If your deciding whether to participate or not I would say definitely do it, it's a great experience. I have run the marathon in my city it was rather a short marathon not one of those long ones. It's fun to challenge yourself to do things which go out of your comfort zone.

You are never too old to learn. Age is nothing but a number and doesn't hold you back to further your knowledge.
