Hello everybody. Was wondering if some of us will ever get back some of our homes and lands we abandoned in Mogadishu amidst the civil war around two decades ago. My uncle's friend went back a couple of months ago and he found a new house where his former house stood. Apparently the house and the land upon which it was erected has been sold and resold several times over the past 20 years. Current occupants claim they rightfully bought the land before they built their new own house. The more the war drags on in Somalia, the less likely it gets for some people to ever claim back houses and land they left in the start of the war. Subxanallah.

Why would a somali man approach you let alone want to get to know you. You don't strike me as particularly attractive nor interesting. loool :D :D

Would've been worse if the wife arrived instead, the latter is just unforgivable.

Muslimah;43379 wrote: Bismillah What turns me off? hmmm..... what a deep and profound question. This is the deep and profound answer: A brother who is lost turns me off. And what do I mean by lost? A brother who has the name of a muslim but doesn't act like it. I want a mu'min not some wannabe fronting like he from shytown when he's really from laascanood. ..no disrespect to my nomads from that area by the way. My point is: Aint no point in fronting. Who respects wannabes? We are who we are. Here's the wading-pool-shallow answer: Good posture is key. I cant stand a man who slouches. I even get on my bro's case about that. My bro is really tall. And the taller they are, the more they slouch. Short guys dont slouch but I prefer tall men. Interestin connundrum. Buuhoodle is even worse. Just saying.

Alpha Blondy;826099 wrote: Jb, how does this differ from the somali custom of 'dumaal'? i've always found that interesting. Lol, dumaal doesn't imply sleeping with your brother's wife while he's still alive. It's only necessary when there are kids involved, so it's done for the sake of the children.

Cool guy. I hope he establishes himself in the EPL. Wish him lots of luck.

A great read. Everything is achievable.

Not being able to understand written or spoken Somali is supposed to be a cool thing? That's ridiculous.

Great read, never came across it before. I think it's new. Surprised though, Hadrawi comes before Timacade and I think the 'Somali Shakespeare' thingy is too much credit for Mr. Hadrawi.

I don't see what this fuss is all about. There're Somali-Ethiopians. People who are ethnically Somali but are born and live in Ethiopia. There're Somali-Kenyans as well. Hello..?

Xaaji Xunjuf;798186 wrote: This is a disgrace if they want to be Ethiopians they should sing in af amhaarigna They're Ethiopian nationals. What's wrong with that? They don't need to use Amharigna because they're Somalis and NOT Amharas.

I know it sucks but I think in English. Even though I speak perfect Somali.

No is a short answer. Honesty is the best policy but not always. Sometimes being honest can be plain ******, and dangerous. Lying is not always bad, sometimes not lying can be ****** as well. Generally speaking though, being honest is a good thing.

Good answer is: I think she is bald. She showed all her other good sides but chose to hide her hair. The only reasonable explanation is maybe something is wrong with her hair, like being bald for instance.

Many years ago (long before the emergence of Al-shabab), a young Somali man told me a story that grew more interesting as the years elapsed. He told me how events in Somalia would eventually unfold. I know nobody can make predictions but most of the things he told me actually came to pass. He talked about Ethiopians who would come to the capital (Mogadishu), young men who've misinterpreted the holy scriptures would kill innocent Somalis and desecrate graves (Al-shabab?). He talked about another religious group that would fight with the previous one (Ahl sunna?). He said the first battle will be fought in Galgaduud. Then he said approximately two decades from the fall of the Siad Barre regime, there will be a very bloody battle in which the second religious group will win and it will be the beginning of the restoration of Somalia. A president who belongs to neither of the 2 big sub clans (D & H?) will become new president of Somalia and he'll carry one of the names of the prophet, p.b.u.h. Then he said, Somalia will become the most developed and prosperous country in the region and it'll be very difficult for foreigners to obtain a Somali visa....

Very funny story :D

That's very possible and there are lots of Somali girls who are what you've described there, and more. Alxamdulillah my wife is even more than that. I think the best thing is to consult your own family. A 5th or 4th cousin perhaps..Good luck.

Why is it useless to find someone out of your area?! it is hard to commencat , and i about the degrees it is ture because they will think i hard to reach some one told me. sorry i disagree with you there is no reason to lower expectations becuase intellectual compatibility in marriage is essential or what you think?!! Intellectual compatibility? Have no idea what parameters you use to determine that. I think people are not born with the same intelligence levels and I think education and degrees do very little to change that.
