1. @Xaaji Xunjuf said: The clan kinship between eastern sool and the nugaal region is a fabricated clan lineage well according to Ali khalif Galaydh, General Siad bare than tried to create a NUGAAL REGION when the sool region was Nugaal in reality. The reason why the Garaad clan did not fit in the Maguratania sultanate or Puntland is the evidence. Why the 2 are so different. The reason why the vast majority sides with Somaliland and the last remaining group , created their own group called Khatumo. Historically the garaad clan had their own tribal Sultnatate never under the Puntland clan of groups. And when the Mad mullah came they became his allies well atleast some of them. where as the Bari and Nugaal clans of Puntland never did. That's not what I was saying saaxib. I'm saying, how does someone from the I-Block or G-Block clan share anything with a Dhulbahante that an MJ doesn't share? What goes for one, must go for the other. Since we're both Somali ethnically, culturally, and linguistically the same. In other words, how is a Reer Borama Somali closer to a Reer Lascaanod Somali when compared to an MJ Somali?? You haven't answered that question. If you want to create a northern Somali State, why not include the MJ's and the Bigfoot Somalis as well? What's with the exclusion?
2. Axmed, well... Austria is actually German, they speak German. The people ARE German, but they have their own separate country. They don't deny their German heritage, but they do possess their own nation. I think Xaaji Xunjuf wants to do the same for Somaliland/Somalia. Two separate countries, but who share the same ethnicity/language and who are allies with one another.
3. @Xaaji Xunjuf said: Doctor there is no shard history that was neither here nor there we created a shared Myth in the 1940s our fathers did the generations of the 1940s did that. Historically Somaliland never shared an administration with the koonfurians prior in 1960. Somaliland the ethno nationalists from Somaliland created these myths that the Somalis are the same people but culturally historically and socially and traditionally we differ. But today that myth has been exposed and thrown into the Bin Thanks to the generations of the 1970s and the 1980s. There's plenty of shared history between us, as well as shared ethnicity too. I don't know what you're talking about. Plus, how can you demand to share a country with the Dhulbahante and Warsangeli but not extend this invitation to the MJ's of Bari and Nugaal? What's with this arbitrary line you chose to draw at the Taleex border? Does this make any sense saaxib? How is an MJ any different from me?
4. Loool this is hilarious :D Next thing you know, he'll hire some bodyguards to start doing the job of applauding him.
5. My own mother is a Xawadle from Hiiraan and you can't tell me she isn't the same ethnic group as my father Like come on dude. We are Somalis. Oromos are Oromos. Amharas are Amharas. We all come under the same umbrella.
6. @Xaaji Xunjuf said: Siilaanyo is doing a good Job the less connection with somalia the better the song in the begining of radio hargeysa was composed by xaaji bispaas. Same as the two national anthems the introduction of hasha maandeeq. The koonfurians had little contribution to the state formation of the former somali republic. Though sl songs reached all corners of the somAli speaking people. We have reversed and changed everything the flags the coat of arms our national anthems there is nothing that connets somaliland to somalia other than a shared langage. All symbols have been changed What are you talking about? You do realize that we are the same ethnic group right ...I mean, isn't this most important? And we also have a shared history. In fact, many of the Medieval Ancestors to the HAG clan and others are ALL BURIED IN SOMALILAND. We Somalis come from the North and we moved South over the centuries. But the Waqooyi is where we are originally from, and we share the same ethnicity still. There is a miniscule amount of ajnaabi blood in Somalis, and very few of us are mixed with Italians or Kenyans or Barawaanis. Alhamdulilah. We are still Somali.
7. @SomaliaPatriot said: Doc, who do you think this time will win? Culusoow will scream like a jealous woman if Caloolweyne doesnt pick the men culusoow wants. Lets get ready to rumble! Caloolweyne doesn't seem to be the sharpest politician out there. But then again, Culusow used all of his political capital to oust Yuulka. This'll be interesting for sure
8. Xaaji, it's funny how Somaliland still doesn't fully control it's entire territorial land. If you're a de facto State, as you like to claim on this forum repeatedly....doesn't this warrant that this "State" control virtually all of it's territory? Would you EVER see Kenyan troops on Ugandan soil? Or Chinese troops on Vietnamese soil? Or Brazilian troops on Argentine soil? It's pretty confusing saaxib.
