Abwaan, this guy was a prominent member of the SNM, so ur qaad statement is uncalled for. He fought for what he believed in, unlike these parasitic politicans from the diaspora. Ninakani waligii wadanka kamuu bixin. Xaaji, maxaad ina biixi uga maadsanaysaa, waadiga cadowga soomalilandba kadaba naageeyee. Aar ninyahow sidan isku dhaan. Mise waxaanad wali ka samrin xurguftii beesheena iyo tiisa dhex martay 1990's kii? -

Valid points Chimera. -
Hmmm.... it seems like most of u have missed the point. Ofcourse a busines owned by a gaalo person in Mecca isnt haraam, provided the employees r Muslim. The issue is wat the name Paris Hilton represents and conjures up in ones mind. I'd be fuming if I saw her store after having just circumumbulated the Ka'ba, cuz it would just kill my spiritual high. It's like opening a store named after Pamela Anderson right by the grand mosque. Ibtisam, ur point was irrelevent. Ofcourse loads of sins go on in the heart of Mecca itself, with prostitutes and gays and all sorts of other crazy stuff...but no prominent person from these communities have stores bearing their name in the holy quarters do they?
-
They shouldn't have built those either because they dwarf the ka'ba and take away from its grand majesty. But it's nuthing compared to this.
-
Wats so ridiculouss about it? This lady is infamous for a sex tape that has been seen my millions around the world. Is it befitting to place a boutique within the holy city's confines bearing this whores name?
-
Hey Sensie, How can it be ok to have the name of Paris Hilton in big bright letters in the middle of Mecca???? Does sex tape ring a bell????
-
^ Are they? lol. Only to Someone who actually buys into the myth of multiculturalism. Racism pervades every society in the world, more so than others ofcourse, but it's always there nontheless. You'll never find true and and unconditional acceptance except in Somalia, where your actually from. The faster you understand that, the less horrified you'll be of bigotry.

These Saudis are out of control.

The message is good.

I geuss that's a possibility too. In that case she was unwittingly used in a poorly made and easily exploitable doc. Fair?
-
No, it's not that Apo. It was the manner in which she conveyed her horror that I had issue with. Only a totally ignorant and clueless person, completely disembedded from Somali culture could react the way she did. But this couldn't be possible given the fact that she herself is a Somali, and knows that this is a deeply ingrained practise that spans millennia, and cannot be eradicated through condescending and self-rightious behaviour. Yet thats wat we unfortunately saw in this video. That's y it's nuthing but a propaganda doc intended to validate the superiority of the west at the expense of poor Somalis. These type of one-sided docs, purposely devoid of context as they are, do nothing else than to propogate benevolent racism among the bleeding heart liberals, and the continued dehumanization of 'savage' populations among right wing neocons, leading to wars and destruction.

Somali youth more interested in the Gaza conflict

Wat the mainstream media isnt reporting is that the latest wave of violence wasn't started by rocket attcks from Gaza, but by the killing of a mentally challanged Palestinian youth and a palestinian child in two seperate incidences. The rocket attacks were a retaliatory measure taken by one of the armed groups in Gaza. Isreal then responded by killing Ahmed al-Jabari, even though he was a chief architect and principal negotiator in the upcoming peace talks between Hamas and Isreal. -
Apophis;891329 wrote: Your ironic hatred for anything western is blinding you to the real issue. Someone is taking a knife to a defenceless child's body and sculpting him/her to their own preference. That's the issue. Don't shoot the messenger. I dont hate everything Western, but even if I did y'd u call it ironic? Cuz i live Canada?

Which kids NORF? -
She's nothing but a sellout tool in a propaganda documentary which aims to remind and reassure Westerners of their superior culture. Wallee tani reer Hargaysa bayna aqoon. She's lucky in aan timaha laga rifin markay cayaysay dumarkii waawaynaa.

away with u, waranle-warrior, and ur self-hating and defeatist mentality. Magacana iska badal.

lol thats exactly y I dont frequent my local mosque. Besides my friday prayers, which are a must, and the random salaat here and there u wont catch me there. It's become a money making machine for a lot of pseudo shaikhs, who take the money of gullible god fearing women on welfare. Ironically it's haraam to take welfare unless it being donated to the mosque lool.
-
Yea it is for some.
-
Blue, that's y i wrote lool and said it was funny.
-
loool, Blue that was funny even though its not a funny situation. May Allah protect Mooge and all Somalis there. I have first cousins living there so im worried.
-
I'm not sure if u catch my drift yet. I'm saying God is the ultimate critic....
-
No Apo, I mean u don't believe in the ultimate critic of all critics.
