Kudos to her. I hope someone translates it to one of the scandinavian languages or English so we can read it.

A poignant song by Magool called dhambaal. Hohay dunidaneey kala haatiyay. Naftu waxay u hibatoo ay haaban weydoo ku hanqaara badanaa. Laba aan is hurin oo haddana aan is haynoo . Intuu caashaq wada helay Hayaan kala fogaadoo Kala heeray waayuhu mid waliba halkiisu la jiifaa haraadkee Halkaad ku nigadahay Maxaad caawa haysaa? Hawada caafimaadkaaga Iyo heerka noloshaada? Hayntaada jeebkiyo sidee Hawshu kugu tahayee? Hibashad xusuusta Hurdo kaama seexdee, wadnaha i habayee, kaaguna ma heema? Haasawaheenii ma u soo helowdaa? Habeenkii kulkay tahay ma la ikaa horkeena? Sida hobol caan baxay kalidaa ma heestaa? Habalyada salaantiyo ma heshaa waraaqaha? Hudhud ama ku lumiyoo heedhe la isku keen diray. Amad halacsataayoo ku hawiratay meel kale. Caashaqii horeeyiyoo keenii halmaantaa. Haatufkiyo dabaylaha war la hubo U soo dhiib, kaygana mar iga hoo. Hoobee laba shub weeyaanee. Hobee hobee Heedhe ma I maqlaysaayee? Hayey hayey! Hindisuhu siduu qabo Hadmaad Iman (ahhhh) bal ii sheeg. Hor Alle waan ku sugayaa

^^ sad to hear. Never thought about it alhamdulilah but I almost lost a person very close to me to suicide. Luckily the person stopped it at the last minute. It was a wake up call for me as that person was one I never thought would entertain the idea. I promised my self after that day that I would take it seriously whenever a person say they dont want to live anymore. I hope your friend gets better InshaAllah and may Allah help him with the trials he is facing..

Apophis: I concur. It'll be difficult for many to fully integrate there though, as many would forever look at you as a person whose not fully somali. But despite that it's important to make sure ones kids knows the language, the culture and most importantly make sure they travel to the motherland inorder to make a connection. Hawidan: Snakker du norsk? Waa runta isku duubnidu waa waxa keenaya in ay dad fara badani iska kaa ilaaliyaan oo aanay waxyalaha qaarkood kugula soo dhacin. Hase ahaate khilaaf gudahooda iyo qabyaalad ayaa dadkeena lugu salliday. Waa ruunta, hadda soomalida ku jira xisbiyada kala nooca ah ee dalka, waa dhowr midh oo ruunti xagooda ka yidhi ama ku dhaqaaqeyba in ay walaalahooda soomaliyeed in ay gacanqabtaan ama arrimaha gaarka u ah in ay la garab istaagan. Waana arrin aad u wanaagsan oo an rajeynayo in ay wax wanaagsani ka soo baxeyaan inshaAllah.

^^ Same reason as many other countries- a sense of moral obligation, pressure from other countries and/or organizations. The friction seem only to grow, unfortunately. The anti-immigrant rethorics and especially anti-muslim rethorics that is circulating newspaper/blogs/facebook comment sections is worrying. I am not surprised though, It just confirms what many of us already knew. It makes many reconsider staying here for the long term. Moonlight: Her tweets came about after a swedish (non-native) journalist critized Norway for racism- reffering to anti-immigrant political rethorics and what he feels is treatment of immigrants as animals by the government. I don't know if you speak Norwegian, but thanks to these two, and another swedish-turkish comedian, racism is now a heated national debate. Even Somali-Norwegian politicians are debating each other. Some of them are unfortunately digressing from the initial point of the debate-the racism to accusing the other of practising tribalism or being a self apppointed spokesman for the somali community. Ceeb! I shook my head in shame after reading this and It shall be interesting to see how things turn out.

It would be a terrible feeling to return home with the hope of doing your part and having ur knowledge scoffed at by the very people u came to help. It¨ll be challenging as somalis are proud people and are cuturally expected to be strong and endure hardships. This "nin ama naag adag iska dhig"or jiljileeca dadka ha tusin" is unfortunately taken to the extremes. Though it might make it difficult to reach out to them, especially as stigma is prevalent, there is definitely a great need for it. You can work with psychiatrists back home and with patients that are recieveing treatment and help them in their transition to the harsh life outside the clinics, among other things. There are several psychiatrist who left or partly left qurbaha inorder to treat and educate the public, maandheeye clinic/hospital in burco being an example. Ha ka niyad jabin inshaAllah.