9. Ahmed, even though a lot of corruption exists in Hargeisa, the corruption in Xamar is unlike anything I've ever seen. There's a culture of corruption in Mogadishu...where the actions of men like Sheikh Shariif or Hassan Sheikh or Shariif Hassan Sheikh Aden (former Speaker of Parliament) are tolerated and even often celebrated. (Notice how their names all contain the word Sheikh ) And in this environment, we can't honestly expect the people of Somaliland to participate in such a corrupt and destructive system. Believe me, I don't like Ahmed Samatar much either, but wallahi the actions of Culusow just strengthen the recognition chants and weakens the case for a united Somalia. Before we even talk about a united Somalia (and I strongly want a United Somali Republic)...we should fix the South first and THEN move forward from there.
10. Another Prime Minister. Another political infight. This just doesn't stop ....I know Omar Caloolweyne isn't the sharpest politician, but all this does is expose Culusow for being an unbelievably petty and divisive President. There's no way this clown can return in 2016. No way at all.
11. Mooge, wouldn't this just result in corrupt School Administrators being paid by Government Officials to falsify school records of failing students? They can pick the biggest dhoqoon student who can barely read or write, and give him an A+ average. And then send that kid to Turkey. Somalis are corrupt saaxib, we'll do anything to work around it.
12. If anything, Hassan Sheikh is far worse than Sheikh Shariif EVER was. This Culusow guy has the backing of the International Community, worldwide recognition, yet he STILL is unable to do what he can to benefit his country and his people. He's too much of a dhoqoon to see the enormous opportunity he has in front of him. The opportunity to bring Somalis together, defeat Al Shabaab, and put himself in the history books. I sometimes think Somalis are cursed, our leaders are the worst of us.
13. @samiig said: DK its trying sidetrack us with this diversity BS, away from the real issue people are demonstrating against in france and germany-- ISLAMISM. the same ideology that spwaned isis, al shabaab, taliban, boko, al qaeda, islamic brotherhood et al and which he defends on this site at every turn. nobody is demonstrating against hindus, chinese or even blacks, what native populations in the west unanimously object to is muslim immigraton. Ethnic enclaves are not a problem, subversion of the state from within is. this is what a captured internal MB memo detailed; The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions. Without this level of understanding, we are not up to this challenge and have not prepared ourselves for Jihad yet. It is a Muslim's destiny to perform Jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes, and there is no escape from that destiny except for those who chose to slack. But, would the slackers and the Mujahedeen be equal. You have no idea what I'm talking about. And you're diverting from the real topic at hand here. Europeans increasingly are in favor of re-establishing mono-ethnic states like they once had in the past. And I've given examples in countries around the world where diversity was disastrous for the people in that country. “Can you cite one speck of hard evidence of the benefits of "diversity" that we have heard gushed about for years? Evidence of its harm can be seen — written in blood — from Iraq to India, from Serbia to Sudan, from Fiji to the Philippines. It is scary how easily so many people can be brainwashed by sheer repetition of a word.” ― Thomas Sowell
14. @Nin-Yaaban said: Hmmm, do you ever see yourself going back home sxb? Just curious. In the long run, yes. InshaAllah. But we also have to understand that the USA is a unique situation (along with Canada and Australia)....since those countries were founded by immigrants. And because of that, I am just as much a citizen of this country as any White or African-American person.
