The notion of separating Somalia has been effectively dispelled in London Conference on Somalia. The lady [Hilary] was loud and clear when she was in London, "no break-up of Somalia". Somalia is big enough for all the clans. Those peddling "clan international borders" and a "President" in every tuulo are just plain mad!!
  2. The president is the head of the state and he is more than symbolic...he appoints the PM and if the government falls he just appoints somebody else to the job of naming the council of ministers, headed by the new PM a la Farmajo and Gaas. The President stays put when the government loses vote of confidence. [only leaving if his term is up]

The Somaliland govt knows that you will hear more about this in the coming weeks. Lol, Xaaji with his usual spin, if there was ever a "government socket puppet" in this forum, then you fit the bill, saxib. Fiqikhayre is a poor immitation, just like PL.
  4. Somalia is a Semi-presidential system. The president and the PM share the executive role...as President has the power to hire and fire the PM then he is the top dog in my book. What those divided responsibilities are, I do not know.
  5. Caraafat, whoever was going to be elected was going to come from one of the many Somali clans, untill we get universal suffrages this is the best of a bad hand. It's not where we're at that is important, it's where we are headed.... As from my previous comment, there are many important positions in the state that need filling, we can't all be president saxib. We need judges, tax collectors, auditors, police chiefs, governor of the bank and many gorvernment portfolios that the like of Samatar can fill like i.e ministry of finance, home affairs, foreign affairs, education portfolio. Remember governance is a pyramid, they can only be one man at the top at any particular time, they are many elections to come and many political contests to be fought, so hold your horse, :Dsaxib.

  7. Be carefull, out there. Then again JB seem the kind man who wont hurt a fly, not sure about Alpha though...he seem to suffer from bi-polar disorder gauging from his rants on this forum.
  8. Lol, The tolka are poisoning Caarafat, soon he will be saying, to qoute Ngonge's infamous words " Clan is everything". I wouldn't careless which "monkey" is running Mogadishu, so long as there is justice and and peace. That can only come from building instituitions that will serve the interest of all Somalis. So the task of the President is building a proffessional police force, Army, judicial system, tax collecting authority and a robust National Audit office to track down every penny that comes to the government coffers. Any national building has to be bottom up, with the government responding first, to the most neediest Somalis i.e. The hungry, the internally displaced, the homeless and the sick from the many women, children and eldery of beloved nation.

  11. Abtigiis;867931 wrote: Whining and curses cannot be a political doctrine, nor can they be a policy framework. This creature by the name Mooge sees contradictions where none exist, hate where love blooms, sanity where maddness is raging such as in PL, and logic in the absurd. Metonymically, he lives upto his Mooge name, unaware of the real issues and fixated with trivialities. Is he Faroole's son? If i'm not mistaken, he could be Kingofkings lost cousin.

The Power house the Somali army is runned by Dblock relax sxb , no one can cause any damage to stability whether the outcome of election would have been different. Agreed. Malistar, ignore the sound and fury coming out from our brethrens from the pirate enclave, a mature politician will come out from the region once this fraud governor's term ends in January 2013, InshaAllah! Lol, Is Mooge still giving Faroole credit for costing Gaas the Presidency?

  17. Ngonge is a cynic @ Malika. @ Duke, blame Faroole for Gaas's demise, his outburst and tantrums made sure PM Gaas was unelectable as the next President!
  18. Good to see the former President being gracious!!!

I agree we have those sort of issues in our communities, how widespread it is it's difficult to tell, but what we all need is to be role models for our young in order to ease the burden of our parents [ some whom are illiterate] by becoming bridge with our new society that we find ourselves in. I believe if we can communicate better with our neighbours, schools and work place, we can break the boundaries of alienation, mistrust and suspicious. We need to learn the laws of the land and what citizenship entails and cut trouble [ in the neighbourhood, school and work place] in the bud before it grows bigger, and that can only come from civic duty to our communities and society at large. Our host nations should know that we mean no harm and if we fail, it's because of human nature and not because of a hate we have for them. Hopefully as Somalia improves, the Mothers and Fathers who are in the diaspora will get some psychological relief and settle better in their new society or go back home and enjoy the peace in their homeland.

Omniscient atheist because he was so unbelievably excited that he found an unsupported claim from me. :D What I was criticizing was your use of bias and prejudice/bad experience to support this woman's use of bias and prejudice/bad experience in her attack on all Somalis. And how does she thinks working/supporting extremists groups whom she share the same prejudice will help Somali cause?
