kufr and not enough people on SOL realize this. Besides, Missionaries have been known to refrain debating their religion (for obvious reasons) and they tend to target young, vulnerable children who live in poor countries and don't know any better. I would never ever allow a Missionary to target a miskeen 5 year old Somali girl and tell her that "Jesus" is the source of her sustenance. If the Christians want to debate....that's fine. But there should be no tolerance for Missionary activity in Somalia.

MoonLight1;955262 wrote: wallaahi you are the sick man of SOL, why didn't you comment on the Hargeysa rapes while you shed crocodile tears for the girls of Muqdisho, you guys are very ill men who's daily googling is to find southern problems, posting them and making fake du'a for them. Nice job Moonlight, you turned a tragic issue of women being raped into something political. How do you even sleep at night, saying such things? Rape is rape. Whether the victim is a Somali from Mogadishu or a white American doesn't make any difference.
  14. If just 10% of the Somali-Westerners were like her, then our country would see some great progress. This lady has more integrity than half of the clowns you see at Villa Somalia.

The prophet csw said "if you doesn't have haya, then do as you wish" and that's exactly what we are witnessing nowadays, people doing all kind of crazy things. +1 Aaliyah. I see nowadays people applauding such disgusting behaviour. I remember when Bill Clinton was caught cheating on his wife, the Press as well as the Late Night TalkShows were laughing about it and some even applauded Bill Clinton's behavior , whivh is disgraceful when you think about it. Their philosophy is, "If it feels good, then do it"....with no shame and no standards.
  16. I totally disagree with you as history has shown that a large State apparatus has always resulted in corruption and reduced living standards. But yes....that is a fight and argument Somalis should be having in 10-20 years or so, Insha Allah. Focus on the basics first
  17. Oodweyne;954154 wrote: Both of these school of political economy do not apply to a poverty-stricken Somali peninsula. But down the line if proper state emerge then that state will be better off in cleaving closely to the a modified version of Keynesian school of thought since this school at least acknowledge a place or a role for a state and its government for the economical management of society. But still Somali peninsula of the present day really requires to make its various states strong enough for the long haul and leave the debate of this kind for the future leaders who will be at the helm with a solid government and it's institutions. And on this point I think the absence of states in the last two decades or so may have already tip the scale into a libertarian view of society and that in turn may also have skewered any future state to be on the Monetarism school since pure market capitalism is what we have come to practice in the Somali peninsula since at least 1991. All in all I would prefer for Somalis to view a larger role for the state in the affairs of managing their nomadic capitalism (since at least strong state will look after the week of the nation) but I fear the kind of Somali capitalism we will see going forward will be merciless capitalism that would even make Milton Freidman pause in wonder in what Somalis are incline to go for it. Oodweyne, in order for a State to look after the weak and downtrodden, the State itself would have to be strong and prosperous. And the only way for the State to be prosperous would be too let Private Companies produce and create jobs, which would result in prosperity for all Somalis. So I agree that the current generation of Somali Politicians should focus on stabilizing the country and setting up the State..... And then let future politicians debate economics and other issues. The State should play a minimal role in organizing the economy. Let the Somali Entrepreneurs take care of the rest