15. @Nin-Yaaban said: I just think people need to learn to tolerate and get along with each other. It's not so much about diversity or multiculturalism, because as you have said, how do you explain Somalia and the half other dozen other countries where 1 group is 90% of the population and there is still war and strive going on. And for what's going on in Europe in its anti Immigration, it's kinda weird cuz it was Europeans who opened up the world and made contact with others, and they were 'spose to be the enlightened ones. It's really confusing. That's far easier said than done. Even in a country like Canada, you have different ethnic groups forming their own ethnic enclaves. The Greeks live amongst Greeks. The Jews live amongst Jews. The Jamaicans live amongst each other and so do the Somalis. Even the Chinese have their own sections of town and their own economic base. People can talk about diversity and "getting along"....but even when you look at places like the USA and Canada, you have different ethnic groups separating themselves from each other. Just ask your typical Somali in North America. He will tell you that at least 70% of all his friends/associates are OTHER Somalis. When I visited Toronto, many of the guys/girls spoke to me that at least 80% of their associates are other Somalis, and that they feel more comfortable around other Somalis than they do with Ajnaabis. You see that in school, in workplaces, etc. This isn't a particularly bad thing. It's a reality that we need to accept. And it's painfully ironic, because outside of Somalia you see Somalis largely getting along (even amongst different Qabiils) but yet within Somalia you'll see different Qabiils trying to dominate/suppress one another. Western Europe is probably going through severe regret that they opened their doors to massive immigration, often displaying the indigenous European people. It's been projected that in a few decades, Sweden will be majority non-white. The same will happen in England, and in other countries in Europe. Already if you visit cities like London, Manchester, Birmingham....you will see entire neighborhoods of different ethnic groups and very little indigenous English. And this is only gonna become more severe as time goes on and this is already placing a huge toll on England. All this does is show that diversity cannot work.
16. @Nin-Yaaban said: And for Somalia remaining 90%+ Somalis, maybe that's where our problem is. If we are left to our own device, we would turn on each other. Maybe if we had 10 -15% Ajanabis amongst us, the situation wouldn't be as bad. That's just my 2 Taano. I would love to see Somalia maintain it's ethnic homogeneity, where 90% of the people are Somalis inshaAllah. The remaining few would be the Barawaanis, the Reer Xamars, and the Mushunguli (Zanzabari) people etc. Somalia should also maintain it's 100% Sunni Muslim population, as we've seen how sectarian conflict has ripped apart countries like Iraq, Syria and even Yemen. Somalia shouldn't risk such ethnic/religious strife. We already have enough problems getting along as it is, with our different Qabiils all trying to dominate one another. The least we can do at this time is to not make the problem any worse than it already is. Believe me, Somalia will overcome this temporary civil war, and our similarities are FAR more numerous than our tiny differences. We are ONE people, and not many countries are lucky enough to have a population that's so alike in so many ways. We need to maintain this saaxib. I don't want to see the non-Somali population exceed 10%.
17. This is something I had to get off my chest for a while now. But as I've read past accounts on global history, and as I read current news reports of what's going on the world....I've been thoroughly convinced that diversity does not work. No matter what country you enter, whether it's Yugoslavia, or India, or Sudan, or the Philippines, or Nigeria....you will see different ethnic groups at each other's throats, trying to kill or suppress each other. Even in Iraq and Syria, you have Sunni Arabs killing Shia Arabs and vice-versa. And even when there isn't violence, it takes the Government of that specific country all it's effort to prevent violence and unrest from breaking out. Western Europe is going through severe turmoil where the immigrants are increasingly in conflict with the indigenous Europeans. Already, there are massive demonstrations in France, Germany, and other countries by native Germans and native Frenchmen opposing immigration to their land. Countries that are relatively homogeneous, such as Japan and Taiwan and South Korea and Poland....have a very high degree of social and economic stability. These nations don't have to worry about suppressing ethnic/religious anger, and the countries even have a relatively low crime rate. Economic growth is much easier when the population is homogeneous, as politicians would get elected based on policies instead of being elected just based off their identity. In Somalia, people vote for politicians based ONLY on their clan affiliation. The same thing happens in Nigeria, where the Igbo and