1. The Kenyans DEFINITELY armed and financially supported different warlords in Somalia back in the 1990's and 2000's, and so did the Ethiopians. They had a direct hand in prolonging the civil war and numerous reports say the exact same thing. And several warlords and Kacaan-era Generals who have blood on their hands live IN Kenya, without being arrested. The Kenyans (and Ethiopians) prolonged the civil war, armed different warlords, and now that the civil war is spilling into Kenya, now the Kenyans are having to deal with the consequences (including having a floundering economy). And since Kenya's economy relies on tourism, then having no tourists is REALLY going to hurt them in the long run. You get what you deserve. These short-sighted Kikuyu never thought to themselves that having a next-door neighbor (Somalia) in chaos and civil-war might be bad for them in the long-run. The Americans would never allow Canada to be in chaos. Because they know that if Canada continues to be in chaos, it'll affect America negatively. Yet these short-sighted Kenyans don't think like that. Their IQ isn't too high
2. This looks like it'll give the International Community an even bigger incentive to stabilize Somalia at all costs. This war is spilling into Kenya and other countries already. And this is what the Kenyans get for completely ignoring Somalia in the late 1990's and letting the civil war continue by arming different warlords. You reap what you sow
3. The last 23 years in Somalia were a fitna for Somalis, and until we get rid of our petty ways and small-mindedness, it'll continue. This goes for all Africans BTW
4. InshaAllah the Hawd region is returned to Somaliland. The Brits were indeed very treacherous and deserve no praise for their actions
5. What a terrible tragedy. AUN More should be done when it comes to workplace safety in Turkey.
6. @Tallaabo said: True nationalists are in short supply within the Somali community. A true nationalist would work for the success and progress of his/her people regardless of the political methods to achieve such an outcome. Well said. Very well said. Politics is meaningless when the well-being of our people is at stake.
7. @Hawdian said: ^ well Now they are bankrupt hopefully we wont hear any more of the bragging these do so well hahaha sool sanaag, we are darwish kkkkk these people are truly muppets. Why would you rejoice or even celebrate over the bankruptcy of fellow Somalis? What's wrong with you? If Puntland had a famine with 30 000 dead children would you celebrate that as well? You're sick
8. This is Malcolm X joking about House Negro's and Field Negro's. Seems like this speech is very relevant to this discussion LOL. Never gets old wallahi P.S. Stop deferring to the British. Be a man and stand on your own 2 feet.
9. I'm waiting for the day when the streets of London and Manchester are filled up with White British people celebrating and welcoming the arrival of the Madaxweyne of Somaliland Or is it only okay when it's the other way around? Why do you put them on a pedestal? Like I'll never understand saaxib. You're better than that.
10. Hopefully these developments motivate Culusow to clean up his own act and actually do the job he was selected to do. He's feeling the heat, and now he knows that his influential backers won't be able to assist him if things go down the drain. But yes you're right. The other people jockeying for political power are no better than Culusow. So let this man finish out his term and inshaAllah Somalia is given another President in 2016 who actually knows what he's doing. It's very unfortunate 4 years would be wasted on this character but it is what it is. Hopefully the Somali people start setting higher standards for their leaders.
11. HAG Elitism must end in Somalia's Capital. Qoslaaye and his ilk have got to go and be replaced with others who are far more competent than they are and who can support the creation of Federal States. The last thing I'd want to see in Somalia is a Central Government in Mogadishu dictating to others what they can or can't do. It's against our culture and there ain't no way I'm gonna take ridiculous orders from a Government Bureaucrat who lives in a far-off capital city. It's a recipe for disaster and economic mismanagement. Elitism leads to favoritism, which leads to Cronyism. Before you know it, Somalia could AGAIN become a country where the only way you can achieve something is to have political connections or to have an Uncle in an important position. It could become a total HAG domination of politics/business. That's cronyism, and the Italians/Greeks are especially infamous for that type of behavior. And it's one of my greatest fears for Somalia.
12. Do you think the Ethiopian Government is trying to absorb Somalis and make them just one of the many ethnic groups residing in Ethiopia? The same way how Ethiopia has an Oromo division, an Amhara division and a Tigray division, that perhaps they might try to influence and absorb the Somalis not just in the Kilil area, but even the Somalis in Somalia? This might be a long-term strategy where they could even attempt in a century to annex Somalia and Djibouti and absorb them into the large Ethiopian State? I know I sound paranoid here loool. But this is some of the fears I've heard from several Somalis over the years.