  19. Keynesianism and Monetarism are such discredited ideologies today, its time people wake up and realize how much damage these economic ideologies have caused in the last century. I agree with a lot of what Milton Friedman had to say, but I completely disagree with him on some of his monaterist viewpoints. The government should get out of the way when it comes to economic planning, and should allow the Private Sector to do what it does best; Maximize Production and hire people. Capitalism at its finest
  20. Islam began as something strange, and it will return as something strange. This is what the Noble Prophet prophesied 1400 years ago, and it couldn't be more accurate. When Israeli soldiers commit crimes in Palestine, no one attributes this to Judaism....even though the Torah is full of passages which encourage violence and oppression. The same could be said for the Christian British Empire, the Nazis (who were predominantly Christian, and who their leader himself claimed he was doing the work of God) as well as the Christian Inquisition. "Islam" can't cause trouble, a few misguided Muslims do. But either way, I don't really have much of an inclination to discuss this. You obviously aren't interested in finding out the truth, neither are you objective. You sound like Glenn Beck here. I'm an Islamist, I'm very proud of it, and I'm certain the Muslim Ummah will be a World-Power again, with a high standard of living and achievement for all its citizens. We just had the misfortune of living during a time when Muslims are weak. It can only get better, insha Allah
  21. And 1 more point, China is one of the greatest civilizations in human history. Their ancient civilizations were unsurpassed and they had some of the greatest rulers, scientists, and intellectuals in the world. But for a brief period of time (1900's-1990's), China was a poor, "backward", uncivilized nation. Today, that's quickly changing and China is growing extremely fast and should be the world's largest economy within a few years. They had their ups, and they had their downs. Now imagine a Chinese man living in the 1940's....claiming that Chinese people are all backward and that China has no history to be proud of, etc. Imagine how ridiculous he would sound saying that. The same can be said for the Muslim Ummah. We had our ups, and we had our downs. Right now, we're at a low point in our history. We are powerless and poor today. But this will certainly change. I don't know how xabad is incapable of seeing this
  22. Sharmarke, I suggest you don't waste your time with this B.S. We already know where this man's thoughts lie. I could show him 20 hours of film documentary heralding the great Islamic civilizations of the past, but in his mind he would still believe that Muslims haven't made any contributions to human civilization. If he were interested in finding out the truth, I could understand that. But he's speaking purely out of hate, he's outright denying the achievements of past Muslim civilizations, and his words are no different than people such as Robert Spencer and Sam Harris. There is no use in being defensive to xabad. Millions of Muslims are being suppressed, invaded and exploited but he has the nerve to over-look these and claim we are the problem. The nerve of him
  23. xabad;951383 wrote: War, I'm repeating to you again as a black man you can't claim Arab achievements in the past, you should be ashamed. i don't believe they had any civilization anyway, they had harems and eunuchs and lots of slaves, the few scientific breakthroughs were by rationalists mostly non Arabs who hid their beliefs, the rest was translations of Greek works. Ha igu mashqulin kulaha, what a typical teenage girl talk. Okay, let me break it down to you cause you seem to be totally incapable of understanding anything: 1. You made the claim that Muslim societies are backward, fatalistic, and generally incapable of making a positive contribution to the world. You also implied that Muslims can't even form an advanced civilization. 2. I reference the Ottoman Civilization (Turkish) as well as the Abbasid Civilization (Arab) as well as the Cordoba Civilization (Spain), who were ALL Muslim, and who were ALL advanced civilizations. The first 1000 years of Islam had seen the rise of our greatest scientific scholars, universities, and research centres. RIGHT NOW, the Islamic world is very poor and powerless, but this is the exception, not the rule. For most of Islamic history, we were doing very well for ourselves. 3. You respond saying "You are a Somali man, you have no right to claim the achievements of the Arabs and Turks. But that is totally irrelevant, as you made the claim that MUSLIMS can't form a great civilization, and this has NOTHING with me being Somali. If you can't understand how dumb you sound, then what is the use of discussing this with you. And as for us being "backward", why don't you come and visit my city, where half of the African-American women are carrying children and they don't know who the father is. Why don't you come to some of the American cities, where kids actually shoot strangers just to get a reputation. You wanna talk about "backwards". We Muslims are poor, but we will never be backwards. Don't ever assume that being technologically advanced automatically makes you more "civilized".
  24. You're missing the entire point, if you had any intelligence, I'm just countering your claim that Muslims are incapable of creating a civilization, so I gave you examples in the past to prove you wrong. I have given you specific examples where Muslims have set up civilizations more advanced than any at the time. Whether I'm an African Muslim or an Indonesian Muslim is irrelevant to this discussion. The fact that this went over your head is shocking to me. Warya, ha igu mashqulin
