But no doubt this guy deserved it if the rapes happened. I just question her judgement. You're making too many assumptions. Firstly, how do u know if she has the financial means to move? Secondly, do you think picking up and leaving a village she was propably born in and lived in her whole life would be taken lightly by her family, husband, neighbours and fellow villagers? This would undoubtedly arouse the type of suspicion she was so desperately trying to avoid. Thirdly, moving would'nt even ensure the safety of her children unless the rapist was put behind bars for life (not even an option as her honor would be tarnished) or killed. This lady did exactly what she had to do given the circumstances.

Rampage walaalo, don't bother arguing with people who are somali only in phenotype. Also, i've never understood y it's assumed that Somali men who are opposed to inter-enthic/racial marriages are projecting deep-seeted insecurities about their own masculinity/desirability. Has some sort of peer-reviewed psychological study been conducted on this that im not privy to? If not, y can't it be assumed that these brothers truely care for their Somali sisters and only want the best for them? You cynics need to stop putting peoples intentions on trial and just stick to the issue.

I personally think its degrading for girls to register at the mosque or an online dating site. If a girl really wants to get married she should turn to her family for help.

Sanaag province is by far the most scenic and picturesque region in the country, but all of Somalia is breathtaking. Thank you for the pics moonlight.

hadda waxaaba la jooga xiligii geedka laga korayay dumarka, so i'm assuming the men on these sites live in cities with very small somali populations, or like others have already mentioned are introverts, lacking comm skills/confidence with women.

All sides in this arguement seem to be in agreement about one thing; every clan should stick to its rightful territories and refrain from claiming those of others and presumptuosly deciding their politcal fate. The issue it seems can only be solved one of three ways. 1. Somaliland abandons secession, 2. Khaatumo offically joins the Somaliland admin or 3. Fair and official demarcation of clan boundaries to put an end to any disputes over land. Aaliyah and few others are under the mistaken impression that the SNM clan only lives in three cities in the north, being hargaysa, berbera and burco, despite the fact that the HY subclan alone lives in a territory stretching from Ceerigaabo all the way in the east to Wardheer in the heart of Kilinka Shanaad. I support the self-determination of the Khaatumo ppl, but they should realize that the SSC regions are shared, and this is an objective fact.

Nice to see it welcomed back into the fold of Somaliland Burco dwarfs Buhoodle in size and population, so I dont know how that's possible.
