There is so much corruption in Somalia. Some of these people don't ever want progress and progressive thinking.

There's a similar thread about this, but yes I agree gays should be able to marry and have the same benefits. Taxes, mortgage, visitation and decision rights in hospitals etc.

If homosexuality is not something people are born with, is it then a conscious choice? I find the latter difficult to believe. Because that would imply that straight people also take the decision to be straight some time in their life. I see it as human development. And if something occurs in nature, it is therefore automatically natural. The difference is to accept homosexual acts versus homosexuality itself. Homosexuality isn't going nowhere and people shouldn't be all emotional about it. I'm not interested in pseudo science based on religion.

About 8-10% of the world population is homosexual. I still fail to hear what exactly makes homosexuals a danger to humanity. Because I know a few, both feminine and some even manlier than most straights I know. Can someone list why they're a danger to humanity or marriage based on logic and not use religion, sentiments or homophobia?

The IMF will try to enslave the Somali government with forced loans and terrible conditions such as the privatization of national assets. Read the book 'Confessions of an Economic Hit Man' by John Perkins. Although I some loans will definitely be needed, we should not exceed of what we don't need. And be humble in our progression.

Does this mean this '180 year old prison' is no longer a national historic landmark? So people can't use it for tours & education in the future? This look like a heritage site with a lot of history. Better make a prison elsewhere.

Even though a lot of countries a have more deaths due to internal conflicts, Somalia is thought of being more dangerous. Peace is not just about the absence of violence. It is also about lasting development of societies and wellbeing of its citizens

I think this was written in the EastAfrican website. A day after on KTN there was a discussion on a tv program in Kenya and 1 Kenyan 'expert' called for Somalia to be divided into two states.

Btw these coins are worth more than the actual coins that will be used in Somalia. These coins are for collectors and investors as they are 'Non Circulating Legal Tender' (NCLT). It can be used legally, but you would be making a loss just by using these coins. Maybe the official ones for use will have different depictions. Who knows.

But aren't Somalis forcing women to wear a headscarve as well? I've never seen a Somali women ( even foreigners visiting Somalia ) without a headscarve or jilbaab. I don't agree with secularists that forbid the headscarve in state institutions & universities. I'm all for choice.

Strange. I've always thought places like Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico would be more dangerous than Somalia.

I've seen some pictures of vandalized mosques. Filled with trash and beer bottles inside. Pretty shocking to see. This all seems too organized. Not that this has to do with anything, but according to some articles the UK has asked Turkey to back down in Somalia.

Somalia has been seen as one of the worst places in the world to be a woman. Next to India and Afghanistan. Why not let the focus be on how the future Somalia can be a good place to be a woman? What steps need to be made etc. Or are we obsessed with controlling women's vagina's? I never knew that for instance seeing a girl going to a toilet was even considered a taboo.
