Jacpher;898996 wrote: ^Chewing tobacco once a week is your solution? Wah Khaat is a serious problem and I'm glad to see someone paying a good attention to its dangers to people. If a grown man wants to chew khaat on friday nights wit his buddies after working a 40-50 hour work week he should have the right to do that. I don't view khat like drugs or khamri like some of u do. Khat becomes a problem when it's abused, just like anything else in this world.

Apo, i suggest u quit. Kuwani waa waawaynkii, looma boodboodo.
-
Ismahaan walaalo, qaad didnt make our country the way it is. The war and subsequent destruction of the economy has done this. The men are idle, what do u expect them to do. Like i said, if they had jobs they'd quit chewing or would chew responsibly like once a week like the older generation used to do.

NArniah, u mentioned the plight of ur people. Hmm...that means ur either an OG or a khaatumite, and the boy is an snm'er i suppose lol. Anyway, if he's goodlooking and prays his salaat (hopefully he does) y don't u give him a chance? Or r u looking for a bearded mullah instead? He may be from Somaliland, but trust me he'll resist the urge to asphyxiate u in ur sleep.

whats with Somalis and diin bashing/mockery these days. Has al-shabaab really turned u guys against the divine religion of your forefathers? Do you guys believe its ilbaxnimo to make light of the diin as if its a joke? Come on guys.... many of u have some some serious introspection to do.

Ur right tallaabo. This seems like mockery to me.

U have comprehension issues bro, I can't help u with that.

Lol, again being misunderstood. It's just a maro in so far as how much it can tell u about a girls modesty for the most part. As for it being optional, then no that's not wat i was implying by my statement.

Apo, ive never had extreme views, i'm just easily misunderstood.

I write anonymously and will never meet most ppl on here in real life....wat purpose would back-peddling serve?

*Blessed;898429 wrote: Wadani, I think you've mentioned not wearing hijaab meaning a girl would be loose. It doesn't make sense, especially in the Saudi context. I didnt walaalo. In fact I always argue with people who make hijab a condition for getting to know a girl for marriage. Some of the most modest girls I know have never worn hijab, and I know of others who don the hijab that r loose. At the end of the day its just a maro, and it's up to the person to live up to wat it symbolizes.

The abuse of qaad is not the problem, but rather a symptom of the mass unemployment crisis back home and in the UK. These men need meaningful jobs, so that they either willingly quit or cut it down to a harmless liesurely pursuit they indulge in once a week.

Xaaji Xunjuf;898376 wrote: The culture of Saudi arabia limits woman to contribute to a healthy society it has nothing to do with Islam or with the way our beloved prophet Muhammad csw taught us to live our lives. Its because they don't trust their own woman and are very suspicious when ever they see a woman asking a man a question a simple innocent question they think they might end up naked in a Jacuzzi together. The mentality of the Bedouin Arabs is still in the dessert and not in the modernized metropolitan world of the 21 century. This is just in Saudi Arabia and some of the surrounding Khaleeji Arabs this mentality is not shared by Palestinian Arabs or Syrian Arabs or Moroccan Arabs labanese arabs. Why do these people think its a bad idea to educate woman are they not the daughters and mothers of the fat princes and Kings. As a father its an obligation to raise and teach ur child everything you know you're child son or daughter and the way you prepare them for the real life and how you teach them the morals and ethics they need to survive on this earth. That includes the fine teachings of Islam that includes some of the Somali customs and traditions but also a little character of ur self is very much appreciated. But what ilma Abdulazziz do is totally ignore the female gender how can they just recently have an ID card how can you not registrate a human being what kind of society is that. Even in the pastoral societies of the Somalis dumarka geela wa soo hooyaan and remember the camels of a Somali nomad are his most precious belongings his wife and daughter are some times in charge of the camels. Ilma abdi caziiz gaadhi yar kuma aminan gabadh reer sacudii ah shameful. Xaaji, I totally agree. One of ur best posts in a long time.

Bluelicious;898375 wrote: You wanna claim you wouldn't abuse a woman physically but I bet you do agree with abusing a woman emotionally since that's what most of those men do that oppress those women. Abusing someone whether it be emotionally or physically or oppressing has never been caring and never will be either. Caring is a word used by those men to hide their abusive and oppressive actions. That to me is not a real man. It's funny u say that because I know in real life u'd think i'm a sensitive and loving human being. Abuse, whether emotionally or physically, is as foreign to my nature as snow is in the sahara.

Blue, I clearly said I cant force anyone to do anything. The path someone chooses in life is up to them. But I wouldnt wanna associate with them if they choose a shameful life. Is that wrong?
-
So let me get this right Blue...it's sickening for me to care about what women in my family do? And to care about their repuation and their akhira? Hmm interesting.

I agree, theists who make such arguements only expose their lack of scruples and morals in the absence of punishment. Like I said, religion prevents me from becoming a hedonist, but it does not prevent me from hurting others or doing unjust things (though it confirms my natural sense of right and wrong). I naturally wouldn't do such things anyway based on principle. But for people who are of a lesser moral stock than I lol, warnings of eternal punishment are the only things standing between them and rape, theft and murder.

what conundrum? I really dont get it.

Ur a silly man. When it comes to my base desires, yes I control them to get something in return. As for those deeds that infringe on the rights of others, then I don't need religious instruction to avoid them, because God has made me a decent human being as a result of my genetic makeup and socialization. If i were a non-believer, would i have illicit relations with many women and drink wine to my hearts content? yes. Would I steal from people, or insult them, or not get up from my seat on the bus for an elderly person....hell no.

Well if they looked like her, I might have some sympathy lol.