That always leaves me stunned, it just sounds wrong, like they've passed away, only Allah how they would've been, maybe I would've been lucky to have them as inlaw parents. Allaahu aclam. Ameen walaal....I see where you are coming from & its not right to say that ....Waa laga wanaagsanyahay,. There are plenty of good inlaws out there and if one marry into a good family then wax ka wanaagsani ma jiraan. Qansax meygaag. MashaAllah thats sweet, Ilaahay ha isu kiin daayo.

My boss was open to the idea when i told her about it. That is as long as it is during my breaks and in one of the rooms that are available at the office. You said its a large corporate office, they might already have a prayer room there.. InshaAllah khair

Bluelicious;976175 wrote: It's not worth it in my opinion plenty of people around who don't have inlaws from hell. It couldn't be more true when they say you don't marry one person but their whole family so therefore you need to consider the family in your final decision making. I concur. Its best to stay away for the sake of ones sanity. Interesting replies and btw this was not about me, i just wanted to know peoples thoughts regarding this issue.

Juxa;976275 wrote: Ula dhaqan your in laws like you would your own mom and dad. Ha dhibsan what they say. That is the best way if you want to marry their son/daughter. Most Somali in-laws waa dadleh dhaqan iyo diin and they leave you be, unless aad guursaneyso reer dhibka iyo buuqa lagu yaqaano Waa talo wanaagsan. That is what many of us have been taught, treating them like our parents. Unless they turn out to be reer aad u dhib badan ama marka horeba lagu yaqaan in ay dhibaato badan yihiin I think most people ma aanay dhibsan lahayn.

raula;975247 wrote: Rich countries indeed have patent wars but those multinational companies are holding the local farmers (& hence the whole agriculture-& for all that's concerned the food chain) by the throat/hostage-by suing farmers that neglect to use their seeds (watch Food Inc., this is just a start..)-those that fight, end up loosing not only the battle, but their livelihoods due to litigation costs (millions), or settle out of court. ***I joked once when Dr. Osman posted Puntland's farmland & Machinery & said hopefully you follow Monsanto regulations or your are screwed. The truth is that the patent is not in the minds of the local somali/geeljire farmer, but due to the dependency of the farmer towards the seeds every growth season is problematic & not cost effective (compared to the old ways of using previous harvested seeds to replant). Ok, its a known fact that also companies like MONSANTO also manufactures herbicides/pesticides like RoundUP; as research indicates that such products pollute not only the environment, but as well pose health risks (because crops fed to the domestic livestock can lead to resistance to antibiotics & other health issues. As well as GMO foods reduce the nutritious value of our foods), & our waterways. Those herbicides as well lead to super resistant weeds that wipe out local plant lives & eventually destabilize the local ecosystems during flood/rain seasons. So, yes we have issues (drought, famine, lack of security)..laakin should we even stagnate the local economies by making them even more dependent on the "foreign aid"? How can we ever sustain ourselves if we are can't realize the big picture (dependency vs. self-determination/liberty/sovereignty) ? Well said.

When considering marriage how important is the guy/girls family to you? By family I mean the inlaws. Would you go for a guy/girl that has a mother or a father that is very difficult to handle, one who tends to meddle in most marital affairs of their kids, is very controlling, etc. Would you reject a person on the basis of whats above, thinking its not worth the hassle in the long run. Or would you go for it, perhaps thinking the person would be reasonable enough to put his/hers foot down if they were to overstep the boundaries of whats tolerating. Im asking this because lately I have seen the disastrous effects close family members can have on peoples marriage.. Some people are imtixaan soconaya...

Why would an official risk his kick-backs, just to have the companies move and grease the palms of someone else? I agree with you and when speaking of sland and regulations I meant in the future. As much as they want to attract Fdi/capital they need to set the right conditons especially ones that does not involve these hazards. Im surprised the case has still not been handled and It shall be interesting to see what they¨ll do now. Waa in ay dadku ku kacaan not only those living nearby but every place in the country. -

Wouldnt have guessed that he¨s mixed, he looks like a full somali. Sad, there are so many similar and tragic stories of mixed somalis. I just hope they dont give him high expectations of recieving help from Britain.
