If they self-identify as Somalis, which I believe they do, then they are Somalis. They are a nomadic warrior clan so I have no qualms in them being incorporated into the Somali fold.

Xaaji, I've done further research and their language isn't a dialect of Somali. It's definitely closer to afan-Oromo ee sidaa ula soco.
