  1. Tallaabo;992230 wrote: This is a sad state of affair. I keep hearing a growing sense of frustrations and resentment against this government from across Somaliland. Although the KULMIYE government drastically reduced the corruption, mismanagement, and incompetence it inherited form the previous UDUB government, it created a lot of division in society and as a result tribalism is rearing its ugly hear again. This president is yet to deliver most of the promises he made to the electorate. He cannot transform Somaliland economically overnight or deliver us the international recognition we need but what is in his power and is not that difficult to deliver is institutional and constitutional reforms especially in the areas of law & order, justice, parliamentary duties, elections, policing, separation of power, delegating more responsibilities to the provinces and local communities, rules and regulations for national political parties, the continuity in government departments after each and every change of government, and registration of all the citizens of the country in a national database to make the provision of services easier. If he manages to deliver just some of these much needed reforms he would leave office with a good record and reputation and make our country's foundations a lot stronger. He needs serious cash to carry out such a project, cash he doesnt have and the little he has will be used to set the upcoming election in his favour. All these moves that are bringing his own family or supporters in key positions is designed with the election in mind. The man is not as dumb as one might think.

There is no nepotism involved here, just a corrupt police officer caught red handed. As for Berbera, were they right when demonstrating against Dahbshiil trying to build the cement factory? We both know why!! and now ina Harbi who born & bred in Berbera bought some land & some were vehemently opposed to in Berbera cos he is same clan as Silanyo.Come on guys. Balanced view here.... waaryaa Saalax take easy bro. Are you trying to tell us the mighty "Qaranka Somaliland" is all tribalistic?.....surely not!. where is Xaaji, we need to hear it from him!
  4. Tillamook;992218 wrote: The problem in Burco, as I see it, is that habros there don't like to take orders from president Silanyo. This is very unbecoming of them, as they should respect the president. Respect is earned brother!. If the old man were to avoid pushing the pressure points, then respect would have been instant as no one would have cause to complain.

This president should really learn to stop engaging in activities that might create the perception for a Conflict of Interest, he has a long history of doing this bs. 3. I'm also really disappointed in Warracade, Silanlyo uses the the interior ministers (who are always HY) as his foot soldiers. 4. I find the none-Somalilanders discussing Somaliland internal affairs annoying (I don't know why) , but like everyone else, no doubt you take part in discussions involving other parts of Somalia?

I don't like the idea of Hargaisa deciding the affairs of Sanaag or any other region, the constitutional powers needs amendment ASAP, the regions deserve more powers. And some people are against Federalism?

How loyal are the MPS faroole is going to pay them surely but if they dont vote and he loses than that will be a pity for him. Not that it is any business of yours, but I am not from Galkacyo. Let me try to explain to you in layman terms how people in Puntland approach such situations. Generally, we think of our interest and who can deliver it. Personally it is Gaas simply because he has a track record of success, you on the there hand want your brother in law to be at the helm simply because he is bringing down Puntland and that is your main hope!. Guess what?, he aint coming back so live with it. The taxes that a keeping Berbera afloat happen to be our businessmen and women and they will be coming back to Bosaso after the taxation there is addressed. Puntland will re-emerge from this dusty period and grow back to take it's rightful place iA
  10. Samafal;991892 wrote: Haaji xandhuuf, Dr Gaas is the best candidate and my favourite. The fact is not yours speaks volume. The fact that we tolerated Faroole does not mean we love him. We have tradition to let presidents to see through their tenure. Puntland needs someone who can modernise Puntland instituitions, expediate infradture developments, and curb corruption and nepotism. Dr Abdiwali Gaas fit that descroption. Interesting how Reer SL are keen to see Faroole back. Precisely why he won't come back. As Samafal put it, the people of Puntland always let their leaders finish their term, even allow them extra time for the good of Puntland as they did Faroole. Having said that, it doesn't mean they love him lol. In fact, they can't stand him, but out of respect for the Office he holds, they tolerated him. Now that they have a chance to kick him out, they will!
  11. He is not outsmarting anyone, he is simply using the coffers of the state and also the apparatus of state. Without them he will look as dumb as he is!. Remember how he looked during his campaign to unseat Cade Muuse?. The same applies here brother. I think it is too early to call it and in my opinion this will be the most contested election in Puntland ever.

  13. Gaas is the only one that can lead Puntland out of this quagmire. He has the experience, knowledge and is a nation builder at heart. He did it for Somalia, he can do it for Puntland for sure. Faroole has had his chance and he squandered it. No sense in giving him another.
  14. Xaaji Xunjuf;991701 wrote: Cabdi cawar cannot bring any progress he is a failed politician. Puntland needs a person like faroole. I seem to recall you telling others to butt out of SL internal affairs?.....maybe you should take your own advice!

The Somaliland Press would not dare report the truth as they will get their backsides in jail!. Just look at recent events with reporters in Hargeisa. Really?, you obviously care!. It was you Landers that posted this thread, expect people to point out the irregularities of which there are many!. The man was arrested and thrown in Jail. You can shout till the cows come home, it isn't going to change the facts!. You have a dictatorial system in place with all the news outlets banned from reporting anything that isn't along the party lines and we all know it. If this a true democracy, you will see people being given the opportunity to speak their mind. No one in Hargeisa can utter a word of support for any other idea other than the one provided by Silaanyo. I know because I went there and stayed for 3 months!. My friends were looking all around them before saying anything controversial. ( all of whom were locals) Go lie to someone that doesn't know the truth!.

This gaal is telling lies because Somaliland rejected UNSOM political office. The Somaliland government is right to put him and his likes in their place. Another misstep and he should be banned from Somaliland altogether. Somaliland should play hard ball with these UN bureaucrats i applaud the SL government for standing against these crooks. Just like in the 90s when stevenson UN representative at that time insulted Somaliland Cigaal told him i dont have many prisons but i will lock you in my dungeon, if i ever see you again in Somaliland. Gaalkaan Nickolas la baxay should know his place this is not Somalia. Denials won't make the truth disappear. The news is everywhere.
