I am amused how from school and office work you reached all that conclusions and then the added spices of what is intended for SL/Somalia etc. Yaab. Fair enough, but do u agree that feminism has been the bane of the west?

I''m all for strong Somali women, but I cringe whenever I read the deluded and self entitled rantings of a Somali feminist from the diaspora. Don't they realize that the sexual and feminist revolution of the 60's has systematically eroded the pillars upon which the western world was built? Is that what they want to import to Somaliland/Somalia?

Narniah, I recognize that there are many dysfunctions within Somali society. But our opinions of any social phenomena are not only shaped by reality as we experience and observe it, but our perceptions will also be shaped by how much we choose to focus on one aspect of reality to the exclusion of others. This leads to extreme and rigid views, and broad generalizations that do not capture the truth in its entirety. The truth is, despite all of the existing problems u've so aptly described, there are countless Somali men who are the complete antithesis to the protypical dead beat Faarax loser you take issue with. So just as you recommend that we look around us, I advise u to do the same and u may become pleasantly (maybe unpleasantly lol) surprised.

Narniah;893872 wrote: What's with the dramatic reply, I never said I wanted to marry ajnabi! I was just calling you out on your generalization saying indirectly people who are married to ajnabi are basically not Somali anymore (Or stop being Somali according to you). What you want is entirely up to you and I have nothing whatsoever against it. That's not even an issue. I admit, my response was a bit over the top. But u've never really explained y ur so supportive of somalis marrying muslim ajanibis. Wat r the pros to these unions in ur opinion, that can't be found within a somali-somali union.

Kolay wax baa ka jira

Narniah, I am who i am and want wat i want. If u wanna marry an ajanabi or just condone it in principle go right ahead. Just dont expect me to applaud your decision. I'm Somali through and through, and i want my kids to be also.

This girl must be truely exceptional if she has u entertaining the thought.

Oh yeah, and that too, I almost forgot. But then again, our kids will always be thorougbred Somalis since the lineage is inherited through the dad.

This topic has been beaten to death on this site already. But it's such a charged and polarized topic that you'll receive tons of very opinionated replies nontheless. I'll start by saying i'd never consider a non-somali for marriage. I need the smell of uunsi, and the mouth watering scent of bariis and hilib adhi when I come home from work. I don't wanna come home to a febreezed apartment with a hamburger helper dinner plate on the table lool.

Once Somalia is stabilized I predict it will become a hybrid of sorts, combining traditional xeer, islamic and secular laws much like what Somaliland has done.

Thanks Haatu. I'm in the education field walaal.

That's good advice, thanks. Wat r ur impressions of hargaysa overall?
