1. @Safferz said: It's not American authorities who are pissed, it's Liberia that's pissed lol. They're the ones who disclosed his name (patient confidentiality is the law in the US, so his name would not have gotten out if it wasn't for the Liberian government) and they announced they'll prosecute him when he returns for allegedly lying on the questionnaire. The US doesn't care -- their only concern is containing the disease and making sure it doesn't spread. Don't conflate how the media is talking about him and public hysteria with how the CDC is treating the case. Correction: But you can’t blame the Americans for being pissed off about this There, that fixes it People here in America are extremely pissed off about this incident. All you have to do is turn on the TV and see for yourself
2. @Holac said: The Somali National Army is doing a great job. Alshabab should never ever be allowed to establish a base again in a major Somali town. Let us make their lives difficult. Let's hope that the Somali Government establishes a competent FBI-like Police and Intelligence force to harass, intimidate, infiltrate and ultimately destroy Al Shabaab.
3. @Dhagax-Tuur said: Liberia would have stopped him travelling had he disclosed his Ebola status. Have you seen the state of people, many children left to die on beds? That man has done what anyone of us would have . And I'm not blaming him for doing so. But you can't blame the American authorities for being pissed off about this
4. @Khayr said: Why tell them everything? Would they get better care in Liberia when people are trying go flee from this killer virus? It was survival instinct and any American should understand that. The arrogance of the Yanks never ceases to amaze. Liberia's U.S. bank rolled President is also a Big Ape - an Idiot! So you're telling me it's a good idea for an Ebola-ridden patient to run to America and not immediately disclose the risk factors? You do realize North America has well over 500 million people, and that preventing the spread of this contagious disease is a top priority right? That's not arrogance, that's being pragmatic. I'm sure you wouldn't want an Ebola-ridden patient to come to Mogadishu, so why are you demanding a double standard for Americans? Why do you insist Americans don't take the proper precautions to safeguard their health?
5. CidanSultan, you do realize that Somalia is a fairly large country with different regions, some more peaceful than others. The region of Khaatumo is fairly peaceful, as is Maamulka SNM, Puntland and lower Mudug. And there are large portions of Koonfuria which are also peaceful. So please tell me what makes you special? What makes your region stand out compared to all other Somali regions, and why do you feel like you have the right to declare independence on behalf of all the people of Sool/Sanaag who may not agree with your secessionist agenda? Why do you, a Hargeisa man, want to speak on behalf of the people of Sool/Sanaag when you should let them speak for themselves? Also, if the DLBHTE tribe wants to be included in a Federal Somalia, how in the world would that be tribalism? You're the one who wants to divide Somalia based on British-drawn borders.
6. Just reminding everyone here that tomorrow is the Day of Arafat. The greatest of days and the day of forgiveness. So let's all make an effort to fast tomorrow and pray nawafil prayers, and our sins from the past year as well as next year will be forgiven by Allah inshaAllah.
7. Allahu Akbar. Let's hope the facts on the ground can support this reality. Ameen
8. Somalia desperately needs a Navy Perhaps we could lobby NATO to donate to Somalia a few old warships that they don't use anymore. Perhaps Somalia can lobby for these warships under the pretext of fighting piracy and stopping the illegal flow of weapons into Somalia. There's no way Somalia can afford the hundreds of millions of dollars it requires to build a modern Navy. That'll take time to build.
9. MashaAllah, flush these cockroaches from every inch of Somalia. Kudos to Puntland's professional and highly-skilled Military
10. For me, my favorite Sol'ers are Mooge, Tillamook, and Galbeedi I really like Mooge's posts regarding Puntland and his insights and analysis (as well as his expositions on the incompetent Qooslaye ). Tillamook's rationalism and sense of humor is unparalleled and Galbeedi's knowledge, intelligence, and nuanced thinking is a gift to this forum and to all Somalis. I also like Tallaabo and Safferz, however much I disagree with them.
