Another law applies? None of these sound so fair and don't go according to Islamic teaching . No one comes to this world out of the womb Christian or Jewish. It's his/her parents that turn them into Christian or Jewish. So what laws do u think apply in all of the scenarios u outlined above?

And yet it didn't occurred to you that if such bind ever existed it then we would of by now have seen its effects on to ground. After all you of all people should now that possession is nine-tent of the law. And since Somaliland has effectively her territory under control no amount of what legal recognition could give to Somalia will mean one damn thing. Furthermore you do know that in this world there are big countries in fact much bigger than Somalia who can't do anything to a regions like Somaliland if they are determined to go their way. And hence this idea of Somalia doing a something like Cunaqabateyn is really for the birds since Somalia in her heyday would not be able to do it much less about the current outfit in Mugadisho doing it Somaliland. No,Saaxiib, the talks are all about bringing this issue to boil. And when it fails for I am sure of it they will, then those with the possession of the land will be far more decisive than those their argument rest on what is written on piece of UN charter. And this is how the world will see the reality. Foe at the end of the day we are prepared to make a standing on our right come hell or high water. While on the other hand the outfit in Mugadisho will need a generation of time to even come close in ruling Somaliland by force. And since that is not likely to happen then you do the maths and figures out as to when this talk fail who will have the better hand in here. All in all, it really is Mugadisho interest to prolong this talk, for when they fail every one will see who is wearing the emperor cloths in here. And then the issue will be how to legitimize those "facts on the ground" with as much face saving legal ways for Somalia along the lines of some referendum done in Somaliland. This is exactly how Sudan was brought to accept the hard fact of reality which was south Sudan has military means to make good on her claim of independent state. And since Khartoum can't do anything about that fact a face-saving formula was cobbled together for her in order to cut her loses. And finally so long as we in Somaliland oil up and take good care of our internal cohesion and therefore we are not in a position to see a major clans breaking away from the central thesis of Somaliland as well gradually and incrementally add the remaining "H-arti constituencies" (or at least add their territories id not the diaspora folks into our column) then we are good to go. And in fact we are more than match (militarily, and in cohesive sense) to meet Mugadisho head long. So in a sense this eventual poker game of high stake will come down on few metrics. And they are: 1- possession of the land. 2-might and means to defend your claim. 3-internal cohesiveness of those you speak for. 4-the fortitude of the stamina you have for your cause and the length you prepare to go. 5-the availability or the absence of a third party to tip the scale for one or the other party to the conflict. And as you can see Somaliland has at least four out the five "metrics" in her favour. And in fact the metrics number 5, is also (at least at this point) not clearly in Mugadisho favour since there are no declared powers who said they will side with her in the event of a breakdown of the talks. So as you can see with or without talks our hands are much more sure thing for that high stake game than what Mugadisho is liable to have in here and in going forward. The guru at his best.
  5. I listened to the youtube clip and couldnt make out what Faroole was saying. If he did indeed call diinta Islaamka qabyo and meant that the diin is incomplete as a system of spritual guidance and general framework for governance, then waa hadal af ka wayn oo qofku ku mutaysan karo gaalnimo. Hadiise u ka waday in aan sharci kasta oo nolosha bani aadamka lagu hagayo laga helayn diinta, sida administrative laws iyo wixii la mid ah, gaf iyo meel ka dhac ma aha.

  11. Xaaji, thansk bro. I learn a lot from u. I know there are variations within the waqooyi dialect itself, but isnt it safe to say that all the territory within the borders I made above can be considered waqooyi dialect? Even wardheer, even though it shares some of that 'waan imanahayaa' stuff with mudug is still northern. A lot of H.Y. and Cagdheer live in wardheer, and I think it's the M.J's of Wardheer who bring in that mudug influence.
  12. This film sucked. I can't believe it would be nominated for an oscar. The nomination is more an insult than anything else as it proves that the bar is set so low for us black africans that even a mediocre piece of work is considered great by the West.
  13. Xaaji, What regions would u consider waqooyi (including kilinka) in terms of dialect. Give me the North, south east and west borders. Im thinking it's like this: The entire area between zaylac and laas qoray in the north, dhagaxbuur in the west, laascaanood in the east and wardheer in the south. What do u think?

U have quite a discerning taste for entertainment.

  16. Haatu;930300 wrote: Wadani, there's a difference between Standard Somali, and the way people pronounce words. You guys sound like you're talking with a mouth full of qaad (pun intended ) Let me put it this way. Most Somalis from the south cannot give a speech in the same Somali they speak at home. I on the other hand can give a speech in the very same way I speak with my family at home.

  18. Marka belongs to Watermaal so Abwaan's clan needs to chill. This isn't the 90's.
  19. Apophis;930273 wrote: Eugh; whenever I hear Waqooyi accent I write the individual off as a simpleton. The dialect is truly offensive to the ears. Apophis, this isn't the first time I've seen u disparage the northern dialect. R u seriously not aware that the greatest bards produce their poetry in this dialect. That most song writers are Northern, and that northern Somali is considered the standard? Check out BBC Somalia and mostly anything written in Somali and tell me what dialect is used.
  20. Baashi;930266 wrote: If only Hassan has the wisdom and courage to appoint Silanyo as the PM and concede Federalism (cease and desist challenging this provision of the constitution by pushing a watered down version through the parliament) to appease D-block as that is what matters to them at this juncture of Somali politicking. Sometimes I think some of u people live in an alternate reality. Did this Baashi guy really reduce the entire Somaliland-Somalia issue to a case of a measly PM post, one for that matter appointed by a president who can't even step outside his compound without san-gadhuudhi soldiers? If all Somaliland wanted was a PM post we didn't need to secede from Somalia to get that...we could take it by force in the early 90's as we emerged as one of the two victorious rebel groups that brought down the kacaan government. In fact we already held this position when Cumar Carte was PM in the early 90's, and that didnt appease Somalilanders did it? Somaliland is a poltical reality on the ground, and a force to be reckoned with. And no amount of poltical bribes from the impotent government in Xamar will change that.
  21. Miyi ur right, for some reason I was thinking of Qitta...Arabic for cat. Bisad is definitely an old Somali word.
