إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ To Allah we belong and to him we shall return, May Allah have mercy on her soul and protect and guide her offspring, Ameen. This story made me cry but Alhamdullillah the older two are young men who seem mature for their age. I love the suggestion that the Somali folk living in Ottawa should try to contact and support the boys. Remember to make dua for these boys and the many more Muslims who are suffereing Inshallah.

Mashallah, I heard somewhere that in Malaysia that in order for a Muslim couple to get married they must partake in a pre-marital course in which the rights and responsibilities of the bride and groom to be will be discussed. I love this idea, i think it would help both parties appreciate the beauty and great responsibility associated with marital life.

Mashallah, excellent thread. May Allah make their knowledge a source of kheyr for the ummah, Ameen.

The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam said Beware, in the body there is a flesh; if it is sound, the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt, and behold, it is the heart." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Guess what happened, when my friend left the apt, this shabby looking xalimoo knocks the doors, comes in. So, i started talking with her socially. Out of no where, she asking so what tribe r u? I wasnt expecting it. Warning though to DC (daqan Celis) folks....never answer this if u dont know the asker personally.. its a trap. Seriously, she saw that i was not interested at her...so she started doing mind games...to try to get me from Clan-door back door. This reminds me of a time my cousin and I were talking and chatting happily one Saturday afternoon (we were about 12 years old at the time) we were walking to her place from my house when a Somali taxi driver stopped and offered us a lift we figured since we have a long walk to go why not? (I know how naive!). Alhamdullilah we arrived safely out our destination and just before we got off the taxi he asked us if we are ***** or Non-*****, we had no idea! I panicked I was thinking OMG I have 50/50 chance of living today LOL. Luckily my cousin answered we didn't know which was true at the time as we both left Somalia as infants. Some months later I told my mother of the incident after getting over her initial shock that we would be so ****** to get in a taxi with a complete stranger she said the correct response would have been to answer 'both' LOOOL.

Thanks for notifying us, I voted as did family members and friends. I would strongly encourage my fellow brothers and sisters to do the same.

Asalamu alaykum all, I wanted to start a thread about the strangest thing you have ever seen (pictures would be great) or heard. I must say for me it is something I saw on TV recenty, you might think I am unworldly but this is just bizarre! ‘Emirates Palace Cappuccino with 24karat gold dust’ http://www.google.com.au/imgres?um=1&hl=en&sa=N&rlz=1T4ADRA_enAU433AU433&biw=1920&bih=855&tbm=isch&tbnid=wf7jbUW6Sw0tJM:&imgrefurl=http://tendtotravel.com/2011/06/how-does-a-24karat-gold-dust-cappuccino-taste-like-emirates-palace-abu-dhabi/&docid=SQXBX5H353n_1M&imgurl=http://tendtotravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Gold-cappuccino-at-Emirates-Palace-in-Abu-dhabi-3-%2540tendtotravel1.jpg&w=750&h=563&ei=OueKT4qhEdOgiQfjrP25CQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=286&vpy=168&dur=1348&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=153&ty=129&sig=104537521678988358420&page=1&tbnh=93&tbnw=124&start=0&ndsp=57&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0,i:71 Cappuccino with real gold dust...cajeeb!

The money belongs to the couple and is mostly used for the home. My best mate is Turkish and we counted that night £63k mind you 500 people were invited I think it's lovely dhaqan With 63K of course its a lovely dhaqan LOL.

Will you ever go back to Somalia and what do you see yourself doing?

Mashallah, I am inspired by everybody's high aspirations. I can honestly say before reading this thread the thought of ever going back was a dream but Inshallah it can become a reality. When you put your trust in ALLAH anything is possible!!!