11. And these are the low-IQ people we expect to be leading our community. These "odaays" and "Sheikhs". They need to get a job and stop believing these far-fetched tales
12. @CidanSultan said: Supporting "benevolent" dictatorship and heavy handedness.... Desperados. No such thing... No practical. You can live in slavery if you want. Be it French slavery in Djibouti, Ethiopian slavery, Ugandese slavery or Kenyan slavery. We will die free men. Gentlemen. Good day. Warya your Maamulka SNM is also a Regional Government in Somalia, don't act like you're not part of this at all. You are, admit it. There is nothing that makes you different from Puntland, other than your desire for independence. Regional Governments in Somalia and NFD Kenya as well as Ogaden Somalia is the way forward, with regional integration coming soon after.
13. Very interesting read. The leadership style of President Cabdi Cumar can hopefully set a new standard for Somali Regional Governors in all of the Somali regional states. Sometimes it's necessary to have a heavy-handed approach to the "madaax adeeg" Somalis. This is the future of Somalia; regional governors should have most of the power, and they will have the ability to set policy in their own regional States, with the Mogadishu President having minimal influence. A collection of "benevolent Dictators" governing over their local population.
14. @CidanSultan said: If you had a population of 1.3 billion people sending a satelite into Mars orbit is a waste of time and money. They should be helping the poor impoverished people of India. 300 million people live on less then a dollar a day. Bighting more then they can chew me thinks The cost of this trip was like 70 million dollars, and India reached Mars on their FIRST TRY, which has never been done before! It costs a fraction of US and Russian missions to Mars! And India has 1.2 billion people, who share a country, even though India has like 100 different ethnic groups and languages and religions and cultures, yet they can STILL get along and build a functioning democracy. India is extremely diverse yet their country is stable and peaceful. Yet if all of Western Africa became one nation, do you REALLY think it would be as successful as India? Would they even have peace? Africans can't even get along. Yet Indians can. Why is that?
15. That's not what I'm getting at.... Al Shabab is a group of stupid Africans who don't know anything. Why else would they threaten Britain because of Britain's arrest of a random Egyptian Cleric who has nothing to do with Somalia? Why do they give a damn if an Egyptian Cleric in Britain was extradited to the United States? Are those the actions of a rational group of people? Is this how adults behave? Do you really think if Al Shabab took control of Somalia, that there would be peace in our country? You're very naive if you think so, because it's absolutely certain that Al Shabab would begin declaring war on all of Somalia's neighbors, sponsoring attacks in faraway lands, and as a result bring in NATO to attack Somalia. They don't give a shit about peace. All they care about is power, and I can't believe you don't see that.
16. LOL CidanSultan do you really think if Al Shabab conquered all of Koonfuria, that we would have peace in Somalia? Is that why they threatened to destroy and destabilize Puntland and Djibouti on separate occasions? Is that why they ally themselves with Internationalists such as Al Qaeda who want to wage war not just in Yemen, but in Kenya, Ethiopia and other countries? Is that why Al Shabab threatened to attack Britain, because the British arrested some random Egyptian Cleric? Is this cleric even a Somali? Does this have ANYTHING to do with Somalia or Somalia's interests? Yet they want to threaten an attack on Britain because of this? They can't even feed their own people, they can't even establish some form of effective governance in the areas they control, yet these terrorists want to declare war on Britain (and the rest of NATO as a result) because some Egyptian guy gets arrested. And these are the people you sympathize with. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/somalia/9628200/Somalian-al-Shabaab-group-in-new-attack-threat-to-Britain.html You really think these xayawaans are after peace? Wallahi, Somalia will be in a perpetual war lasting multiple generations if this cancer isn't destroyed.
17. CidanSultan, all you wanna do is talk about the Islamic Courts Union! They don't exist anymore! We're not in the year 2006 anymore! You might as well resurrect President Abdullahi Yusuf from the dead and repeat the events of 2006, but you know very well that's never gonna happen, so why even discuss it? Al Shabab is the enemy of the Somali people, and all you can think about is talking about what happened in 2006, authubilah. We live in the real world saaxib, we have to deal with Somalia as it is TODAY. And TODAY, we have these Takfiri Khawaarij terrorist thugs known as Al Shabab terrorizing Somali civilians and destabilizing our country. If Somalis don't support Somalia's Army, if we don't at least contribute in some way, then Somalia's civil war will continue. Are you too short-sighted to look at the bigger picture here? Even if every single one of the Somali Government soldiers were corrupt (and that's far from true), it wouldn't make a difference on how we should feel towards Al Shabab. Somalia is a Republic, and with the onset of peace and prosperity we will hopefully recruit higher-quality men to join the Military and Police. If Somalia has an effective Military and Police, then we wouldn't be here discussing the presence of AU Soldiers in Somalia since they wouldn't even be there to begin with.
