  1. Very sad story. Almost similar to an incident that I heard once happened in Las Caanood
  2. Should've included Al-shabab chasing him too. Good post.
  3. Maarodi;857678 wrote: Yeah, but what about sharks? They eat people sometimes, are they halal or haram? I think what Umal was aiming at was that in such dire times, a lot of what was haram becomes halal for people (pigs, alcohol etc). Also from that interview he said that the hyenas were a different kind then the ones found in Somalia. Shark is just a fish + Sharks don't normally eat people, they only mostly kill them. It's not just about this particular story, tis most of the things wahhabis have legalized in their numerous dubious fatwas.
  4. Don't know who coined the word 'Somalian', the people are Somalis + there are loads of embarrassing things Somalis do in Europe. I don't find this embarrassing at all.
  5. Hope he won't waste the many opportunities that will be at his disposal. All the best and good luck to him.

Saxiib Bukhaari culumada sida camal Imaam Nawawi wuu haystay, xadiiskaani aad soo daliilsateena wuu kasaayay, Why did he not allow it! Totally agree with you bro. Somalis have wholeheartedly taken the new Wahhabi ideology. There are Wahhabi pseudo scholars every where giving out fatwas.
  7. Can't be halal and it's disgusting. Somebody mentioned Umal in defending this despicable act, this is ridiculous. I've always known carnivals to be haram. These Wahhabi scholars, whether Somali or not are transforming the religion into something else.

  10. Just one of Sharif's ridiculous tactics to send yet another sub-clan member to Europe. Worked out so well.
  11. I forgot to mention, am not a wahhabi. I don't subscribe to Fatwas from Saudi pseudo-scholars. P.S: I clearly posted the sources, Abbas.

  14. Aaliyyah;854312 wrote: ^ reading the Quran on the internet is fine. Touching the Quran is a not allowed though. That poster who said no reading of the Quran is allowed. I believe that is misleading. One can even read the Quran without reading the Quran from any source. (ie from the Quran they memorized) and I have never seen anywhere that said one can't read the Quran from the internet. So provide your daliil if you have any. Thanks Narniah for the amazing post. Jazakalaah The majority of fuqahaa’ say that it is haraam for a woman to recite Qur’aan during her period, until she is taahir (pure) again. The only exceptions they make is in the case of dhikr (remembrance of Allaah) and phrases that are not intended as tilaawah (recitation), such as saying “Bismillaahi’r-Rahmaani’r-Raheem” or “Innaa Lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raaji’oon”, or other phrases from the Qur’aan which are repeated as general du’aa’s. They base their evidence for forbidding menstruating women to recite Qur’aan on several things, including the following: Menstruation is seen as coming under the rulings that apply to one who is junub (in a state of impurity following sexual intercourse), because both states require ghusl. This is based on the hadeeth narrated by ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allaah be pleased with him), according to which the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to teach the Qur’aan and he never prevented anyone from learning it except those who were in a state of janaabah (impurity).” (Reported by Abu Dawood, 1/281; al-Tirmidhi, 146; al-Nisaa’i, 1/144; Ibn Maajah, 1/207; Ahmad, 1/84; Ibn Khuzaymah [??], 1/104. Al-Tirmidhi said: a saheeh hasan hadeeth. Al-Haafiz ibn Hajar said: the truth is that it is the type of hasan hadeeth that could be used as evidence). The hadeeth of Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with them both), according to which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The menstruating woman and the one who is in a state of impurity (janaabah) should not recite anything of the Qur’aan.” (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 131; Ibn Maajah, 595; al-Daaraqutni (1/117); al-Bayhaqi, 1/89. This is a da’eef hadeeth, because it was reported by Ismaa’eel ibn ‘Ayyaash from the Hijaazis, and his reports from them are da’eef as is well known to those who are conversant with the study of hadeeth. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said (21/460): it is a da’eef hadeeth by the unanimous agreement of the scholars of hadeeth. See Nasb al-Raayah, 1/195; al-Talkhees al-Habeer, 1/183). Some scholars say that it is permitted for a menstruating woman to recite Qur’aan. This is the opinion of Maalik, and one opinion narrated from Ahmad, which Ibn Taymiyah preferred and which al-Shawkaani believed to be correct
  15. Abbaas;854285 wrote: Assalaamu calaykum What do you mean by "reading"? Do you mean that even reading it (i.e reading from the internet e.t.c) without touching the Mus'haf isn't permissible? Could you be more specific , please?! Reading the qur'an while a woman is on her periods is not allowed at all. It doesn't matter whether you read it from the internet or even from your HEART. It is HARAM. Please be careful when you're posting religious stuff. A WOMAN SHOULD NEVER RECITE THE QUR'AN IN WHATSOEVER WAY. She can do adhkhaar, like subhanallah and the like but the quran is forbidden.
  16. The ''flag bearer'' or anything else really that has anything to do with Somalia is rightly reserved for either The president or the PM's sub-clan members, IMO.

Narniah;853766 wrote: [b Ibn Kathir says regarding tafsir of [soorah al-A'raf (7): 179]:The similitude of the one, who memorizes the Qur'an but does not act in accordance to it, is like a donkey, which carries a load of books, but does not understand! We should read and study the deeper meanings of the Qur'an and act upon everything we read as this is what the Sahaaba did. Some of the Sahaaba took a very long time finishing the Qur'an because they wanted to implement everything they read before moving on to the rest of the Qur'an. This is extremely misleading. No READING of the qur'an is allowed.

Carafaat;851176 wrote: Blackflash, do you want the sunday to be off from work? or rather on the friday? these are some dilema's the goverment should decide on if people should have the right to be off from work on sunday. Are you kidding? That should not even be up for discussion. Somalia is a majority Muslim nation, a vast majority. The issue here is if non-Muslims whether Somalis or not should be allowed to live and work freely in Somalia, which I believe they should, not whether they can be off on Sundays or even on Christmas holidays or Easter or any other Christian holiday. Unless of course, we Muslims in the west are allowed to be off on Fridays and on Eid days. I'd LOVE to be off on Mowlid days too . Asking to be off on any Christian holiday unless it coincides with a Muslim holiday, in my opinion is asking for too much.
  19. They should be allowed to live and work like any other Somali. About being allowed to hold positions, it depends. They should NOT be allowed to run for presidency or hold big positions. Even in democracies like the U.S., it's a big deal if a Muslim is given a key post. Why should Somalia be any different?
  20. There's a traditional Somali song, sung when grinding maize that goes something like: ''..Abaatutsiga abaan u lahayn..'' Can't remember the whole thing. I believe there's something here. Been thinking where a rural Somali lady would learn the word ''Abaatutsiga''. Tis strange
