  1. Afirca will do well, but the century will belong to Asia, minus the useless mid-east states, in no uncertain terms.

    Xasuuq 1991

Barre regime and which was wholeheartedly and enthusiastically endorsed by large sections of these purported victims. Hatred begets hatred. Violence begets violence. +1000. Selective statuses of victimhood in a country where all groups met face to face with death and destruction are a step in the wrong direction. D-block, USC clan, SNM clan, RRA clan, minority clans......name one that hasn't been massacred at one point or another? These people have the audacity to talk about xasuuq in waqooyi galbeed after they had just burnt Hargaysa and Burco to the ground. Wallahi my grandmother almost dug a grave for me somehwere in the haud as I became so sick and frail, as we escaped the daily arial bombardments, that she was sure I was gonna die. We had relatives, neighbours and friends blown to smithereens and the rest, including women and children, killed by firing squads. These ppl in the video are ****** beyond belief.

The Somaliland shilling is weaker now than when it was originally put in circulation, am I wrong on that point? Somaliland is no closer to recognition (the sole purpose of creating Somaliland in the first) todan then when independence was first declared. Lately, they've been 1001 different militias popping up all over Somaliland... some have grown emboldened enough to start their own "state" and militia. Ileen xaasid waynaaday baad tahay. Qof buka mooyaane qof inkiri kara horumarka ay Somaliland gaadhay majiro.

In fact most of the time I am an unabashed unionist, except on the days this dream looks hopeless due to the ever present spectre of clannism that sees to it that I crawl back into my seccessionist cave to lick my wounds.

Because he wouldn't want men with this nonchalant attitude about marriage he is propagating to marry his sisters. Marriage is a serious commitment to a girl and to her family. Wax ciyaar ah maaha.

I don't think Khadafi has sisters, or else he would not be giving such advice.

They are the brothers who would raise their voices and get threatening towards you if you disagree with them on the most trivial issues. For example, once I was wearing a suit and tie, and a Brother approached me in a threatening manner, telling me how the suit and tie is imitating the Kaffirs. He was going on and on for almost half an hour, and the entire time he had a threatening posture, so if I dared say anything that would disagree with him, he might get violent. Or those Duksi Teachers who viciously beat their students if they get the slightest Ayah wrong when reciting the Quran. Or those Religious men who force their daughters to marry men who their daughters don't like. Or those religious men who don't treat Christians, Jews and Hindus with courtesy and respect....but instead rant on what terrible people Non-Muslims are. Or those religious men who are against trivial pursuits such as watching soccer games or going skiing. I've met Non-Muslims who were some of the most courteous and respectful human beings I know. And I've also met Muslims who were malicious and generally unpleasant people to be around. And I've noticed that some of the Somali brothers who used to be drug addicts and convicts---when they start to practice the Deen more---still haven't let go of their destructive mentality. They don't have Rahma in their hearts. They may be practicing the Deen but I can't say they are good people. I could go on and on for hours about these men. But I think this is sufficient Good real life examples.

And no i don't want our women to wear miniskirts. Ok I c wat ur saying, but we always had and always will have loose woman, regardless of how they dress.
  19. Oba, If I had to pick between the 1960's miniskirts or the current niqaabs and large jilbabs, i'd go for the latter even though I do think it's a bit overkill. Somali woman should wear hijab and modest clothing, and neither imitate the west nor Saudi Arabia/Afghanistan.
  20. But y do u have a problem with the niqab and jilbab, and not the miniskirts unless u want Somalis to imitate the West?
  21. Oba, it would make more sense if ur 1960's pic showed Somali woman in traditional garb instead of Western clothing, unless ur arguing one form of cultural imperialism is better than the other.
  22. If the wife is alone in the house, then yes I can see how that would be awkward and bit inappropriate. But there are usually kids and tons of other ppl in the avergae Somali household, so this is hardly ever an issue.

They have no real ideological or spiritual connection to this school of thought, but just use it as a symbolic tool to appease the real wahhabis, thus legitimizing their rule. Many true wahhabis, such as the al-qeada and al-shabaab types, see through their ostensible dedication to the wahhabi brand and consider them to be apostates and spineless western lackeys. But in the end, both the true and fake wahhabis suck big time.