18. CidanSultan, You're confusing ISIS for Al Qaeda. They're not the same, they're not even remotely similar in their structure. ISIS has an actual Army which controls a territory the size of Britain. They have tanks, jeeps, armored vehicles, and even government ministries. ISIS doesn't have the luxury where they can melt into the countryside like other guerrilla groups. They're clearly visible, which means they can be destroyed easily once they face off against a superior Army. The same way how Saddam Hussein's forces were destroyed in 1991 when they faced off against NATO. The same way how the Tamil Tigers were destroyed in 2009 when they faced off against the Army of Sri Lanka. You're overestimating the capabilities of ISIS. All NATO needs to do is to hit ISIS enough times to cripple their military capability, and then they sponsor Kurdish and moderate Syrian and Iranian forces to wipe ISIS off the map. Do you REALLY think that ISIS would be capable of holding onto a territory the size of Britain in the face of this massive onslaught? ISIS will be destroyed. This Takfiri Khawaarij terrorist group will be destroyed--by the Grace of Allah--and they will be sent to Hell where they belong.
19. CidanSultan, do you not understand the concept of cause-and-effect? You can dislike AMISOM all you want, and I dislike them as well, but their presence is a direct result of the actions of Al Shabaab. If those terrorists lay down their weapons and attempt a reconciliation for the sake of Somalia, then we wouldn't need to have these AMISOM troops on our soil. Your criticism of the Somali Army doesn't mean sh** when you have these Takfiri dogs roaming around Somalia and destabilizing the country. Those Takfiri terrorists and their corrupt Ideology is what prompted the United States and the European Union to sponsor AMISOM soldiers to enter Somalia and fight Al Shabab. You can hate their presence all you want, and I hate it too, but learn the concept of "cause-and-effect." The creation of a viable Somali Army is the ONLY possible way to expel AMISOM and Al Shabab from our country for good
20. Is it really a good idea for Puntland to start naming new Advisers and new Cabinet Positions and new Ministers? I would prefer that Puntland has a small government. A small government which performs only the most necessary tasks. The last thing Puntland needs is an enormous government bureaucracy with tons of government bureaucrats, advisers, ministers, and all of that unnecessary stuff. That's what bankrupted Spain and Italy. I just hope it's not repeated anywhere in Somalia.
21. @SomaliaPatriot said: Dude i expected it to be larger. Don't worry, when I become President of Puntland I'll expand the Palace a few acres, add a swimming pool and a tennis court and a personal in-home movie theater :D
22. The arrogance of the White Man in the 20th century was absolutely unbelievable. I'm actually in shock
23. CidanSultan, again. I'm gonna reiterate to you that on Yawmul Qiyaama, Allah will not ask you what the Prime Minister of Israel did or what George W Bush did. Allah will ask you WHAT DID YOU DO? HOW DID YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE? That's what will be asked of you The actions of the Israeli Prime Minister is no excuse for this type of behavior. We're Muslims, we should be taking the high road and behave better than those who seek to oppress and subjugate others. This SmartLander character is a kid, he's probably still in high-school and he's extremely naive.
24. This cockroach thinks he has the right to open up the Quran and then interpret it according to his own twisted views. He thinks he has the right to kill kill kill. And then he threatens to destroy Canada and all of the Western countries. Wallahi the contempt I have for this traitor "Farah Shirdon" is unreal. It's a shame this "Abu Usamah Somali" character wasn't killed yet.
25. TheFutureNow, thanks for the advice Tallaabo, yes you can practice self-restraint and remain celibate. Ask a nun or a priest for their opinion. You have no right to legalize what was made haram.