the Hausa and the Yoruba people vote for politicians not on their credentials/policies, but based only on their ethnic background. This gives politicians an incentive to exploit ethnic divisions for the purposes of getting elected, and it can even destabilize the nation. Here in America, 95% of Blacks voted for Barack Obama JUST BECAUSE HE WAS BLACK. Hardly any of them were familiar with his economic policies, or energy policy or foreign policy. They voted for this man just because he was Black.....and this type of thing occurs in many countries where the population is extremely diverse. And I feel like out of all the countries in Africa, Somalia is one of the more homogeneous ones. At least 90% of the people in Somalia are ethnically Somali, while the remaining are Reer Xamar, Barawaanis, and other groups. We are all Sunni Muslim alhamdulilah. But even with our similarities, we find it extremely difficult to get along. Extremely difficult to get on the same page despite our commonalities. A White European could hardly tell the difference between a D-Block Somali and an H-Block Somali. But to us, those differences are like night and day. I really think that we Somalis should do whatever we can to preserve our ethnic/cultural/religious homogeneity. We are not completely homogeneous, but we are close enough. And it seems pretty clear that the more we stir the pot of "cultural diversity"....the more it will inflame ethnic tensions in the future. And our Somali descendants 100 years from now will curse us for what we've done. Diversity does not work
18. This is a GREAT response by a Non-Muslim radio host. You definitely have to see this. Anyone who tries to make Muslims apologize for this incident in France should realize this:
19. @Xaaji Xunjuf said: This is nonsense Puntland has been claiming it has defeated the galgalla cells since the day of Faroole and is still struggling we will see tomorrow another fight in Galgala. Well as long as Puntland can stop the flow of finances and weapons to Al-Shabaab from Hargeisa, I'm sure all will be well
20. I really really hope Somalia enlists the help of more USA Special Forces to destroy Al-Shabab and clean them out of the country. These hit-and-run attacks by Al-Shabab are the mark of a dying enemy, and someone needs to finish this group off for good. Cooperation with clan elders will get 50% of the work done. The other 50% can be completed by aggressively pursuing remaining Al-Shabab elements and not giving them a chance to regroup
21. @LayZie G. said: Safferz, lol, good one. Hahahaha@@@the Robin Hood line, that's classic. The video of the gardheer will not take the focus of Kenney's Islamist leaning self. Yarta, be honest with yourself. Come out of the closet. Cheers, LayZie G. I don't think it's exactly a secret that I'm "Islamist leaning"....read my posts and you'll see it for yourself. The opinion of Yasir Qadhi and Nouman Ali Khan are the opinions which I hold. And I do not appreciate opportunistic Kaffirs to take this incident in Paris and use it as a sledgehammer against us. And I sure as hell don't appreciate seeing Muslims apologize for this attack in Paris, as if we were in any way involved in this crime. It goes both ways saaxib. You don't see me demanding that some random Buddhist guys apologize for the atrocities being committed against Muslims by Burmese Buddhist Monks right? I mean right now, Muslims are being killed/oppressed in Burma but you'll NEVER see me blame the Buddhists for this. This isn't their fault. Similarly, a Muslim who lives in Somalia or the United States shouldn't have to be harassed or shamed because some murderous thugs in France killed an entire newspaper staff. Both actions are undoubtedly wrong.
22. @SomaliaPatriot said: Loll sxb wallahi u are right about groups like boko and alshabab They overdo stuffs that shocks isis and alqeada 10 years ago, the actions of Al-Qaeda would've appalled any of us. But now in 2015, we've been so desensitized by the actions of Boko Haram that Al Qaeda actually seems miskeen wallahi. It's odd how the entire global media focuses on the threat of ISIS, when Boko Haram has been proven to be far more brutal and ruthless than ISIS could ever even hope to be. If you give a bunch of low-IQ savages some guns and machetes, and then tell them they're fighting for the cause of Islam, and then you'll see them destroy entire towns and villages. You'll see them set fire to orphanages and see them destroy schools. You'll see them bomb masjids and madrassahs. Their very name "Boko Haram" literally means "Western Education is sinful".....and when they mean Western Education, they include things like chemistry, physics, engineering and mathematics. Wallahi evil really does exist. And I'm seeing right now in Northern Nigeria. And this group has been tolerated for far too long by the Muslims in the North for fear of enraging them....and now you're seeing thousands of Muslims being slaughtered like rams by these Boko Haram thugs, forcing hundreds of thousands of them to flee to Chad and Niger. They are actually the worst terrorist group in the world. Al Shabab doesn't even come close.
