  1. The foriegn minister of Somaliland is a duplicitious smooth talker, who sings the masses lullabies to return an awakened Somaliland public to their state of slumber. But it's a little too little too late, because he isn't fooling anyone but himself.

Somali men are not afforded the same courtesy or might even denigrated. Things like marrying someone who just did a stint in prison makes no sense. She condemns her and her kids to poverty as criminals are unemployable. In any case, I guess it's their life at the end. On the positive side, atleast our girls haven't labelled like Asian chicks dating white guys, a phenom in the states. Asian girls are... I never understood the Asian girl-White guy phenomenon. Anyone know y it's so common these days?

I was a dedicated follower in these cult circles and was hailed as the next big thing – a new form of somalilander from the qurbaha but with the lingo and ideology of cult leaders. but still, i yearned for more than mere stories and tales of biblical proportions. i came here and saw my land and realised the evil rubble-rousers and instigators, were so detached from reality and lived in a bubble, a bubble of illusory dreams and nightmare induced fallacies. for the last three years, i've been working on grass roots, organic development, development dictated by us and not them conscious efforts to rebuild the broken social fabric of this land. the people of this land don't need the usual delusional nonsense peddled by fake politicians like 'international recognition'' and other such fallacies. i feel, they need to understand the importance of sacred social values of 'trust', confidence in their own being', deference, trust in social institutions and authority. from the very outset, i felt, through the various research and papers, i wrote on these matters that crucial societal rehabilitation efforts were being ignored and considered something peripheral that the somali customs, norms and values can wholly solve. I realised that through a grass-roots, bottoms-up and an organically Somali approach, I was more than capable of developing new methods, ideas and thinking that may signal a way forward. and i feel i've achieved those aims in their entirety by blogging on SOL and 'exoticisting' my mad exploits for all to see, in the hope they may confer me with accolades, sharaf points and ever lasting success. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL two years helping Good read.
  7. Haatu, I don't blame. u There is a cultural difference between reer waqooyi and other Somalis when it comes to this. To us asking somone their clan is like asking them their last name. It's very normal to us.

lol, ic. In that case ur a mini libaaxad.
  9. How do u know im young horta? I apologize for my outlandish and baseless allegations. But did u just say ur on a civilising mission. So much for the White Man's burdern, it has now become the deluded returnee's burden. I would have thought a man of ur stature and intellect would appreciate the symbiotic and mutually beneficial reltionship between the diaspora and the locals, and not view your presence there as God's gift to Hargaysa.

  12. Makes more sense. I ask people im comfortable with which clans they belong to, and I don't think theres anything wrong with that. If they feel uncomfortable, which I haven't encountered yet, I'd just assume their engaging in projection and assuming i'm a qabiiliiste because they r. 14. Excellent article. I've always had a problem with religious people who act as if we are primitive aminals unable to control our base desires when faced with the slightest temptation. I know many of them who won't attend a harmless event, even if it's for a good cause, because it's mixed. Like really, are the men gonna jump on the women and start doing obscene things because they couldnt help themselves. People need to take responsibility for their actions, and those who try to find religious justifications for their weakness are cowardly and doing the great religion of Islam a disservice.

GaroweGal;913324 wrote: Aaliyah I am not sure what you’re talking about. No one is arguing that people shouldn’t marry who they want but I just pointed out the sheer hypocrisy of the self-hating, ajanabi-loving so called Somali sisters who go out of their way to demean and denigrate our Somali brothers in order to justify their obsession with other men from other races. I also cannot stand and I have no space or time for people like you who try to defend or make some sort of excuse for those kind of Somali-bashing, self-hating sisters. I cannot fathom why you would want to normalize or push such a twisted agenda on us. For example, one of your favourite inspirational speakers i.e Brother Mohamed Diini was warning us in one of his lectures that he is always ashamed and embarrassed to see Somali girls are the first put their hands up and are ready to run after an Ajanabi. He urged us Somali girls and boys to stick to their own race. He emphasized that this phenomenon is prevalent and so pervasive in the Somali communities throughout the diaspora . Anecdotally, I have heard some horrible stories involving self-hating Somali chicks who run away with Ajanabi only to come back to the community distraught and depressed. When a Somali brother wants to marry a Somali sister, the girl's family will do some background check to ascertain his suitability, character and Deen, however with converts they get away with so much as no one knows their family or background. Islamically, the four imams unanimously encourage and recommend one to marry within his own race. Also, in Islam one should check the person's akhlaq or character as well as their diin. However, it appears many of those self-hating sisters are mesmerised by a convert's big-beard or that he is a brand new Muslim, so he must be a special catch. By the way, Somali guys are not immune from this disease. I have seen some eligible and educated Somali guys marrying outside the race, and this equally disturbing. Libaaxadddd!!!!!

I geuss so Che. But saxansaxo makes a good point...these impressionable religious girls think just cuz the guy reverted he must be perfect. They forget that ones personality and characteristics are independent of religion for the most part. Also they don't take in to account that these guys grew up their whole lives as gaalos, and we all know how much the early socialization of a person effects them through out their life. And as for marrying timo jileec and dhago-cas....well good luck to them with that lol.

As long as they stay in qurbaha with their ajanabi husands, then there's no problem. Somalia is for Somalis, period.

The Somali today is far different to the Somali back then. Come on Aliyah! If she was marrying a Somali guy she would have demanded a lavish wedding and loads of money but when it's a bloody white convert she is happy to sleep on the floor and submit to everything he demands. And there are many parents that are supportive of their daughters marrying outside the race. I find it laughable that a lot of self-hating sisters always try to justify their actions in relation to their convert husbands. They shamelessly state that their convert husbands are so pure, pious and prefer a low key wedding when in fact we know that this far from the truth. However, if a fellow Farah wanted to marry her she wouldn’t hesitate in demanding a fifty thousand dowry and a flashy wedding. And why is it the converts are always considered and ‘labelled’ to be better than all the Somali brothers? Wow, GaroweGal ileen khatarrrr baad tahay. I like the way u think.
  20. Interesting, never heard of this technique before.
  21. Actually there was a psychological study done on monkeys to see how important touch was for an infant (infant monkey in this case). One was placed in a cage with a metal bar with a feeding bottle attached to it. The other was placed in a cage with a feeding bottle attached to a fury object much like an adult monkey. The latter monkey would feed and then cuddle up with the fake mother, while the other would just feed. The developmental differences in the two monkeys proved to be huge, with the former developing severe psychological problems followed physical problems that eventually led to his death. The other monkey was relatively well adjusted and healthy. We cannot extrapolate from these results with %100 certainty that the same would occur with human infants, but it does give us a clue nonetheless. So Dhagax-tuur isn't so odd after all lol.