13. @Xaaji Xunjuf said: I can build a union that will last longer than any union in the world but no one is interested the problem is Koonfurians dont know what Union is ,Union for them is 4.5 clan system 2 clans sharing the top seats and than call it we are united and sing Somalia tooso. What u need is a union with strong foundations based on strong principles. With in 10 years u would have a stronger Union than any union in the world but its based on values shared interest commonalities, strategic political and economic interest and Militaristic interest not on emotions. I dont value presidents prime ministers iyo waxaas.Only Koonfurians value that, a Union is based on how the wealth of the nation can be shared equally distributed equally and that every one contributes i would have created the Union of Somali republics . That would mean 3 countries in the Horn exclusively belongs to Somalis. But Somalis are not interested in such a union there is action and re action, So we will play the zero sum game for quiet some time. Till we are exhausted and some one gives in, its sad, other than that garaantu ha botarisu. Which is why I'm not against nor am I interested in helping to stop Somaliland's recognition goals. The people are clearly adamant on seceding. They would stop at nothing other than secession and the only debate right now should be what should the borders of this future Somaliland State be? But that's another topic. Somalis valuing Presidents and Prime Ministers rather than valuing the Rule of Law is a cultural problem which will take YEARS to undo. And Somalilanders themselves are guilty of this as well. They'd much rather vote for a man who comes from their sub-clan rather than voting for the Best Candidate. Even Black Americans are guilty of this when 98% of them voted for Barack Obama simply based on the color of his skin, even though Obama's policies were an utter disaster and he's provided NO benefit to the Black Community in America. And these people live in the richest country in the world and they still think like that. This is a huge cultural problem which will take years to undo. And a Union of Republics is a much more attractive idea than having a Centralist Government based in Mogadishu where everyone is forced to face towards Mogadishu and power is centralized in the hands of a specific sub-clan. If you sell this idea I'm sure a lot more Somalis would buy into it. It's a very attractive idea
14. I know this is totally off-topic, but just look at the President of Djibouti! The man looks absolutely sloppy! Seriously, he's the Head of State! Lose some weight, trim your facial hair to look clean, buy a well-tailored suit which fits you and improve your posture! Being well-dressed is something VERY important and Gelle is representing Djibouti whenever he's in some foreign country. He's gotta look better than this. This guy does NOT care about his physical appearance whatsoever.
15. Yeah exactly. The Somali Government should not negotiate in a position of weakness. Perhaps if Somaliland gains recognition and they go through the inevitable rapid development which will happen as a result.....it could motivate other Somalis to clean up their own house and compete with the Landers. It might shame them to change their behavior and change their failed policies. And it might give Somali diaspora businessmen a place to invest if the South is never pacified. There's a lot of opportunity there and I know a lot of American and European Somalis who would MUCH rather live in Somaliland than Dubai or Qatar. Even if they're not technically Somalilanders
16. I get it Xaaji. You wouldn't even unite with Somalia even if it was rich like Hong Kong or Singapore. I don't oppose your recognition based on this knowledge. If that's how you feel then who am I to tell you what to think and feel? If you're happy I'm happy. But don't succumb to the disgusting diatribes of CidanSultan
17. If you think the secessionists on this forum would accept such a thing you are mistaken my friend. They'd accept nothing other than: 1. Achieving recognition 2. Receiving a loving pat on the back by their British Masters telling them "You're different than the rest of those Somalis" The 2nd part is especially crucial saaxib. It's even more important to them than achieving recognition. They NEED this British flattery
18. Cidan, stop taking the actions of one man and making it seem as if the entire Tribe endorses those actions. The Ethiopian Invasion of 2007 pissed off a lot of Somalis, so you sound stupid here. Don't act like you wouldn't be more than happy to allow the Brits or Americans to set up a base in Berbera. We both know you'd be more than glad to. And why are you so eager to share a country with a tribe you look down upon? Why not practice what you preach, and secede while taking Awdal, Waqooyi and Toghdeer, and let the D-Block have the rest? Or are you hypocritical and want the whole piece to yourself? You want to share a land with a group of people you clearly dislike, in fact you dislike them more than you even the HAG group in the South. On one hand you call the Lascaanood lot your "countrymen", but on the other hand you show what you really think of us in the post you just made. Cajiib
19. And I'm sure you get excited and you giggle like a little schoolgirl whenever your Masters the British praise Somaliland. You're lost saaxib. You're truly lost.
20. @Xaaji Xunjuf said: The SFG has became bad just because the pirates were excluded and alienated i am loving it, the Pirates are feeling the heat of the Damuljadid Clique Farah topaz hassan sheikh abdikarim gulet are doing a fantastic job. if the Pirates are so frustrated with the Somali government they must be doing a wonderful job. Funny how you extol the virtues of a future free of Qabiilism and hatred yet you routinely label an entire region of Somalia "pirates". Did you ever think that maybe....just maybe....that this isn't an appropriate way of addressing people? You know, I'm just wondering Xaaji!!
21. @SomaliaRising said: Dadoore iam staunch Islamist Centralist. Taas Shaki kuma jiro brother. The reason i made this thread is to tell the tfg sol'ers to wake up. There is no government in Somalia. Well, some of the Politicians in the South have a Mafia-like controlling mentality, where all the cards are in their hands and they seek to dominate the rest of Somalia through the Central Government. You'd have to admit that many of these politicians are nothing more than Mooryans wearing suits and who would like nothing more than to put their boot on someone else's neck, using the power of the Central Government in Mogadishu. It's a corrupt mentality which might take decades to undo. Decades brother.
22. @SomaliaRising said: The fake govt tfg lead by Qoslaaye is no different than the ones lead by Abdullahi Yusuf and Sh.Sharif. The internal strife , the reliance on Bantu Muscles and corruptions reveals that Somalia is doomed with bad luck, bad governance and worshippers of clannism. And in the midst of all this, I'm surprised you'd be a supporter of Centralism. Wouldn't you agree that Abdullahi Yusuf was supremely successful in establishing Puntland State? If Centralism is being proven to be a failure, why not give Federalism a try?
23. @Alpha Blondy said: oi jewish boy, what do you think of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) supporting the war criminal Ali Samatar, the former Defense Minister of the Somali Republic before it became the world's first officially failed state, despite his merciless campaigns of terror against ethnic Somalilander during the 1980s/1990s? Warya, I've said before don't ever address me you 3rd class citizen. You're not funny, and you've past the point of being an effective troll.
24. Hopefully in the future Somaliland starts producing world-class soccer players who can compete on the world stage InshaAllah this happens! There's a lot of potential here for sure.
